  1. Hi! I think you can go read this thread for more questions about visa waiver program.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/267936-spouse-enter-us-on-visa-waiver-while-waiting-on-i-130/

Although there's not much said in it. But at least you can get an idea. :)

I've read another thread that Visa Waiver Program works like a tourist visa. "The visa waiver program is not designed to allow people to enter and adjust status. It is for nonimmigrant purposes only."

  2. Hi all, hows it going in here? Hope everyone stays rad.

I have a question, while our CR-1 is pending I can't travel to the US. Soon though I'll be taking a business trip to Canada. I assume that's allowed ;)

But what will happen in the, of course very, very unlikely event that we need to make a pit-stop on American soil, due for example bad flight weather? I'm just curious. Hope someone knows more about this.

    Thanks.

If that very, very unlikely event ever happens, you might probably be stuck at the airport or be accommodated at the airport's hotel. I think you can't go farther than that, unless of course if you have been issued a tourist visa before you filed for CR-1, then you may go around and enjoy the US. :)

  3. Hi

Im an august filer too.It seems that english speaking countries with strong ties to U.S. get done quicker. Also those with spouse in Phils may get a little more scrutiny than others..also if petitioner is in the military that would be an easy background check..they are getting the easy ones out of the way while others take more time..just my thoughts..hope it comes soon..good luck

You have a point there. :)

  4. Arg.. I received my I-797s and noticed the Immigration attorney had made some mistakes on the birthdays.

Called him and he is submitting a correction Tuesday, but ouch. Hope it doesn't impact the timeline. The helpful lady on the hotline I called seemed to think it wasn't a problem.

Good luck all. Interested to see if the process goes any faster or slower with us having paid an attorney. So far not off to a good start.

Same here! There was also a mistake on the birthday on one of our I-797s but it wasn't an immigration attorney's fault (coz we didnt hire one). My husband called the USCIS office and he was told it was just a minor typo error. And yes, didn't seem to be like it was a big problem.

No our case was not expedited.

I was reading the previous pages and there I saw how many times you had to answer our question "was your case expedited?". I'm sorry about that. But I am really happy for you! Congratulations for the speedy processing of your case at USCIS. :)

  5. Hi! The time interval between the first notice (NOA1) and the decision on your petition (NOA2) is generally 5-6 months, although some have gotten their NOA2s in less than that amount of time. But what you're asking is what happens within that time interval, is that right? You want to know how long it takes from the time the adjudicator starts actually working on your case to the time he makes a final decision on it, and I'm not sure anyone outside of the USCIS can answer that. The processing dates that Visa Journey displays on the Immigration Timelines page are based on members' NOA1s, if I'm not mistaken. (Somebody please correct me if I am.)

Hi Humanists! Thanks for the answer. :)

"You want to know how long it takes from the time the adjudicator starts actually working on your case to the time he makes a final decision on it"

--- You got that right! I was just thinking if there was an answer to it because the immigration timelines seem to be accurate. :)

  6. I've read the guidelines and I know it's for everyone. I think I just wasnt able to express my thoughts well.

But I am going to try again anyway. So please bear with me. I know it takes 5-6 months to receive a decision. But as I realized, they don't really start working on your case the moment an i-130 arrives in their office. I was just asking, from the time they start working on a specific case, (5 mos. is the standard waiting time I guess because they are giving way for backlogs). As of today, July 31,2011 is currently being reviewed. Since july 31 has just started being processed today, how many more weeks will it take for july 31 NOA1's to receive a decision. I'm not asking from when july 31 filed their i-130. I'm only asking from the time july 31 noA1's started being processed. I'm sorry I am not sure if I explained my side well. Thanks for reading anyway. :)

  7. 5-6 months to process the case.

Today I saw from immigration timlines that i-130's which date is july 31 2011 are currently being processed now. My question is, if my i-130 NOA1's date is july 31, 2011 and it is started to be processed today, how much longer will I have to wait before I get the decision. thank you

  8. Hi everyone! I've been checking out the immigration timeline for i-130 and it says that NOA1 which date is july 31, 2011 is currently being processed now. how long does it really take for them to review the case? The other day it was July 25 that was being processed. Now it's July 31. Does that mean, that july 25 i-130's have a decision already? thanks!

  9. Hi guys,

Hope you're all doing well and your cases are coming along smoothly. Just to share that our case was received by the NVC on September 26, but it wasn't until I called them today that I was given our NVC case number. So for all you, once your I-130 is approved make sure you call the NVC regularly on 1-603-334-0700, then select the relevant language and press 5 to speak with an operator, in order to get your NVC number.

Please let me know with how all of your cases are progressing.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the tips! Were your case expedited?

  10. You need to include the entire sheet with the bar code you dont cut and paste anything

Thanks alot Bahaynamin! I have another question please... and I hope you bear with me...

So while waiting for our petition to be approved and transferred to NVC (assuming the outcome is positive), will there be a problem if I fill out and sign the ds 230 and send it to him early on? Since he is the one paying the bills, he's the only one capable of acquiring the barcode coversheet. Am I understanding it right?

I was reading a lot of topics about this and I read somewhere that he's supposed to send me a document for me to sign. Will the document still be valid if it was only scanned and sent via email? I really want to make sure about this barcode thing because I am not confident doing the jame's barcode shortcuts.

Thanks for helping me out. I hope I was able to express my thoughts well...because I am confused enough.

  11. Hi everyone, I've got another barcode question here about ds 230. Do you print out the barcode sheet and send it along with form ds 230? Or you just cut out the barcode (from the printed sheet) and paste it on the rectangular empty box on the top left of ds 230. This barcode thing is adding up to my confusion as NVC flowchart is already complicated as it is.

  12. I have my wifes,

    2 passport pictures

    ds230 completed (except question 33)

copy of her bio page of her passport

    her original birth certificate

    original marriage certificate

    original police report

shes was never married or did military service, and the i will print the bar code sheet tomorrow once my payment finishes processing.

Is that all I need? do i need to send anything from me? like a copy of my citizenship, passport, or nothing from me?

Hi, just want to know how you were able to print the bar code sheet. I was reading about codes being generated online but I had no luck in trying it. Hoping you can help me with this. Thanks!

ALSO, can i put N/A on question 33 where it asks to list all educational institutions attended?

my wife never attended college, but im not if this questions also refers to high schools. My wife attended high school but never finished it and dropped out on her last year. What should i put in for this question?
