Once NVC has the documents for AOS and DS-230 they review all the paperwork and if all is complete then your case is complete and they then email you a interview date once one is available and instructions on what is needed for the interview and how to set up the medical. Your papers are then sent to your embassy for interview.

I have used this and it has saved a lot of time. Also NVC are now using email as their primary contact method, so that speeds things up too. No waiting for snail mail to arrive.

Just got the email telling me that the choice of agent has been accepted and to pay the IV bill. Paid it on line. Just have to wait for the status to change to paid then I can print out the coversheet and mail the DS-203.

so what happens at NVC after your case is approved? From your timeline, seems like you received different forms / fee notices from NVC which you mail back, they review and kind of approve your case before it is sent to the embassy in other country?

Does anyone know what's the age requirements for administrative process? I heard all males between certain age group are required to go through the process. Not younger or older than that group.

I want to apply for my in laws and if father in law falls under that group, I would rather file seperate case for mother in law and father in law instead of filing them in a same envelope and requresting both cases to be processed together.

We've finally prepared Nani's N-400 - dragged out feet a bit on this one. Looking to get the pics tonight and then we can send this off tomorrow morning. It's about time to get this whole thing over with.

I got my interview letter yesterday(04/07/09) and interview is on 05/19/09. But we didn't receive interview letter for my wife. But both of us received document checklist/ yellow letter.

I replied to the old post as somehow it is giving an error when I reply to the new post , probably due to formatting.

Lil confusing...So you filed 2 applications? One for your citizenship and one for wife?

I am still waiting for my noa letter. They already cashed my check last Thursday, amazing how them using your money is the only thing they seem to get done quickly!

It takes little less than 2 weeks from the time they cash the check to when you receive the NOA letter. So you should receive it by early next week.

Wow, I just noticed that your case was approved in less than a month while some are waiting for nearly 3 months. Anything different in your case?

i will have my fingerprint at 1pm today...i've got my notice, greencard and passport. am i missing something? just want to make sure. and also are they going to take our photo again during fingerprint appointment?

I believe all you need to take with you is the notice and the Permanent Resident Card. They don't take your picture again.

I'm trying to contact the Passport Service Center. Applied a passport for our baby (10 months old) since Feb 27, the day they received the application, not the mailing date.

They say normally it takes up to 3 weeks to complete. It's been 5 weeks. I've been calling the 1.877.487.2778 number and put on hold for 30 mins at time until I couldn't wait any more. Their http://travel.state.gov website has been down for maintainance for the past week.

My wife, daughter and I will travel to Saigon in May and need to get the little girl's passport ready for Vietnam Visa (need 2 weeks).

Anyone knows a way to contact them (Passport Service Center) to obtain information on this issue, please help!

I tried the 1.877.487.2778 and the website http://travel.state.gov without success.

It can take up to 6 weeks to get the passport processed. You should have checked the 2 options (regular and expedited) before applying. Look for the processing time below:
