My EAD is in card production
That's great news! Did you get an email/text message about that, or did you first see it on your case status online? The reason I ask is because I wonder if it is even necessary for me to check my case status online, or if I should just wait for the emails. I read some people said they never got any emails/text messages after their NOA notifications, even though their case status changed online.

I don't see why not. As long as you have your new I-20 issued by the new school before you leave so that you can re-enter with that. Will your visa still be valid once you return?
-
Over 2 weeks since I responded to the RFE, and still on "Review" status.
Should I start freaking out?
Was there a time frame on the letter they sent stating how long you have to wait before you can call them? I don't think you have to worry yet, but if it will make you feel better maybe call the service center. They will definitely tell you how many days you have to wait.
-
yeah i was going to go sometime this week. But how can you request it? Last time i went there and i had to pay for the copy.
I am able to request a copy of ours online and pay for it online, but I'm not sure if it is the same in all states. Go on their website and see if it is possible, or call their office and ask if you can request one without going there in person. Then again, I wonder how long it will even take them to send it, so take that into consideration too.

We moved to testing and interview scheduling on July 21... Oklahoma City seems to be slow, I cant find any recent timelines from OKC listed on here. Anyone else from OKC area? What is a TN status?
Finally someone from OKC! We are few here on VJ. From the 2013 cases (unfortunately not very many either), it seems like a good 6 - 8 months waiting time from beginning to end.
Edit: Sorry to be off topic, I was just happy to see someone else here on VJ waiting at this slow office as well!
-
It looks like you covered everything. You don't need to submit your driver's license, but I guess it is not going to hurt anything either if you do.
I was at first not sure about the I-864ez, did not even know it existed (wish I did, I meet the criteria!). It looks like if you meet the criteria as stated on the instructions for the form, then you are good to go.
Good luck!

Thank you Pickle, I bet you get your notice today too.
Thanks for being so positive, it would be nice to get ANY update!
Edit: hang on, maybe not ANY update. RFE's are not welcome!

UPDATE!
I got a message that my EAD is in production to this morning. So happy things are moving along
That's great, congrats!
-
Update! Today I received an update saying Interview scheduled for Nov 6th. Said the mail was sent out yesterday 10/0514(Sunday????) It is still in Interview and Scheduling online however it has been scheduled.
Congrats!! Wow, yours are also less than three months from filing date, that's awesome. With Interview and Scheduling you mean Testing and Interview? That is the appropriate stage that you should be in (according to the little description they give with it on the website), it will change once you are done with the interview.
Good luck with the preparation!

yeah me too. That's the only thing i need for the interview. I have all other documents. Only doc i need to translate is my birth certificate.
Lol the clerk office is like five minutes away from the interview office. And both are like 45 minutes from where i live... Hmm
Maybe you can go on your interview day to get it (depending on your interview time)? But I bet you want everything ready before the day of the interview. So maybe you can request them to send it to you?

Received EAD today. It came really fast though getting approved after 36 days on 9/24/2014 without any expedition. My I-485 is the crazy one still stuck in acceptance in Nebraska and it's been almost a month since biometrics on September 8th. I wonder if they sent this EAD cause I'm gonna be in for an everlasting wait for it or something.
It is quite strange that it is in acceptance and not in initial review. However, those updates are not always accurate. Some people here on VJ already has their green cards, but their cases are still on acceptance And, you got your EAD fast, so I would say: don't worry, be happy!

You're welcome, and good luck with your AOS journey! Remember to fill in your timeline so that it can help others to give you the best answer possible when you have a questions about your case once you have submitted your documents
-
Since, as the beneficiary/alien relative, you will have to fill out two G325a's, you can check in both (for I-485 and I-130) "Status as Permanent Resident." Your wife will check on hers (for the I-130) "Other: I-130." That is what I did, and also other VJ'ers.
Like I said, some put "Status as Permanent Resident" on the petitioner's G325a, also without any problems.
-
You will check "Status as a Permanent Resident" on your G-325a form. For the one that the petitioner needs to fill out, you can check "other" and write I-130, or you can also check "Status as a Permanent Resident." I did the former, but I've seen people here on VJ do it both ways.

