AFTER 5 HOURS WAITING AT ATL FOR MY HUSBAND TO CLEAR THE POE.. WE ARE FINALLY HOME IN CHARLOTTE... THANK YOU LORD! IT'S WONDERFUL TO HAVE HIM IN MY EMBRACE!

This post is a shout out to all my American Ladies fighting through the hard but good fight of adjusting to marriage, cultural differences, loosing control of who they are, not to proud to say I'm sorry when they are wrong and dealing with issues they didn't see coming as she happily waited on him to get off the plane. Everything in life has a purpose including the love you may think might get lost in all the misunderstandings, fights and in the silence. I tell you not to fight to get...

I so understand what you are speaking of. As I await my husbands interview date, trial and error has awaited at every door. We are have misunderstanding and arguing, but we know love will prevail. We have come to far to and Loved to long for misunderstands...which is actually us longing and missing each other...to fail us now. I am still awaiting him to get off of the plane.. until then!

Mrs.Orji- I so feel u on the misunderstandings. Seems the longer I am away from here the more I put foot in mouth. Trying to mend a hurt feels I did to my man. But thank God for my Nigerian man for they forgive (they have to) and I so love him for that.
Lord help and guide me through all this and his arrival and adjustment. And help me learn wisdom and patience.

I had to do some serious thinking and praying on the decision to stay here on VJ after my constitutional rights and amendments were violated by the one who polices this site. I gave an explanation of my statement given that it was not disgrutal, defaming or preempting disgrace to the unmentioned person. I truly believe in the POWER OF PRAISE AND POSITIVITY! and I love all of my VJ family I will continue to post my updates, research to help others, listen, wipe tears, bring smiles and laug...

Only those with the same objective can understand or appreciate others with similar mentality. God balances everything somehow. Without positive people, those who love to dwell in sorrow will drag others down with them. With people like us to challenge, we make their work harder...LOL keep up the positive spirit and don't go away for anyone..get well and come back full force!

UPDATE: It has been one year today Nov 19 that Prince has been in the United States. Boy time goes fast. But in all that time there was so much growth. I...mean Marriage is definately taking care of one another. We've gone thru one huge surgery, sicknesses. Loss of employmemt, struggles to keep going...however we've gone thru gainful employment, two new cars, nursing eachother thru illnesses learning to communicate effectively, how to deal with anger and how to love boundlessly and al...

HEY FAMILY! Again I'm sorry it took so long for me to come back with an update. I've been in HELLAPAIN! but I'm back on the mend. I'm up and walking. I've missed you guys so much and I want updates on everything that's been happening. As always I'm in prayer for each and everyone!

I want to talk about ADJUSTING TO EACH OTHER because once he/she is home it's different love story. I advise you to like who you marry. Love simply isn't enough to make it thru. Once the romance of travel, letters, emails and webcams becomes Honey I'm home we have to adjust. Adjust to everything from food to sleeping. Respecting each others cultures but not completely changing yourself or expecting them to change. HONESTY IN CONVERSATION WILL OPEN THE EARS AND THE HEART.

Green Card arrived! Still waiting on SSN but today he's been home with me for 1 month. I write about our adjustments to show that Marriage is always a work in progress. You don't give up just because it gets rough>> You dig in harder to make sure there is total understanding. You pray together and make sure there is laughter. Love is wonderful but it's what you make it that makes love love.

Post op update: Hey guys I'm sorry I haven't updated you all sooner. But I have been feeling like a train wrecked on my knee. I was supposed to have a simple miniscus repair. But they found that it was unable to be repaired. I'd ripped it into shreds and the cartillage as well. So although still laproscopic it was way more extensive than we'd hoped for. The pain has not eased up infact I'm about to give birth to a muscle spasm as I type this.(it only hurts when I laugh) T...

Every evening they sit in the den watching tv or listening to music. "DAD" he says..."yes son?" he answers and the conversation begans with my young one. Then I'll hear talking ustairs...two voices. I walk upstairs to see my oldest getting advice from him listening and hanging on to his words. He had become the Father they didn't have.. but when if they had thier blood tested the type would be L for love. His name is Prince and he is my husband.

Week Two down. Loving thru the challanges of domestication lmbo. Seriously I was sitting on our bed and found myself smiling and thinking.. I now know happiness and even more(contentment). This man makes my life so rich in so many ways. All I can say today is that I love him so very much and he loves me.

I came home sick. I came home disheartened about situations at my job, I came home like I used to come home when he wasn't here. I wanted to climb in bed and let the silence take me. I got out the car, he came outside to greet me. He saw my face, held my hand walked me inside. Sat me down and opened his arms...rocked me like a child and said... I got your back! I've never had that before. My God this man is real. I closed my eyes and I exhaled.

Hello! I poped in to give so me vital info. Here in North Carolina and going forward into other states starting June 8, 2012. They are no longer accepting Nigerian marriage certificates to change the name on your Social Security Card. You must either go to the court and remarry or use your minister. I know because I went to finally change my name and was given this sad reason. They mentioned other countries that will be affected so please look into your State if you have not changed your ...

NEWS FLASH... I've been released to go back to work starting on Monday. I've been home with my husband for 4 weeks now and bless his heart he has tried hard for me. Caring for my every need. Up all night with me with the pain. Family, when God puts his hands to the clay and creates your gift of a husband or wife it is a wondrous event. Oh please don't misunderstand we have our spats like his still driving Nigeria style but at the end of the day this man HAS MY BACK. I have been re...

I offer this sound advice. Get to know the one you love in ever aspect of the word love. I Know we can see the wrong but be believe we can love it through. My Mother told me this very young. When a person shows you who they are...believe it. Don't be afraid to speak your mind and heart. Don't be afraid of the arguments. Your opinions and feelings are valid. If you feel in anyway this is may not be the person for you ...back down until you are ready. There is no shame in loving some...

Thanks to everyone that posted. I'm so tired of the bad stories simply because someone refused to see the truth or feel the fraud. International relationships are hard that's just true. Lust and lack of knowledge will not keep two people together. Fear of asking questions or even getting mad and speaking out will get you used. All I'm saying is knowledge is power mix that with love and honesty and a powerful relationship, marriage future is what you will have. I'm here for eve...

Four months with me here in the U.S. and Marriage is simmering with lots of rich sweet and sour flavors. Marrying someone from abroad takes being strong yet pliable. The differences can either overwhelm or underwhelm. I'm saying this because I come from a linage of women who are strong, confident and independant in many ways. As for me I decided to mix the flavors of marriage gently and carefully the sweetness of it will go on and on!

Today marks 5 months of Prince being in the states. Going home to him everyday if feels longer. He's adjusting well. Learning so much about this country and how different life is between here and Lagos. We've had our first real knock down drag out argument. We've cried at the death of a family member, he's stayed up nights because I was in so much pain. He's still hunting for a job. Finances have been tested yet....we never think about separating. It's not even a topic...
