  1. uhmm let me see I kill a goat. then pass the meat to my neighbours

they call the police on me. because, they dont know me. they certainly dont speak english. in this day and age. with muslim panic people will target my home. i wont put my famiy through that.

You make it sound like you're handing out the blood-dripping severed head to your neighbors, lol.

I wont be offering them nothing.. they keep to themself. I keep to myself.

Sadia is talking about killing a goat when the baby is born. thats how this issue got started.

In Sadia's post, unlike you, she never mentions any where about bringing a goat in her apartment and killing it at her apartment. I am sure she is smart enough to know the right way of following Islam's practice and respecting her religion. You are the only one willing to kill a goat in your apartment. Below is Sadia's post:

Why is it that you keep insisting on killing a goat in your appartment? You have been told multiple of times by several people that it is NOT something practiced in the US, but you keep insisting on bringing a goat in your appartment to kill. Why is it so difficult for you to get?

  3. I guess if you live in the country. I suppose taking a dead goat to the neighbours is acceptable. but, not in dallas city limits. you cant even have livestock. but, I wont venture into this practice in my home thank you very much

Again, no one is asking you to go out, bring a goat home and slaughter in your apartment. If you read my previous message completely, I said instead you can do what laney & Omid suggested which was to go out to a local butcher and bring meat home or send money to a poor country.

  4. Sadia.. I double dog dare you to sacrifice a goat. and give the meat to the neighbours. they would FREAK out. why? because, its not customary here.

Shon, let's not always make fun of the religion that you believe in if you don't understand it instead of asking or searching for best answer. You don't bring goat in your house here and slaughter in your bedroom. NO. Millions of Muslim live here and they don't bring goat home to slaughter.

Both methods that laney and Omid mentioned are reasonable and acceptable.

  5. The embassy has asked to bring the following items at the time of the interview:

    The Interview letter

Wedding photographs and any additional proof of an ongoing maritial relationship (such as photos, letters, phone bills, etc)

If $335 fee has already been paid on your behalf at the NVC in the US, you have to pay an additional $45.

    The Passport

    My questions are the followings:

What aditional proof of relationship other than letters and phone bills people have taken to their interviews? I usually use phone cards for phone conversations and sms & chat for other conversations so don't have emails or phone bills.

Second, I paid the $45 fee at NVC as well. Is this some other kind of fee that they are asking or same fee and I need to inform them that I have already paid it?

    Thanks.

  6. well I knew my question was basic.. since this is the ISL forum

I knew I could get my question resolved fast. I am writing a paper for class. I wanted the correct name for prayer. they have it listed in the book 2nd piller pray 5 times a day.

the question was the second pillar of islam- what was the correct name?

Prayer is called Duas or Salat.

Duas is name of doing the prayers and salat is the action of bowing down on your prayer rug and going thru the motions.

Below are the 5 pillars of islam.

Kalima (Affirmation of the creed) To bear witness that God is one and Muhammad is His Messenger.

Salat (Prayers) To say five daily prayers at their appointed times.

Fasting. To observe fast during the month of Ramadhan.

Zakat. To contribute a certain percentage of wealth for charity.

Haj . To go for pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in one's life-time if physically and financially possible.

Dua and salat both are prayers but dua is refered to silent prayers and salat is refered to obligatory prayers (5 times a day).
