Some cases take several years to be finished. Your lawyer only "estimates" based on the uscis website (actually it is 5 months now...), he doesn't have any power to specify an exact timeline for your application. Just be patient and optimist.

Several years? Some cases takes that long? Wow. I hope mine wont take that long. I checked USCIS website and instead of how many months they put March 2011 for I-485. Why does it says March 2011 and not 5 months?

I have a pending AOS. My lawyer gave me a specific month on when are we having our interview which is on March 2012. I live in Louisiana and I filed on Sep 9 2011. I am counting the months from when I filed and its 6 months on March. Is this the processing time in Louisiana? Is this true? 6 months seems too long. :/

No nothing at all. I guess because i did my biometrics almost at the end of Oct. So maybe I should expect to get something by Dec. :/

Im on the same boat. But you did you biometrics way early than mine. So im thinking mine will take alot longer. ;(

Same here. we have the same appt date on our appt letter the only difference is you did a walk in and I went on the actual date.

My wife used the AP. At JFK she showed this document and her passport. That was it. No questions. And it was long after her I-94 expired and long before she had her AOS interview.

Did you fly domestic or international?

UPDATE: We received a confirmation email from USCIS today that says that the EAD and Travel Document ( I-131) were approved . The card will be send in the mail this week . :dance: Green Card is next

Update on my case: I received an email today at 5pm saying that they mailed a notice of my interview on Nov 30.

What should I put on " I work or Attend School at"?

I don't work right now. Should I put the last place where I worked before?

What should I put on "if not a permanent resident my stay in US expires on?"

I put the expiration date on my visa which had expired already. And it wont accept date on the past. And I can't leave it blank.

Please help me!!!

I had exactly the same thing happen to me over and over and I ended up printing it off and sending it in by mail. Was a pain in the #### doing it on line

Done with my biometrics appointment today! But the lady who assisted me said that she will use my maiden name since thats the name on my passport which i used to show as a form of identification. I did not bring our marriage certificate. What is gonna happen on my EAD? All of my NOA's are under my married name. The lady said to call USCIS and tell them about my name changing. But they already know since I filed with my married name. Any advice?

One more thing. I applied for I-485 and EAD and AP. But on my Appointment notice it only shows I-485 and I-765. How about my I-131/AP? Does that mean they are not processing it? I got my NOA also for my I-131.

No you can't. While PR is a territory. You need a proof of the US residence to enter back. So you will need AP or a GC to get back.

I have my US driver license. Can I use that to come back to US If I go to PR?

I'm currently under AOS process and it is pending. I have 2 questions.

1. I wanna know if I can travel to Puerto Rico and come back in the US without any problem since PR is considered part of US but not a state.

2. How about going on a cruise?

Note: I applied for AP but I overstayed for more than 180days before filing AOS. I Know its no use. But I wanna know if I can go to PR without problems.

Finally got biometrics appointment for november 4, 2011 at 10 am... that was a long wait! but anyhow, im just glad it's here! anybody whose local office is Seattle? would you recommend a walk in? would be glad to hear feed backs

A Change-of-address with the Post Office will NOT HELP at all. THe US Postal Service will NOT forward USCIS or other government mail.

They forwarded mine to my new address. Since it still has my old address. I got my biometrics appointment in the mail.

I forgot about the medical insurance, thanks for reminding me. We own our car but the title is only under my name so it doesn't make sense to bring that. We will bring car insurance documents though.

And my timeline is filled, I'm AOSing from an employment based AOS application

life, medical insurance, car registrations.

We don't have a car registered with both our names only on the car insurance. Is that okay? And we can't afford medical insurance. We are getting life insurance though. My husband is getting it and put me as his beneficiary. Do i need to have one also and put him as my beneficiary?
