It's just 20th Feb but can't wait to see more ILs coming out..Counting days! I guess when you are so close you don't want to wait anymore. We will be in current in June as per the recent movement unless NVC magically moves dates by 6-6 weeks. .

Hi friends , I m confused about something ..... WHAT IS THE DIFERENCE BETWEEN "PASSPORT POLICE CERTIFICATE & POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE... THEY HAVE ASKED ME FOR PASSPORT POLICE CERTIFICATE... WHAT DO I DO..?
You ONLY need a PCC from your regional passport office.
-
Mumbai consulate has updated their IL schedule if you are lucky one to be included. Call NVC.
-
Did you also ask them if we need to submit the documents 15 days before the interview-it was a old practice. Now the applicants take all materials with him/her to the interview and do not require to submit it to drop off location.
Please confirm with me.
Thanks
Yes, I asked about this as well and they told me that nothing needs to be submitted before the interview and we need to carry all the originals and photocopies of our documents to the consulate directly on our interview day. The steps are outlined below once you receive the IL:
1) Create your profile and add a delivery address
2) Schedule for a medical examination
3) Go to the consulate on a day of interview
4) Pay the USCIS fee after interview is done and before traveling to the US.

As far as my knowledge goes, per new system IV applicants give FP, photo and interview at Consulate. Only NIV applicants have to take two appointments-one at OFC and second at Consulate.
Guys who had gone to Mumbai Consulate-update us.
Yes, you are correct. I have verified this information with a customer representative at the US consulate in Mumbai.
-
Hello All,
Those who have/had interview recently in India for F2A or in any other immigrant categories - did you have to take a separate appointment for a finger print and photo at the OFC? I googled it a little bit but it looks like it's required for non-immigrant visa as it's asking for DS-160 bar code. Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks,
-
Does anyone have mumbai consulate phone number or a direct email address?
I think I am going to call them.
Mumbai's March interview schedule is only up to 26th of March so you guys still have some chance unless there are any holidays in India for 27, 28, 29th of March. Good luck and keep us updated.

hi,
my name is akash. i married in nov.2011. my wife living in nevada USA and she has green card of USA. my wife apply my spouse visa i-130 pition for aline relative for USA last Feb 2012. my case status show in initial review and not any change in processing period so due to this reason i am very confuse. can every one tell me how long take time to get spouse visa for usa no mail and no any call from uscis.
First of all there is no term of spouse visa for a spouse of LPR. Once your I-130 is approved by USCIS, they will forward your docs to the NVC. NVC will ask you for other civil docs, affidavit of support, etc at some point when your visa is likely to be available in the next 9 months or so. Then you will just wait for your PD to become current. Your PD is Feb 2012 and right now as of March VB, the cut off date has reached only to 22Nov2010. So, now you can imagine when you will get your chance.
-
In Dec 2012, the NVC projected that F2B category will move up to 3-5 weeks in the coming months.
In Jan 13 VB- it moved only 3 weeks
In Feb 13 VB- it moved 5 weeks
In March VB- it moved 6 weeks.
I hope we also get to see this kind of 5-6 weeks movement.
-
Just called NVC for I/L and said you should call on March 1st.
That is the date when you would be current. Right now we don't have visa available
Even when Visa Bulletin for March 2013 is 22 Nov 2010
So not happy.. wonder why its taking so much time this month...
Is any body else than me who is waiting for interview and their PD is before 22 Nov 2010??? Please reply
Did you check the Mumbai consulate visa interview schedule page? See if your PD is listed there. March VB is technically current as of 1st March. Don't worry..you will get something soon.
-
I wish we can see 1 Jan 11. But 22 Dec10 80% possible
I agree with you. Let's hope that it reaches to Jan 1st, 2011. Our PD is in the first week of Feb, 2011. Can't wait anymore..this slow movement sucks..Yes, I'm happy it's moving forward but not at a great speed.

All visa related info is now handled through http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/
When new procedures came in to effect last Sept, 2012, Mumbai consulate published rules stating that applicants must bring originals/copes with them to the interview. Need not go to VFS and submit them.
See attached doc.
Thanks for sharing this with us. It's very useful..wow, so they have changed the process quite a lot. They should also add a note to the VFS site to refer to this website. This is very simplified process.
-
It all got changed last year. Keep yourself updated.
This is what listed on the VFS website for Mumbai. Where does it state the process has been changed and you can now submit your docs to the consulate directly?
https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/USIndia/ivfaqs.html
Q.12 My sponsor has already submitted the documents at NVC; do I need to submit it again at VFS before the interview?
Ans If any of the mandatory documents is submitted at the National Visa Centre (NVC) U.S, then submit a clear photocopy of the same at the VFS Centre. Any additional document which has not been submitted at NVC can be submitted at the U.S. Visa application centre before the interview. Besides you also need to submit all mandatory documents as listed in your packet 4 at the VFS centre.
Q.14 If I will submit all the documents at VFS, then what do I need to show at the time of interview in the U.S. Embassy / Consulate?
Ans All the documents which are submitted at VFS will be sent to the U.S. Embassy / Consulate prior to the interview date. Carry your original passports (old and current), original appointment letter, VFS Acknowledgement Receipt for the submission of your documents, VFS Logistic fee payment receipt, your medical examination report, proof of relationship and the remaining document which was not submitted at the VFS Centre, if any.

