About to travel overseas, wondering if I can just take it out before and keep as a "souvenir"? Because I assume if I leave it on there, they'll collect it when I leave the country.. But it serves no purpose now that I have a GC, right?

Wait what? Ok sorry but I'm going to join in with this here.
Our plan was to file jointly once we were married and I had SSN. Are we saying we can't do this until I have my AOS approved?
No, you don't need to have your AOS approved to file jointly. You do need either a SSN or an ITIN, plus you need to include a signed statement declaring that you choose to be treated as a permanent resident for the entire year for tax purposes. And you cannot file electronically because you need to include this statement. There are several threads here on VJ that explain this but I don't have the time to look for them right now...

Congratulations! I have been wondering when you were going to be approved. Can we send in the paperwork 1 year and 9 months after receiving the temporoary greencard to remove conditions or do we have to wait exactly 2 years?
We can, and should (as I understand), send in the application 90 days before the GC expiration date.

Finally got the notice of card production today. A text said the case had been updated and logging in showed it was in production as of today.
Nov 22 filing until July 9th notice of production, its been a long wait. Now its just waiting on the card and two years of no dealing with USCIS!
About time..! Congrats.

EAD and AP are usually processed within 90 days, by the Nat'l Benefits Center. So even if your AOS went to CSC, your EAD and AP didn't. Did you apply for EAD and AP? They require separate applications which I don't see on your timeline..?

Does anyone know if this is 180 days from Receipt of Transfer, as of today its 135 days receipt and 93 since tranfer.
Thanks in advance
180 days from receipt by CSC, NOT transfer notice date! My transfer notice was dated 12/19, but CSC had already received it 11/25.

I hope your trip will go ok, I was told that your passport much match with the name on tickets. I did that few months ago, so I had maiden name on my tickets and passport, and married name on my green card. No one said anything and they didn´t ask for the marriage certificate but I would still carry it with me. Good luck!
Good to know, kiitos!

Awesome, looks like this is one of those situations where you can get screwed either way. Why? Because all common sense has been thrown out the window by the TSA in order to be "tough on terrorism". Sigh. Thank you everyone for chiming in, and cross your fingers for me, I really need this vacation!

Done. Completely counterintuitive as I've updated my married name into the population registry over there as well. But thanks Harpa. They better not give me any issues or I'll be seriously pissed...

The ticket name needs to match the passport name. I am not sure you will be able to board the plane. I would change the tickets to match passport name asap.
Really??? I took Vanessa (&Tony)'s advice, she has a link in her signature on how to travel on maiden name passport with married name GC, tickets in married name.

Great, I'm about to fly to Europe in a few weeks with my maiden name passport, married name GC and tickets in married name, I wonder how that will go... Bringing marriage certificate and whatever other evidence I can think of, I guess... I wonder if it makes a difference that my tickets are in my married name so GC and luggage tags will match?!

Interview done today. Really easy, took about 50 mins in the embassy, most of that time was waiting. They'll mail my visa within a week. They didn't look any of the evidence.
Onneksi olkoon!

Hi all
I'm wondering if it is possible to pick up your passport/visa at the Stockholm embassy a day or two after a successful interview?
Or do they only send it back by mail?
Thanks
I don't know about Stockholm, but I was able to pick mine up the very next day in Helsinki. Not their standard practice though, at the interview I was told it would be mailed to me, but I had a nice rapport with the lady who interviewed me and received an email the next day that my passport was ready for pickup, I'm assuming it was from her. I had asked her if she thought it would be realistic for me to fly over about a week after my interview, and I think knowing this she sent me an email as soon as my visa was ready to put my mind at ease. I thought it was very cool of them.

I'm inclined to think your home state has nothing to do with whether you'll be interviewed or not. We're in IL, no interview.
