MAIL will take time for me so if anyone can say "yes" abt this to me...i wont think too much of it thanks ...

i read on the first post, what's DOS mean?...

1. It can be filled out the normal way. That's what I did for ALL my forms and had zero problems. Why an operator suggested that, I don't know. But remember, just because ONE operator said that, doesn't mean ALL of them will. It's just the opinion of one. Whenever you have a question like that, I always suggest asking a minimum of FIVE operators as their answers will almost always vary.

2. Follow what the country-specific documents want. Some want specifically originals, some want specifically certified copies, etc. Some countries aren't picky. For Canada, you can send either or. If you have the option, I suggest sending certified copies. Originals you can't replace, but you can always get more certified copies. I personally sent certified copies of both my birth certificate and our marriage certificate. Had no problems.

3. On the FAQ, I wrote a question about translations. According to NVC, if the documents are in the official language of the country where you'll be having your interview, then no, you don't need to translate them. BUT! Just because they may not be needed, I ALWAYS recommend sending in translations as I have seen people get checklists for not having documents translated. If you have the translations, then definitely send them along with the original/certified copies of your certificates.

Answers:

1. The DS-230 can be typed the "normal" way.

2. The issuing authority for some documents will only issue a "certified copy" of said document. The NVC requirement is that it be on the original piece of paper from said authority. Don't know what to tell you about your friend's situation or the hypothetical you speak of.

3. Does the Embassy require document translations? If so, send the translations, if not, then whether or not you send the translations will be up to you.

thank you, but more abt # 1. so why did the NVC say it must be in capitals? i'm just wondering i will TYPE not HANDWRITE it, so it must be *readable* ?? (well i still have to handwrite the date i sign it though)

and for #3. yes the embassy required the translations cuz all my documents are originally in Indonesian

1. my husband called NVC today, and he said:

DS 230 must be filled in capital letters. i've asked here and there b4, some people said we can just type it out in "normal way" so how cud NVC said it must be in Capitals? ........well it's not a big deal actually,i can just type everything in capitals (feels like shouting tho) also that i just don't feel like it to use *a Continuation Sheet* when i have no enough space to give my information ( u know when u use caps, the space is "narrower" :-/ if u know what i mean.

2. which one is BETTER? to send the ORIGINAl documents or CERTIFIED ONES? i have a friend who's just got RFE cuz NVC thought she didn't give the original of Divorce Decree, she said it's the original, now she didnt know what to do. so i'm thinking, even when u send the originals, NVC might think they are not :-/.........i'm worried about mine since it's in Indonesian.

3. do i have to include the TRANSLATIONS for each document in my DS 230 packet? (birth certificate and Marriage certificate)the originals are in Indonesian, and i have the translations ready (i got them translated @ a translator endorsed by the embassy FYI)

can anyone here kindly tell me what should the beneficiary do and prepare on this NVC stage? im so confused cuz i got so many different info

all i know is, i must:

1. fill out DS 230 part 1 and 2, sign part 1 only though

2. enclosed/prepare my photos (2"x2")

3. give Original/certified copy of my Birth Certificate

4. Give original/certified copy of Marriage Certificate

5. give copy of biodata passport

what else? should i sign any other documents? a tax form may be?? i heard abt this from a friend, is it true?

i'm sorry, i know there is a bunch of information here on VJ that i can read, but it's too many u know, and sometimes it's different (i know every case varies) but this Tax form-thingy makes me confused ...please help. Thank u

i hope for answers for my question regarding DS 230, #33. abt Degree or Diploma, what should i write? does it mean i have to choose one of them? i went to University, so i should write "Degree" or "Bachelor"??? and for High school to Elementary, can i write N/A?? please help...thanks

hi, thank u. i was talking abt #13,22 and 27 (about home address): all are the same and long. so did you mean i can write "half" of the info (of my address) and then write 'see continuation sheet"??? or it is better to just write the 'see continuation sheet" ONLY since it's a very short length of box?? and my address is super long like railways i hope u get me. sorry for my bad English

OMG! i am sepetmber 29 filler too...i think they just do it random. ( im getting so worried about mine. i might get RFE???

i called yesterday my noa1 is 09 28 11

and since they are working on sept 10th, they will not put in a service request, if you notice the uscis website, its stats as of 01 31 12, so as of that date they are on 5 months, so if you dont recieve anything by april 1st, then at that time you should be able to mput in a service request, i know it sucks, plus the woman yesterday was very rude about it..

i wud die if i dont hear anything by april 1st, cuz that means we will be reached our SIX months oh God forbid btw, i'm Sept 29 NOA1.

i read HERE that we (beneficiary) can email NVC isntead of MAILING them the DS 3032(Choice of Agent). that's it isn't it? once we email them the DS 3032, we don't have to fill out and print the form again?? or it is better to fill out and print it?? sounds a stupid question but i gotta ask thank u.
