Hi everyone, I am helping a friend filling out the forms so he can bring his wife to usa.
The NVC asked for the I864 for the third time, each time they also ask for additional evidence.
This time they asked for the form again plus checking account, job letter and pay stubs. We want to do this right so they wont come back and ask for anything else.
He has his 2013 taxes which his accountant prepared with his wife. They have not filed the taxes yet, they are waiting for her to arrive in the US and obtain a SSN, Does this sound right? Second question is he has to send in a copy of his 2013 taxes and would they accept it with his wife's name on the return , since he is sponsoring her?
We're so confused, any help would be so much appreciated.
Thank you

Hello all
I have been trying to find out the guidelines for filing an I-140.
Can an individual file an I-140 forhimself from another country? Does he need a company to petition for him? He is an Implant Specialist, General Dentist and is looking for ways to migrate to the US
Any information will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Thank you.
I am the sponsor and did send my I 134 in. I am sure I had enough income but I am not going to waste time questioning this now. My son has no children, its just him and his wife. His income is more than enough. I am going to send the documents today so they can receive them by wed.
My fiance was told that the sponsor also had to fill out an I 134. I am going to include a copy of both tax payers passports and W2s.
I tried to call the embassy and was not able to get through. Their line is always busy.
I hope this works and we dont get the run around.
Thank you again.

My fiance went for an interview today and was approved but they asked for a sponsor to fill out an I 134 form. He was told as soon as the embassy received the form they will mail the passports back with the visa which should take about a week or two.
If a sponsor is married do their spouse also have to provide us with a copy of his/her passport is the sponsor's copy of US passport enough?
Do we have to get the 1040 forms from the IRS or can we send them a copy?
Thanks in advance

Oh good, but even if he did, there is a visa window next to the Turkish immigration at the Istanbul airport and he can go there and pay and buy the stamp.
When we travel from US to Istanbul, we just go to that window and buy our visas for $20. I dont know how much it would be for other nationals
But you dont have to worry about it now:)

Here is the website for the Turkish Embassy and they state a visa needed for single transit.

Interesting that it was closed, without exchanging ideas we'll never learn to accept others. But I guess the moderators don't want things to get out of hand and are just being cautious.
This is what I get for working during the day, I wanted to tell those who are interested I am not leaving anywhere, I was just practicing my freedom

I disagree. It's exactly this attitude, Americans thinking that America is the "new world" make most people hate America and/or Americans. I believe its simply called love and when two people are in love they plan their life together and decide which one is the best for them. I know hundreds of people who married American citizens and came to the US and they miss their motherland terribly. They spend fortunes going back and forth to visit their parents, siblings and loved ones.
I also would like to set it straight, that not all US Citizens are native Americans. Most US citizens here you see, are marrying from Pakistan, India, Turkey, Africa or whatever are actually just marrying their natives.
At one time being an American was an exception. It is no more. Not after bombing of all those lands in the name of democracy.
I would stop thinking that being in America was so hot. It is not!
Mostly everyone here is just looking for a soul-mate and hoping that they found the right one.
There are some just doing it maybe to get away from their poverty stricken countries. But think about it, if you were British they would do it to go to GB, or German they'd do it to go to Germany and it goes on. This should not make you think that America is hot, This makes me think that the lives and cultures in other countries and how they must cope with life having just enough to get by or not having anything at all. This is not an excuse for their lies but this gives us something to think about and try to pick the right person.
I also read many posts here where American men kept choosing foreign women to marry. Some admitted that they filed, once, twice, three times. All for fiancees from other countries. If the first two didn't work out, why did they do it again third time?
Doesn't this make you wonder why American men turn elsewhere?
I am curious.

I am not trying to give anyone false hope. Just suggesting that it does not hurt to talk to an attorney. After all, no one here has the experience and knowledge of a good immigration attorney!
-
A friend of mine were married and applied for AOS, however he left before she received her green card. I thought it wouldnt happen either but an immigration attorney told her based on the time they were married she could go to the interview by herself with her daughter and try her luck. She did, I still didnt think it was possible and I thought this attorney was just taking her money. She passed it, got her 10 year card and eventually became a citizen all this happened in the last three years. Her attorney said if they were married two years and she gave up another life for this marriage they could not send her back, he was right/ I say speak to an attorney. What would it hurt anyway?
-
If you have been married for two years and you did file AOS there may be a chance. I would seek advice from an attorney. A good attorney can help you if there is a way.
Good luck

Congrats! How long did you wait after mailing your documents to the Embassy? Just curious , we have our interview with the same embassy:)

Not everyone can use those android phones or Iphone, My fiance for instance is horrible when it comes to using them. So MJ works for us.
My phone rang one day and I had this number listed as "Magic Jack" on my address book. My 17 year old son saw who was calling and had no idea about this gadget. After I spoke to my fiance and hung up , he looks disgusted and says "Magic Jack, mom? Really?"
))
That was a good laugh:)

Just wanted to share with everyone.
Last October I purchased a Magic Jack from Walmart for $40
I set it up on my fiance's laptop in Turkey when I was visiting, it issues you a US phone number
I call him whenever I want without dialing country codes as if I was dialing in the US, not even dialing 1
and he can call my cell, home or whatever number I have, whereever I am.
We are on the phone day and night;)
It saves all the headache with sometime slow internet lines and it saved us a lot of money.
You only pay $40
In case you didnt know, might wanna try
You can also set it up and mail it to your other half;)

I would think if she wanted to return to the US in the future the best thing for her would be not to violate her I 94.
I will not comment about her working illegally. If I were her I wouldnt do anything to jeopardize my situation.
If she thinks she was victimized by her so called fiance maybe she can file a complaint with the USCIS. They can't give her a visa as far as I know but they can keep an eye on the loser fiance.

Thank you, I hope its not longer than three weeks for us. Its amazing how they take their time and give you as little information as possible.

Okay, so we received our NOA2 dated February 28th. NVC gave me a case number on March16th. I keep calling and they are telling me this case is going thru additional processing and unfortunately there is no time limit as to when it may be sent to the embassy. Anyone know what " additional processing" means?

Congrats:)

Ours was 201 days. Just hang in there. Once you get your approval the rest is easier,so what I hear, we received our approval on Feb 28 and NVC received it yesterday.
Good luck
