  1. Yep, I changed our address just few days ago too and it was a bit confusing which number to use. So use "Receipt number" when changing address (from I-797 NOA), and "Application number" when tracking your case (Form I-797C NOA).

I called USCIS to verify I put the right number, and the customer rep. told me to do the address change again because I used the wrong number.. Well, then tried doing that and of course the other number wasn't accepted ..and I realized I did it right the first time around after all and the USCIS customer rep. was wrong in his advice  Oh well, go figure

  2. Good luck! :)

Just be aware that USCIS sends the reminder notice slightly before the 90 days (at least they did send on our case) so don't send your package before it's exactly 90 days before expiration of the 2 years greencard. USCIS is very strict with the 90 days (even if your file arrives to USCIS 91 days before expiration date, they will send your file back to you.)

But otherwise I bet all will be fine! Especially if you just bought a house - that's a great proof of financial co-mingling!

    Cheers!

  3. YAY! FINALLY!! Could some sweet soul please add me on the approved list!!

On June 17, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375

Interesting is that we just moved and I changed our address few days ago in the USCIS system..got reply yesterday that they've updated our address AND then today, finally, card on it's way! So somehow having a funny feeling that they just put our file in some dusty corner and once the address change needed to be made, they suddenly realized the file in the dusty corner :P oh well, I'm happy!

  4. Congratulations NancyNguyen! :)

I still haven't heard anything from USCIS, still in initial review and no RFEs etc (at least so far)! Starting to get really annoyed and wondering if they've lost my file :girlwerewolf2xn: AND I'm in CA service center so it really shouldn't be taking this bloody long!!

Anyways, getting mentally ready that there's a chance my 10 year GC might still be pending when I'm filing citizenship end of Dec 2014. Gosh, what a headache this is!! And definitely will file service request the first day I'm entitled (July 13th) if haven't heard back from them by then (which feels might be the case)! Aaaarghhhh!!!

  5. My RFE response was delivered last week on Friday so I will wait for a couple more days before calling them. I guess you need to call them to see if they did send out a RFE letter or something. Don't trust the tracking status on website. My page shows nothing new until now (Initial Review) even I received a RFE and RFE response was received.

Thanks so much for telling about your case (especially that your page doesn't show RFE, even though you got an RFE!!) - maybe I'll call tier 2 again soon and check if they have any better knowledge what happening to my case! I didn't get a RFE so far, but as it's taking so long I'm starting to be prepared that there's a chance RFE might be on it's way :dead:

  6. Alrighty, I'm still on the ##@&^!! initial review :sleepy:

So either my papers are in some dusty corner, misplaced and forgotten in the wonder land of piles and piles of files ... or I should be prepared to expect the stupid RFE..

Soo, just in case, I ordered our tax returns for 2013 already. So IF a RFE comes, at least we don't have to wait for the tax transcript as well.

Argh! I'm SO done with waiting - going to eat ice cream now!

  7. I was hopeful you'd receive your approval today too :( I guess the officer who got your case is more backlogged than mine!

I think it's a good idea to give them a call and check that no RFE or other mail has been sent. Expect some frustration when communicating with their call center though... The wait time to get to talk to a tier 2 officer (the only ones who can see more than what the website shows) is regularly over an hour. However you can choose to get a call-back when your turn in the queue comes (what I did yesterday and the call actually came a little earlier than expected).

Keeping my fingers crossed, maybe you'll get a 6am email tomorrow!

    Yay!

Do you remember how many days after the card production email you received the tracking #?

Called USCIS this morning and talked to the supervisor/ tier 2.. There was no RFE, no forgotten second biometrics needed (I was concerned that somehow I would have missed a letter to come and do my fingerprints again as the first time they had to really push my fingers and most of my fingers didn't do a good job with getting their surface "printed" :P ), so nothing to be aware of, at least according to the current info.

So I just got the slow chap working on my file I guess :sleepy:

But Laure, thanks so much for the tier 2 info! I called USCIS, didn't press any buttons, got transferred to the spanish line, said I don't speak spanish and basically got through really easy! Also the supervisor seemed to be available straight away so didn't even need to wait a call back! AND thanks for keeping your fingers crossed...hopefully I'm on the approved list soon.

  8. Approved!!

I received the e-mail at 6am this morning, card production was ordered yesterday May 13th! Obviously the tier 2 rep I talked to yesterday couldn't see it, or it hadn't been approved yet.

Now crossing all fingers and toes for R and L to receive the good news today too!

    CONGRATULATIONS LAURE!! :) :) :)

I'm still hanging here...no news :( I think I'm going to call USCIS tomorrow and check what happening..I'm just so tired waiting!!

    But YAY!! ENJOY, ENJOY!! :) :) :)

  9. I'm right there with you R and L, NOA1 date 3 days after yours (pat on the back). It is annoying to see people who filed after us getting approved, even though I'm happy for them.

So I finally talked to a tier 2 rep at the USCIS service center: nothing gone wrong with my case, no RFEs sent, biometrics cleared, just waiting for officer to adjudicate. That's comforting in a way, there's nothing particular to worry about. I'm not too good at being patient but it helps knowing there's no major error not being addressed.

The tier 2 rep also briefly described the process: as soon as a package is accepted, it's assigned to one officer, who will eventually review it. I guess R and L and I just got the guy who's backlogged...

