I tried calling several times and it kept taking me to talk to an operator while it was down over the weekend saying to call on Monday. Is the 24/7 automated service down?

So as I was clicking post on the previous entry, I got called in for my interview and I just finished!!! APPROVED!! The IO was very friendly and nice. She asked me to name a war fought in the 1900's, how many voting members of the house, how many years we elect representatives for, who the supreme justice is, when do we vote for the president, and who the father of our country was. Then she went through the application and I decided to do a minor change in my name. Painless! I was out at 11am which was my original scheduled interview time. I'm now waiting for my oath ceremony letter which she told me would be April 19th. Thanks to all of you who have been on this journey with me, helping me along the way. I will post when I officially get my oath ceremony letter.

I thought I'd do a live blog of my n400 interview. I arrived at the USCIS service center at 10:35...went through security(oh by the, they don't allow water bottles). I checked in and there are about 15 to 20 people waiting for various appointments. As I walked in I saw a woman being handed her oath ceremony letter for a future date so I don't think they do same day oath ceremonies here. Another oath ceremony letter handed out for april 19th. I wonder what happens if your green card expires before the oath ceremony. Anyways, that's about it...I'll post more if there is any more interesting activity.

I read in another thread that somebody had expired GC on oath .... the officer just laughed, he had no problems

I have a question regarding for the schedule of interview. I had my biometric done last February 29th and until now I haven't received any mail for the schedule of my interview. What concerns me is that, my friend told me she received her letter for interview a week after her biometric. Please anyone have a clue?

from your timeline I am guessing your 3yr anniversary was around mid february?

if you see at other posts in this very thread, you will see these (interview scheduling) dates varies a bit ... not really an exact science on bio-to-interview prediction. The lady who took my fingerprints said it (clearance) may take upto four months.

what is happening to you is normal. There are people in this thread who did bio before me and didnot get a interview date yet. My parents and I was placed in line for interview on the same time, but theirs is not scheduled yet (different field office). So instead of comparing your times to your friend's - hang in there, if still nothing for 60 days, call nbc with the biometric ID number they gave you after you had your FPs taken.

I apologize. I guess this citizenship process has me on the edge. And I never understood people who have the "POST FIRST, READ LATER" approach to life

being on the edge is understandable .... though things will just run their course and we cannot do anything about it .... all the filers patiently waiting for N400 (or all the other USCIS/NVC etc) are eager to get it over with.

@jk0926 ..... your status is likely to change a few days before your anniversary date. From what I see (though somebody else claimed otherwise), you are not likely to be interviewed before your 5yr eligibility date. And yes, it is normal. I had my fingerprints on Jan 25, took them almost two months to get status updated. Some ppl in this thread (who got in line for interview scheduling) waited for more than 2 months.

My 3 year completed today and hence an update. I also placed service request earlier this week as well.

this pattern followed (update for interview schedule on or very nearby to 'resident since' date) for quite a number of people in other threads.

so I guess now I have a good 'forecast' on when my application will be placed for interview scheduling.

why wouldn't you just get a visa as a backup plan so that you can travel regardless of the timing of the N-400?

I cannot get a visa now since that is my native country and hold passport from there. That passport only contains an expired us visa. I cannot use that for transit in UK and Dubai or apply for a pre-arranged dubai passport (need the PR card for transit or apply for dubai visa).

I may get other backup plans ... but none of them are as straight forward as get passport by early may (which is unlikely to happen from what it seems).

I also have not seen anything on the biometrics for my wife and my guess is because it has only been about 12 months now since her last ones. I checked and her residency date is April 9th so I assume she will not be able to be interviewed prior to that date. (Is that the date listed as "EB" on some of the timelines below?) My only concern is we are planning a possible trip back to Ukraine in May and I do not want to have any schedule conflicts with this process.

EB stands for Early Biometrics .... these are the people who walked-in a field office earlier than scheduled biometrics date in biometrics letter received from NBC.

I am with the same concern too .... I have a scheduled out of country visit on end of may. I guess my interview will be scheduled before that (my resident since date is March 20) and hopefully the oath too. The problem is on oath we need to turn in our green card and receive the naturalization certificate and use that to apply for passport. I am afraid I wont have enough time to 1. get the new passport, 2. get new visa (or NVR-'No Visa Required' stamp on the passport from embassy) before my vacation on may.

Where did you get the June 1 date from? The last I heard was Aug 2nd.

Ok, I guess it is not clear from what you said.

1. Did you contact your congressmen (with all the release of information form and everything) ? If so, what ans did you get from them?

2. It is definitely out of appropriate time line for CSC IR1/CR1, what did the service request say? wait 180 days (which is 6 more months) ?

3. No RFE or anything?

FP done a month back ...no updates after that ... same for everyone?

same here, more than a month since I had my FP (not even early walk-in) and all I (and my parents too) got is a yellow letter saying we need to bring in state issued photo id.
