  1. You'll be fine...be positive this month you'll get greened

Mine is Sept 10 yaaayyyyy.....if the IO have doubts about us I will invite her/him to stop by at our home

I'm sure I will be but there's always a little sliver of doubt I suppose. Haha I wouldn't mind the IO to come over. My only concern was getting a random home inspection (My husband works second shift so odd hours to some) but it looks like they don't do those much anymore.

I had surgery in 2010. Still paying it off.

Ok that is crazy. I'm hoping I won't need surgery ever.

  2. Day 56 goes by and I'm starting to get a bit impatient about getting my work authorization. I don't have health insurance and unless I work, we can't afford it. I have a few optional medical procedures pending (in that I can put them off until the end of the year) and until I get to work, there is no way to get them done without a huge out of pocket expense. And since the procedures aren't for life threatening or dangerous conditions, I can't really say it's a financial hardship case. We visited our local congressional rep's office and met with a case worker. He said that he couldn't call and ask them to expedite (the situation apparent isn't serious enough) but for some reason he's still going to call them to check that our case is moving along or something like that (we're not really sure what he said he would call about). Yurk...I just want something, anything to plan for, even if it is just an interview date.

I know it really sucks but you kind of can't complain really till the 90 days are up. I see most get it between 60-70 days and honestly that is not too far off for you. You just got to hang in there and be positive!

This is America, even with an above average health insurance plan, you'll still have a huge out of pocket expense.

I completely agree with this. I recently had my eye exam and got new glasses. The bill before taking stuff out for insurance nearly gave me a heart attack.

  3. I hear the French is very different compared to France, but then again, I'm sure the French is very different in France, depending on the province you're in.

It is extremely different but I'm sure french can vary depending on where you are. It's almost some kind of slang french if that makes any sense.

    Goodluck to all August interview

I am officially starting to get nervous now. D:

So, I got a second email informing me that my EAD card is in production, dated from today. So what, I'll receive 2 of them? They didn't produce it on the 15th like the first email told me? Weird

Perfectly normal. In fact, most people get 2 or 3 notifications and in the final one will be slightly different saying USPS picked it up. I got 3 notifications. :)

  4. How many days did it take?

I received three notification through USCIS. The last one I got said USPS picked the card up on the 16th. So 7 days I would guess. It gave from NBC which is in Missouri I'm in Michigan so it's not terribly far and it was sent as priority in a smallish envelope.

Looking at Selah's timeline it took 7 days for her...

Im also waiting for my EAD in the mail...

About 7 days but I got quite a few notices from USCIS before it was actually mailed out.

I also like to point out that they probably picked the worst picture to put on the card. -_-

  5. Congrats Newbie608 & Angeltots!

Seems like it's the same thing for AP, on the bottom there was a line saying that it is for advanced parole too

Honestly I'm more surprised they did not always do that. Just makes sense to me.

After my green card went into production it went back to decision....is this normal? I'm getting worried.

I wouldn't worry too much. A quick search on the forums that lots of people had the same thing happen to them. Generally it meant they had mailed out the card. :)

  6. Arent you adjusting from K-1? That would be the reason why your case was transfered to CSC. Most likely you wont have an interview.

Are u adjusting from K-1 as well Trefle?

Most K-1 folks doing adjustment of status don't get interviews if they are transferred to CSC. Not everyone gets transfer and some people still get the interviews. Maybe Immigration doesn't think they need to be interviewed twice?

Pretty sure Trefle isn't K-1 but I could be wrong.

  7. my local office is in mt.laurel nj... i dont think there slow coz i got my interview date early from filing date... i cant wait o apply for ssn... :crying:

I feel you on the ssn I want one too. D: I know that I got my EAD notice when I got closer to my interview date maybe yours will do something similar. If you fill out a timeline you can get an approximate when you might be approved. Mine said anywhere between August 17th to August 20th and I got my first notice on August 11th. The average seems about 70ish days. I know you can complain when 90 days have passed. How many days has it been for you?

  8. EAD received in the mail today.

It's funny because on Fri, 8-10-2012 USCIS reported the EAD was picked up by USPS.

Now the long wait for the GC since our I-485 was transferred to CSC.

    Wow that was fast.

I got my interview date!!! September 17th it is!

    Congrats!

Sorry it took me forever to update you all, but here's how my interview went:

It was a two-hour wait at the Phoenix location but my husband and I didn't mind. We were just happy to be there! The actual interview took only 5 minutes. IO was pleasant and straight to the point. Asked how we met, and we also went through the usual i-485 questions. He didn't say approved/denied, just said to wait for the decision in the mail.

Now I understand why most of the people coming out from the interviews has this blank expression on their faces! I'm not entirely sure, but I'm guessing it's their protocol to not give decisions right then and there, perhaps to avoid confrontation in cases of denial.

The next day, I received an email notification that our i-130 application has been approved! The i-485, on the other hand, just indicated that the decision is in the mail. By this time, we were going crazy!! So we (im)patiently waited and checked our mail everyday.

Today, we finally got the official notification: 10-year green card approved! Hallelujah!!

Congrats! Yea I'm starting to see less approvals on the spot lately it's more of you'll hear from us in 30 days.

  9. Nothing for me still and now I'm a bit nervous. I had a job lined up for the Fall and I assumed they would hire like they did last year, November 1st. But I got an email and they're thinking about September 17th now. It should be fine with the EAD but we never know... I meet them next week but I don't necessarily want to mention that EAD thing because I should have it by then, except that I don't have it right now... Hopefully they'll start the training a little later to give me a little more time.

Have you try expediting the EAD?

  10. Jeez, I'd be happy to jut get my EAD by the time you have your interview

Sorry I'm just whining. Slowly going crazy with all this not allow to work nonsense. There is only so many times I can clean the apartment. I know all of you in CA have crazy wait times it seems. :/

Someone in April thread went to my local office..Process took 3.5 months. She had her interview on July 11th and she hasn't received her greencard as yet...She was also told that she was approve on the spot!!...sigh!!

Maybe it was during a lull period? That seems very fast.

I wont even bother to call. School re opens in a couple weeks so that will take things off my mind at least. Hope I don't have to wait that long though....

At Least school should keep your fairly busy, right? I'm hoping you won't have to wait that long either. :(
