  1. If the per country limit will go to 15%, we are all screwd up. We won't see 2006 PD in F1 for the next couple of years as a lot more visa numbers will go to Mexico an Philipines. This change will only benefit countries that 7% per country limit is reached every year. If there is no change in visa numbers available for immigrants, more numbers from 226 000 will be taken from other countries share. So it means faster process for oversubscribed countries and slower for all others. That is so sad that they treat us like this. Hopefully the Senate will vote against it as it is hurtfull for most of us!!!

  2. My PD is August 20,2004 F1

Are you F2b whose parent got citizenship recently? I can't imagine anyone with 2004 PD who couldn't complete NVC process in a year (April 2004 was current in February 2010 even though there was a first retrogression it was still a current PD in January 2011).

We are glad to see some new people here, please let us know when you receive your interview letter next month. I assume that with present VB pace your PD will be current next month :).

We would really like you to keep us informed, even after your interview ( your interview experience :) ).

    Thanks

  3. Another F1 here. NVC completed my case on July 26, 2011. I'm waiting eagerly with you guys for at least some movement in the Oct bulletin. Honestly, I'd be happy even if it moved by one month. Just move, dammit!

So, it's been said that if there is any restoration in the dates for the bulletin, it'd likely be to pre-retrogression dates. My question is - what would would this pre-retrogression date be? Would it be January 2005 (just before it retrogressed to May 2004) or February 2006 (just before the retrogression first began)? My PD is October 5, 2006. I've been waiting this many years now. Gosh, I wanna be with my family so badly!

How long has it been since you all had your cases completed?

    Fingers crossed for you all.

My PD Apr 05 case completed around December 2010 and still waiting!!!

  4. Just something out of topic:

There is other forum - Familybased something :) ( I've tried to register there for some discussion few times and never got through. I think they are trying to get rid of people to close it - Just my thought) Can somebody let all F1 know that we are here on VJ and that they can join us so we can make this discussion more interesting.. More people more possibilities to estimate what's ahead of us.

  5. I agree that we should say only about F1 cases!!!! It's like saying I red on VJ that some F2A got interviews and we should start contacting NVC :) Early interview is a big mistake as your medical exam is valid for only 6 mo. moreover you will be called for second interview when your PD becomes current. Interviewing officer will never tell you when PD will be current because they don't know.

  6. Hi guys, joining this long F1 waiting trip too. My PD is October 19 2009, not approved yet, so long wait ahead :(

Hope that finally visa bulletin will start to move, been really frustrating year.

It took California service center (USCIS) 4 years to approve my I-130 :) So nothing to worry about. Suddenly they sent me RFE for proof of petitioners LPR status(was F2B then). I sent what they asked for and got approved. It was weird as all docs were sent with petition, but USCIS and NVC are famous for loosing important docs.

  7. I wish we could finally hear from someone who received interview letter. Just one sign of any movement for next VB!!! Still hoping for at least Jan 2005 :)

    To: Only_Wish

If someone already had interview and not received visa, that wont make any difference to us. They still (most likely) have to have interview and visas they'll receive counts toward New FY-2012 so less visas available from all 23400 for this year. That's sad but it's truth unfortunately.

  8. I've seen posts from people that completed their cases before retrogression, but never got interview!!. This is link to a profile of person with PD jan 06 who already had an interview but was told to wait for PD to be current http://www.trackitt.com/member/Blacky24 This person sent I-485 on sept 2010 then recieved RFE on oct 2010 and got intervie scheduled for march 2011. Sounds bad, but if you are in US, and your PD is current, and you file I485 you are granted EAD; Eventhough your PD gets retrogressed before interview all you do is wait for PD to be current. I think that there was like 270 000 F1 cases waiting in line as of 2010 ( http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/WaitingListItem.pdf ), If there is maybe 0.1% of them posting on diferent forums we will never know how many or if any of 2006 cases got their visas.

  9. Looks like we are all glad to see some other F1 members. It's good to know that other people have similar wishes to mine :) My dream was to see at least Jan 05 from January 2011 Visa Buletin. Unfortunately It did not come true, but staying positive and in good mood keeps us going :);) ;) ;) LOL to all F2A who are crying that 2-3 year waitnig time is unfair, for us it's almost 7 !!!! Good luck to all
