I've now been in the US for nearly 3 weeks and I've very relieved to say that both my SSN and green card have been delivered.
It took just over a week for the SSN to be delivered and 2 weeks for the green card.
Now to get that driving license....!!
-
It certainly is amazing. After all our hard work and the waiting around, it seems worth it.
Passport with I-551 arrived today so it's all systems go.
-
Checked the DX website this afternoon and my passport is going to be delivered pre-8am tomorrow morning even though I was told 7-10 days by the courier company at the London embassy. My interview was last Thursday (August 23rd).
I think that means no more hurdles to jump over. Houston here we come. Roll on September 9th.
-
After what seemed like months to wait for the interview to come around, my visa finally got approved today at the London embassy.
Yay..!!
A report of my "experience" will follow later.

Called up the NVC tonight and hey presto.... interview date: August 23rd 9.30am
Medical booked for tomorrow.
-
The wait for an interview at London is killing me. Case completed on Thursday 5th and I think I'll be lucky to get in for an August interview.
Anyone else waiting out there patiently...??

I don't believe it matters for the DS-230. Nowhere on the form does it state you need to use black ink.

The updated DS-230 Part 1 with question 30 filled out correctly was delivered to the NVC on Tuesday 26th of June and it was approved on Thursday 5th of July.
Just over a week due to the 4th of July celebrations.
-
Luckily we had made a duplicate packet for the DS-230 which had my original signature on it.
My wife updated the dates for question 30 and was able to FedEx it to the NVC the next day.
I would strongly advise making duplicate packets for everything and these can be taken with you to interview so you have everything available.
-
We had all our packets ready to send once the AOS and IV bills had been paid so a little bit of prep work before does save time.
From the date NVC it's taken 1 week for processing of each packet. I had to re-send my DS-230 because of an error in question 30 so i would advise re-checking all questions.
James' shortcuts have been very useful in this process and helped tremendously.

Some good news for my wife and I after a nervous couple of weeks waiting.
Our case has been completed today. Now we wait for an interview date. Medical is scheduled for next week. Perfect timing.

It was a week yesterday that our DS-230 was FedEx'd to the NVC so I called yesterday to check on the status.
The I-864 took around a week to complete so I thought the DS-230 would be about the same time. I was told that there was a mistake on question #30 (previous addreses lived at for more than 6 months at a time) so now we have to wait for further instructions as to what to send in - 3 to 5 business days.
The representative at the NVC told me the DS-230 Part 1 (pages 1 and 2) needs to be re-sent to the NVC (via FedEx again as it has a signature and can't be emailed).
My wife and I decided to re-send the DS-230 without waiting for the NVC (Cover letter + DS-230 barcoded cover sheet + DS-230 Part 1 signed).
Anyone else out there done this without waiting for the NVC to make contact?
-
It's been a long journey but we are getting there.
-
I've been calling the NVC every day as I knew the I-864 would hopefully be approved soon. I think they only email you if there's a problem with the AOS.
-
Our I-864 was delivered on the 13th of June to the NVC and we've just found that it's been approved. No problems at all.
DS-230 currently with the NVC so we are hoping for some good news next week. Just in time for next visit to see my wife.
Hopefully the interview will be scheduled for July.
-
And now we have received our invoice for the IV bill. My wife has just paid the IV Bill and we are going to send the DS-230 tomorrow.
Up to 20 days for the I-864 and DS-230 to be processed. If everything goes according to plan we could have our interview date by the end of June.
-
We sent our DS-3202 via email on June 5th.
The petitioner or beneficiary can call the NVC as long as you have the USCIS number to hand. My wife called them a few times as well as myself.
-
We called them to get our NVC case number and IIN.
There seems to be a slight delay in processing at the NVC so we tried every few days.
-
After 8 days of waiting since we sent in our DS-3202, we had an email to say my choice of agent has been accepted.
I used the email template from Visajourney so good luck everyone else. It works like a charm. Now for the IV bill to be generated.
-
This is for all you folks out there going through the London embassy. My visa is currently being processed at the NVC with the I-864 AOS sent and just waiting for choice of agent to be acknowledged.
I booked myself in for my medical now that I have the NVC case number and everything was fine. No mention of interview date required. I have to bring a police certificate and if everything goes well, then the results will be sent to the US embassy and kept there until my interview.
Now all I need is for the NVC to read my DS-3202 email for choice of agent..... PLEASE....!!!!!!
-
The NVC received my IR1/CR1 application on May 14th and I travelled to the US after this and had no problems at all. I told the TSA officer I was there to visit my wife and that was pretty much it. I had documents with me to prove my commitments back in the UK as a backup but these weren't needed.
-
And now the AOS/I-864 bill has been paid. Waiting for acknowledgement of Choice of agent and then onwards to pay the IV Bill.
-
We were told between 10 and 20 days for the case to entered into the system.
As it had been a few days since we called, we decided to see if anything had happened. It had been entered the very same day we called up. There was no email on file for me, only my wife.
-
Just found out today that our NVC case number has been generated.
NOA2 received on May 4th.
NVC received case on May 14th
DS-3032 email has been sent....!!!! HOORAH

I think the hardest part is trying to organize the test. Any centers that have online booking are full in October - going to have to drive to a center and book in person.
