  1. Thank you, the list below is what the CDC says is required for immigration to the US. In the case that we can not find my wife records and she needs to get them again she had some of these childhood diseases and can not be vaccinated again. Mumps, Measles, Varicella. she has had these. will she be required to take the vaccine again?

    • Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Polio, Tetanus and diphtheria, Pertussis, Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib), Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rotavirus, Meningococcal disease, Varicella, Pneumococcal disease, Seasonal influenza

    Thank you,

How will this help and will it impede our trip to the US this saturday the 28th Nov 2015?

Best to email rio embassy about this once you get to this stage. She can still visit the US for tourist purposes. You need to start the process now since it takes about a year.

  2. If you earn less than 9 grand you wont owe IRS anything however you Still need to report your income. I used greenback tax services. They charged me about $300 something to do my 2014 taxes. Expat deadline was on June 15. They prepare everything based on the info you send them, then they email you your prepared tax return which you will print, sign and mail to the IRS office in Texas. Before you mail it out to IRS, you can make a photocopy of it all and have wife take it to the interview as well. Keep in mind though that if she has an interview in 2016, they might request your 2015 taxes.

  3. Eric, the "NVC" stands for National Visa Center which is only located in New Hampshire. Theyre the people that process your case. I think you mean you will have an interview at the US EMBASSY in Peru. Look i dont know what your situation is but its very similar to many americans living abroad thinking they dont have to file taxes due to low income. I too thought this way. FILE YOUR TAXES NOW. There are many online tax agencies that work with expats. Once your wife gets to the interview, they will require YOUR tax return or tax transcript for the last year EVEN if you have a co spomsor. They will delay your case if you havent filed your taxes by the time of the interview. As far as W-2's etc, that only applies to people working in the USA. Both you and I work abroad therefore these docs dont exist, you have to write a letter explaining this... As to why you dont have W-2's. Your wife will present this letter along with everything else they ask for. Sounds to me like you still need to read the CR1 instructions on here.

  4. Interview is only done at the Rio embassy and you (US citizen) dont have to be present. Only her. Immunization record is required to check if she has the necessary shots before entering the USA. If its been lost, she'll have to take them again. The credited doctor specifies which ones are necessary. My husband has his interview in 2 weeks but was able to get his missing shots at our local clinic. All other exams are done by a credited doctor appointed by the embassy.

  5. Like others have said, this is definitely a red flag. Do yourself a favor and DONT MARRY. When two people love each other, they mutually sacrifice for one another. He isnt doing anything. Have him go back. Move on. I've hated the 4 years i had to live in Brazil with my husband while i petition for his visa but I've dealt with it because we love each other and I was willing to leave my "luxuries" that I had back in L.A. In order to be together. Your fiancé seems to have a disorder. Cubans are known to be loud and have a strong personality but this is too much. Moving to miami wont fix things either.

  6. but how im going to show ties to my country if they just ask for a job letter and a bank statement ...explain what could be done

When you do your visa online application thats where they ask this information. Plus they have access to you social number and can see if you do in fact own things.

  7. Your mother in law shoukd visit Canada every year and then later on apply for USA tourist visa. It will definitely help her when they see that she has traveled abroad and comes back. I have a couple of friends who are women, young and single that were approved for tourist visa because they had traveled to Canada and England before and obviously came back to Brazil. They dont own property and have steady jobs.

Dont have her change her original story.

It really depends on the countries' embassy. It really depends on WHO they get interviewed by. I live in Brazil with my husband. He has one sister living in my state (California). When we were dating, he was denied the tourist visa because he was single, no ties and they asked him if he had any relatives so he said yes, a sister. Fast foward to now: my mother in law had never been abroad and never visited her daughter ever since she left (8 years ago) she applied for visa and was approved... To my shock. No property, never worked, below poverty line, lives in a slum etc. i guess it was granted only because they saw that in those 8 years she had no interest in Going to see her daughter. If it were any other person, they would try to immigrate in the first chance they'd get. So interviews are fairly relative like I said.

  8. I am really sorry that even though you sent your checklist with the cover sheet, usually if you send any documents without the checklist it will go out of the queue so I hope when you call the NVC they might be telling you that there is a packet of mail that needs to be reviewed am I right if they say that then that means your case went out of queue so you better contact your local Congressman/Senator.

I hardly understood anything you said. What is a comgressman or senator?? What for ?. What do they do?