Thanks Laure! Maybe I should call also to USCIS to check what's happening.. But hopefully it's just like you're guessing, that we got the slow dude! (but BLOODY HELL still :girlwerewolf2xn: )

  10. This is not financial evidence, but what about Affidavit of Support from people you both know? Land lord would probably be a good example for that.

I'm a authorized user on my hubby's credit card account and we sent 1) statements during the whole period, 2) letter from our bank stating that I've been an authorized user on my hubby's cc since -- present, and 3) copies of our credit cards (showing the same number on them.)

What about any purchases you made that would show your billing address and maybe even the end of your cc number? I don't know how much it has weight but we digged some old and new purchases we ordered to our home that show that (me ordering shoes, my husband ordering car parts, all including the info of our address, our names and end of cc.)

If you're short on things, just try to be creative and think anything that could show some (even small) evidence regards co-mingled finances or sharing your home together.

What about writing wills or beings each other's emergency contacts? Photos?

And like others said, worst case they'll just call you for an interview.

There are a lot of couples who don't have that much financial evidence and it's really a ok! There's different reasons and different life situations. You can be perfectly happy married couple and not have a joint bank account.

Just try to send anything you can think of on your reply.

Good luck and don't worry :)

  11. lonelywithouthim1: Thanks for the reply, seems like Dave & Roza has the answer!

Dave & Roza: Thanks so much! A bit bummer we noticed this only now but I guess we're just going to send the information we've had from my hubby's credit card (with me being an authorized user) and then apply now for a JOINT account. And then we'll send the information about both accounts. Just wish we would have realized this a year ago, but better now than later!

  12. We still have quite a few months before the need to actually send the ROC package, but just realized a little challenge and hoping that somebody more experienced here in VJ could advice us.

My hubby (USC) added me as an authorized user to his credit card close to two years ago and we both use our shared credit card account a lot, hence this will be one of our co-mingling finance evidence. However, looking at our credit card information, in all of the monthly credit card statements for the past few years, there's only my hubby's name mentioned. So we contacted the bank and they said it's not actually possible to add another name to the monthly statements or bills.

So the best available way that we can think of to show shared usage of our credit card, is:

    - a letter from the bank stating I've been an authorized user from - to -.

    - print our monthly statements of the few year period that is requested for ROC that would show regular usage and we can also add some saved receipts which do actually have our names written next to the credit card number - hence USCIS can compare it to the monthly statements if they like.

    - we will also send a copy of both of our credit cards.

My question: If you used your shared credit card as evidence, what did you include on that? Is it just our bank, or is it a normal thing that we can't add my name along with my hubby's name to the monthly bills and statements?

  13. This is a very late reply, and probably not current anymore to Lynkali, but really want to give some input for the doctor choice.

I went to Dr. Helle and it was such an uncomfortable experience that my advice is to choose Bergstrom or somebody else.

First of all, in the beginning of the appointment he made some really unprofessional and inappropriate comments. I have a pretty good sense of humor and managed to take his jokes, but I'm still shivered by his inappropriate comments. I also had to chase my vaccination records, but that wasn't too bad. My main complaint was his disgusting behavior. Also, he told me it would take him just a day to do the paperwork, but when the moment came, he said he would have them in about 3 days. Eventually he did it in one day as I bumped into him in the reception and gave him some straight forward negative feedback.

So my humble opinion, be kind to yourself and choose Bergstrom! smile.png

  14. Just updating my own topic here...I PASSED yesterday my behind the wheel! YAY! No more sweating about it!

Interesting though was that the first place I tried my examiner was such a tough lady and it felt like she failed me already before staring the whole test. And now, on my second try, my examiner in this other location was so nice! She made me relax and was really kind!

So YAY! (I honestly was saying yesterday over 20 times "I passed" to my hubby!)

  15. I don't know that much about marijuana, but I really don't think it's such a essential problem if it happened 8 years ago and you tried only once.

Just be honest with the embassy. I think that's much better and actually gives a sincere picture of you.

I would even write an email to the embassy (they reply sometimes even on the same day!) and ask whether you should tick that box on the form. And then whatever they reply to you, print out their response email and take it with you to the interview!

And by writing to the embassy you will know for sure where they stand with the marijuana subject. Most likely their reply is just going to make you relax :)

  16. What I've understood is that it's 2011 that counts! So looks like you're good to go :)

My hubby sent his tax transcripts from the last 3 years but it's the most recent tax year that is compared to the poverty guideline requirements.

Also it's good that your current year earnings are in balance, but focus is on the 2011 tax year.

When we were dealing with this, we called NVC and that's what at least they said to us. You can always double check from them or email the embassy your hubby will be interviewed at. Or you can email NVC as well.

    Good luck :star:

  17. I went to DMV and said that my ssn hasn't arrived yet. They told me that I can't do the written test before I get my social security number. So had to wait until got my ssn (you can get it faster by going to the social security office - it took 2 weeks for me to get my ssn after POE, but card arrived by mail little less than 3 weeks, so you might win a week by visiting the office.)

So according to my experience, no, unfortunately you have to wait for your SSN before doing your written test and behind the wheel. And I'm from CA, so at least this is what happened in my local DMV.