CDC was making the suggestion just this morning mandatory 21 day quarantine before travel coming for Anyone with a Visa ready to travel. I see the medical being a whole new thing now. Like getting it a week before you have interview.
After this numb-nuts who is here in Dallas lied now he has just messed it up for everyone and made everyone in Africa suspect. It doesn't have to become an epidemic in the US.With enough people run for the hills. People pulling their kids out of schools (its like that in Dallas). It will most def get worst before better.
Now a photographer that was on the plane with that infected man they say is in hospital now.
Oh wow, 21 days?! I wonder how they are going to implement that?
Isn't it just always like that, one or two people making it difficult for everyone else. I guess this was bound to happen at some point.
-
I don't see how it will actually affect visa processing for you if you are not in those specific countries (as stated in the link posted by Ebunoluwa). The only way traveling is affected right now is at airports where they use thermal scanners to see if you have a fever. I would assume that would just slow down going through security (not actually sure where the scanners are located). And if you have a fever, it will of course delay you boarding the plane.

Pickle,
I know!! Got so much organizing to do. I also feel kinda bad to jump ahead of everyone whILE everyone is patiently waiting over here. I wish they would expedite everyone's. Haha.
Apparently if I produce military orders at the interview, then its okay if my husband is not at the interview. He should just be available by the phone incase they are suspicious and want to talk to him.
I spoke to other military spouses and they apparently had no problem with the interview.
I can understand why you would feel like that in a way, but the rest of us are with our spouses even while we are waiting. You are not, so don't feel bad. I'm sure it will go fine. I bet you are so excited!

Okay guys,
I have crazy news!
First thing, my EAD changed to card production today and AP changed to post decision activity.
Second thing, my AOS application got expedited! I have my interview on October 14th, 2014! Crazyyy, I know.
The reason my case is expedited is because my husband is a active duty military and he is currently deployed. The USCIS website says deployed members can request expedite which will be evaluated case by case. We requested the expedite through the local congressman's office.
I am excited because Dallas is so backlogged right now that an October interview is a miracle.
If any of you are military families, you can call and try to expedite your case. The least they can say is no.
Excited and Nervous!!!
That is crazy, it's in 12 days!! It's great news, now you should start getting your things together quickly! I assume your husband will not be able to join you at the interview, so is there anything he needs to do from his end for the interview (since both parties should usually be at the interview in normal circumstances)? It is such a unique case, so I'm just curious
-
You can still get an RFE even at the interview, so I would say it is possible at any point while they are still reviewing your documents. so that you can get more accurate answers when you have a question about your case
-
another update! EAD/AP card delivered 1 day early. Have not made it home yet however it will be in my mailbox when I get there. This interview scheduling step is a bother tho. Just need a date so I can prepare.
In the mean time I wait patiently........
That's wonderful, congrats!
I think if you look at the rest of us that has not had any updates at all, you won't be that worried about the interview anymore
You had your biometrics on the same day I did, I have not received any updates since the biometrics letter.
-
I filed August 1st and we have our interview on October 16th. So things seem to be going well.
So fast! There is another member on the August filer AOS (from Work/Student/Tourist visas) thread from the Houston office that already has his interview. I've also seen others on older filer threads whose local office is Houston, and they also flew through the process.
-
So for those of you who are getting a little discouraged because of no updates, I was just reading the "Family visa" August filer thread. Looks like it is going a little slower over there, like with us who have not received anything.
-
I am in the same situation as you guys. I don't have another certified copy either. I have to go there again and get another certified copy.
I think it's a good idea to have an extra copy, since we still have to go through ROC and naturalization (if that is something you are going to do), and you never know when you will need another certified copy.
Hi guys today got the notices regarding EAD and AP,, but it says that my EAD it's in card production and the AP is just in Post decision activity, i hope they come toguether in the mail, and now just wait for the interview date i hope by the end of the week get some news!
It's quite common for the online status to be inaccurate, so it is still possible you might get them together. Let us know!
-
Thank you.
And the following is the list of the things to bring with us.
You must bring the following items with you. ( Please use as a checklist to prepare for your interview)
Thanks for sharing, Coco! Good luck with getting everything together.

Thanks, lala. So I guess I should keep checking it. Today was the first time I checked in a week (it's a record, used to check once a day!). I will try to keep it once a week...I will try...