Thanks!
You really don't listen or understand, do you? Go back and read my post and understand what I was talking about. Then look at the date today, understand HOW the situations are different than what I was talking about.
Thanks Jamprincess, hope so too!
It's the same thing. Now, it's your turn so changing the standards. It's your problem that you didn't get your IL..How can your post uplift someone's spirit? Your words, rt? So you go back and keep the standards same for everyone. As if NVC is gonna listen to you and will send you an IL. Did you forget your words?
Again, as I told you earlier, you can't ban anyone here for taking out their frustrations. You PD is current even then you are frustrated then just think when others take out their frustrations they even don't know whether their PD is gonna move or not.
-
You are no longer need to go to VFS. You can carry your docs to Interview straight as the spouse in US submitted most of the docs to NVC.
Okay..then the process might have got changed recently as this was the case 3-4 years ago for the US consulate in Mumbai..I know in Delhi, we didn't have to go through the VFS.
-
Can't believe, out of all the other times it could have happened, its happening now when my pd is current. They only had 17 pages worth interviews in February as opposed to 33 the previous month and 22 in March. Surely they can have atleast 30
pages worth interviews, right?
Well, there is some hope. VB usually gets released in the second week of the month, so we have another week, potentially.
2) They do send IL's even after VB is released( as read in other threads)
3) They do modify the Mumbai Consulate schedule atleast once.
So, HOPEFULLY we will get something. We all need some prayers.
I thought you are very calm and composed. Don't get very anxious like other people...Hopefully, now you can understand what others are going through..Everyone takes out their frustrations in some or other ways.
-
The FEE to VFS is to deliver your passport to your home address only. If you have to collect passport at a pick up location, NO FEE is involved.
Until last year, Blue Dart do deliver passports in major cities only. Not sure now how they deliver to smaller towns. In my case, my spouse lives in her village as she left her job in a metro town.
Better check with VFS inside the consulate and ask them if they deliver passport to your address. if not better to collect at pick up location without additional fee.
This VFS fee is not only for the passport delivery...they are charging this fee because they are handling our paperwork..we submit all our docs to VSF and then they transfer them to the consulate after ensuring that everything is good so for this service they are charging this fee..your fee is not waived just because you opt to pick up the passport by yourself. That's an optional service that they are offering..hope this helps.
-
Hiii I m confused about the fee they have mentioned ... Do v have to pay some Fee to VFS?.. Anyone done with interview plz help.
Yes, you will have to pay fees to VFS for your passport delivery. Whether you collect it by yourself or have them delivered to your home, you have to pay this fee.
Also in Mumbai, you may get the passport generally on the same day or by the next day. Mumbai is very quick. Take all the supporting docs..don't take a chance and be well prepared for the interview. Mumbai consulate doesn't create unnecessary problems.

vb publish may be tomorrow wait wait wait
Nope..they don't work during the weekend..It's now on Monday..All major roads and airports are closed in the northeast so not sure if NVC will be open on Monday as well.
-
They are already closed! Tried calling them and got a message saying immigrant visa information not available at this time!?
Hmmmm..so they are not gonna publish the VB today...They already know the cut off dates then why this is still a manual process to publish the bulletin?
-
Do we have CAZY888 person here? I wonder it as mine and his timelines are exactly the same.
-
Its ok Sky, we almost there, few more months and done with waiting my friend.
Are you in the bay area? Just checking in with you..
-
Just called and they told me," we are currently working on oct 22,2010 and that call back next month." I guess the visa bulliten will cut off on nov 22,2010. My PD is nov 23, 2010. So am hoping my wife get interview in April first week. Good luck with those who got interview letter and best of luck in their process.
Don't worry..you are next in line! Just in a few days (I'm glad Feb is a short month) you will be scheduled for your IL.
-
21 Jan11
Mine is Feb 2011..We are next in line after you, Steve. Damn! this waiting when you are so close to your PD sucks!

Mumbai consulate shouldn't have any backlogs as the main reason they moved out from South Mumbai to the Bandra-Kurla complex is to accommodate more people with this large office and more windows. Not sure what's going on there.
