  1. My mom just called...the bus with the team has been trying to reach the Circo Massimo downtown Rome since 6:30 pm Italy time more or less, it is now 10:20 pm over there and still they can barely move for all the people in the streets!!! They said at the Circo Massimo alone there are over 500.000 people waiting on them, plus all the other ones throughout the city. They were supposed to reach downtown so that they could have this live show on TV with them, but it seems like it won't happen for how congested the whole place is. The top of the bus is open and the players are all out there greeting the crowd, they have been escorted from the airport with the typical scooters, bikes, cars and people walking. My family said it is absolutely delirious and the most beautiful thing ever seen, even more than the last time in 1982...mymom said there are so many flags everywhere you cannot even see people at all!! Oh man, my skin is bumping! I just wish I could be there... :crying:

    P.S.

Looks like Gattuso's head was totally shaved on the airplane ride  Funny fact about Gattuso: he was interviewed yesterday and he said he was so anxious and nervous about the final he fell asleep at 7 am since he had to use the bathroom 28 times!!! He said it was so bad he ended up to put an ice cube you-know-where... :help::lol::lol:

Anyways here's a shot of Rome earlier today...

Nevermind the attachment...I don't seem to be able to make it work... :crying: Maybe later

:) Yes,amaizing atmosphere in Roma, they do a lot of coverage here in Romania about it...we very much connected with Italy (there are lots of Italians doing business here in Romania, the most numerous investors here ,and there are Romanian players nel Calcio as you know and so on ...not to talk about our history together,Romania is latin country too,the Romanian language very much similar to Italian,so yeah,we have special feelings for Italy(not sure about their feelings for us tho :P ).For me it`s even more special since I`ve worked with Italians for 12 years, and furthermore they are my best friends,I learned a lot from them, and I learned what kind of people Italian really are.So yes,I have no words to describe the emotions!

I am sorry you coudn`t be there Alexil! And I cannot help to not congratulate you for your little angel (F)

  2. Guys, in my opinion, it’s supposed that if Italy didn’t have penalty, I still would not believe that Australia could pass the match. Why? Because as far as I know this is the first time for Australian team to come back this World Game after so many years ago they were disappeared, so let’s say they are newcomers here, while Italy are really big team (you can look back the history at least in last two World Cup which was hold in France and Japan-Korea), all Italian football players are good ones, and if there were no penalty for Italy, it’s not likely Australia would win, they have less experience than Italy.

Ok you want to go back on history. Ok you know that this is the frist time Italy won PK's going into that match their record was 0-3. Now how can you say they were the more experince team vs. aussieland that it was a automantic win for them if it went to PK's?

Remember also if Germany would of held out for a couple more minutes then Italy would of not been world champs. So as I see it, it was denstin for Italy to win this world cup. a lot of things went in Italy's favor but if it was the other way around, they would of not been world champs.

    Yogi

It`s true,Italy don`t like the pk`s because it`s nothing to show about soccer during pk`s.

    They love to play.

Italy is undefeated in 23 consecutive games in international play. How`s that for a fact?

  3. Congratulations, Italy! And I think at this point any discussion what would have been if only... (insert any opposing team on the way to the final) had scored is meaningless; soccer (as most games) depends to a large degree on luck. There's always another World Cup coming up and that's when luck can change.

I have to disagree with you partially Fisch..happens that my post comes after yours :) ...there is a degree of luck in soccer but not `` a large degree``.And anyway every four years the World Cup reminds us that soccer is much more than just a game .

It`s not a simple question of luck that Italy won the world cup.

In Italy, soccer is the national obsession, an integral part of the infrastructure of the Italian state of mind and of the Italian way of life.

Italians are just huge in soccer and I am sure you know about their history and this time they were once again great, with the world best defence in the first place and I could talk more and more about them but people can find facts for themselves .I just think it`s really not the case to talk about ``large degree of luck`` when it comes to a World Cup .

Italy congratulations again (F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F) ....HUGE festivities in Rome tonite!

  4. jeez! everybody knows that Football (soccer for you) brings more passion than any other sport in the World because there are more in this world than basketball or baseball.

So McDonalds brings more passion to food because it is the most popular restaurant in the world? Soccer (football to you) is popular because it is the cheapest sport to play. So it is available to the most people.

What I find cheap is your comment.

I shouldn`t let that spoil my mood tho...in my part of the world the people are still partying about last night :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Congratulations Italy and THANK YOU for the beautiful night! (F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)

  5. Now ,what about the FRENCHIES``talent`in diving ?That brought them the first not quite earned goal...told you,,...diving it`s part of soccer game .Zidane scored nicely tho

But Materazzi`s goal was fabulous!Gooooo ITALY gooooooooo!

  6. What is wrong about diving??? I've realized that many people make a BIG DEAL about this! that's up to FIFA to pick up the rights referees to spot a fake dive and that's it.

I second that. With everyone diving if I'm the ref I'm not calling a foul unless I see blood or a bone sticking out of the skin. If the refs would stop calling a foul everytime someone goes down the players would stop the acting.

:no::no: ...that would make soccer less of a clean show and more agressive...that would kill one of the big reasons why soccer is so popular.Diving is not really cheatting, diving is show, ...it`s part of the soccer game..it`s the referee`s job to detect a fake dive, not the players` job not to dive

  7. Yes,the facts might not be new,but seeing the pictures is a little disturbing and confusing just because...the girls don`t look quite unhappy?? :o ...I don`t want to be misunderstood, but looking at those pictures and the fact that 1 out of 7 girls are married under 15 make me think that it`s not just an accident,it might be another cultural fact that we don`t understand so we don`t accept.

I just try do be more acceptant and not judge cultures that are different than ours, although sometimes it`s a hard thing to do.

  8. I saw they mentioned about the oldest mom known too,66 years old.

Her pregnancy fanned a debate in Romania and internationally about the ethics of older-age parenthood, and Bucharest officials said limits on vitro fertilization would be introduced but no laws have come into force.

The main issue that was debated in the media was the selfishness of such acts. Now my personal opinion is that there are parents who choose parenthood for selfish reasons at younger ages too

  9. Flight to Germany...$1,000

    Tickets to a game...$300
