  1. Hey everybody,

Just an update... After doing my biometrics, I received my interview letter in the mail on January 20th, no e-notification about being in line for the interview beforehand. I had my interview on February 18th and was immediately approved. Attended my oath ceremony on March 4th and now I'm a citizen. It was an emotional experience and I'm glad my hubby was there to share it with me.

  2. Definitely excited to see so much progress for our group!!! Congrats to all those whose journey is finally complete!!

Just as an update, got a biometrics notice a couple weeks ago to do my fingerprinting on January 9, 2015. Yesterday got an email that I was in line for the interview and then today, I got another email that I have been scheduled for an interview. So now I will patiently wait for my interview date to come in the mail...

  3. Thank you OP for this topic because it definitely irks me too when certain USCs have that kind of attitude when relationships fail.

When I came to the US I was in awe of the return/exchange store policies. The fact that people could/would keep items for 30, 60, 90 days and then return them with or without receipts was so strange to me. What I realised is that some USCs (not all) were raised believing that once you are dissatisfied with something you just return it and so they apply this belief system to their love lives as well. I have never returned anything in my home country, I'm not even sure if it's possible  and I've only returned one item so far since I've been in the US and it felt very awkward to me lol.

The same USCs who would wish to send their foreign spouses back to their home countries would never even be able to send a USC spouse to a different city, neighbourhood or even house if the marriage failed. SMH

I must say though that a lot of valid points were made in support of and in opposition to this topic. It was very interesting to read.

  4. Let him start with something small on a part of the body that won't hurt as much.

I wouldn't suggest letting him see or hear someone getting their tat done though because this has been known to scare people even more lol.... but start him off with something small...
