  1. Hi guys, so I am done with the interview and now waiting for my passport. Interview is really straight, just simple questions about the petitioner. What dose he do for a living? How did he move to the US? Then it is your part: have you ever been in the US, if yes then when your last entry was and for how long? Are you planning to get marry before you travel to US  ? When do you plan to travel?

Before it all starts, they go through your entire file and check if everything's there. You must submit updated police cert. then they ask you if the photographs are current. Because I had a new ones they swap them. AOS was for 2009, and they said it is still good, but they took photocopy of 2011 tax return and W-2 form (I had them with me).

So nothing to worry about just come earlier then your appointment because everybody needs to go through security check and it takes some time.

Good luck to all of you, and hope the journey ends for all of you soon.

  2. Yeah I have everything, so no big deal :) and may is still on. New police cert to get takes like 1 hour drive and 10 mins paper work so it's all done. Not like medical exam. it took me like a whole day; 5am took a train then 8 am - x-ray at one place than 10 am blood sample at another then go back to pick-up x-ray result around noon, after that pick up blood results at 2pm and have exam around 3 pm and it took me like 5 min to get it all signed of. I was back home around 7 pm; so it was a long day :) I am still surprised am so healthy :) So now we will see what future brings!!

  3. Oh and FYI already have my medical exam completed and have all docs. on hand. Unfortunately got a call from US consulate that my interview was rescheduled, and now have to wait a little longer :( . Got into a little chat with a lady and she told me that all I need is a new police cert. No tax returns, no photographs (I asked her about the photo and she said it's on file and not needed)

  4. hi for everyone

i think that most of us know that the annual numerical limit for a single country in f1 category is 7 percent of 23400 visa or 1638 visa.

And for f2b category is 1838 visa.

But iam wonder why a country like dominican republic get in year 2010 (3841) visa in f1 category and (12866)visa in f2b category!!!!!!

which by far exceed the annual limits per country and the same is happen for many years.#

even mexico which is the most heavy demand country did not get this huge amount of visas.

i think guys that dominican republic absorb our visas.

    #my reference is ncv statistacis

Maybe it is because family preference categories allows derivatives to join the petitioner and they are issued visas as well. If you have 2-3 children and not married then it is treated as 3-4 visas issued in that category. I am worried that it is another reason why the annual quota is being used and we see a little movement in VB. It's just my thought and am not sure about that but it might be a reason why we see so many numbers issued in one country. Please correct me if I am wrong but even if you are married and your PD becomes current in F1 you can always get a divorce that will allow you to move back to F1 pref. cat. and issue a visa to you and your children. And I think that derivatives visas don't count toward 7% annual limit.

  5. Julie-MC,

I asked Ansze the same questions when he received his interview letter.

And it seems like there was no mention of new Police certificate in the letter.

So lets wait for Ansze to have his interview, middle of May, and we both will have our confirmation.

It doesn't say anything about it in the letter but when I went to consulate website it says to make sure all docs are up to date, especially those with expiration date (police cert - 1 year, photographs should not be older then 6 mo.). So I already have a new one on hand just in case!! I'll let you know what is needed after interview.

  6. Hi guys

Just had my vaccination done this week and I have a medical appointment for next week. cost about 150$ for everything so not so bad !! Still worry about my blood pressure as anxiety is on the rise :) Only 4 weeks left and the pressure is hitting me badly ;) Just having doubts all the time and wish all goes well. Please keep your finger crossed for me. Good luck to all of You!!

  7. Congratulations anze!

When in may is the interview?

Did you get any instructions about medical checkups?

Also, I'm not sure where you are based, but wasnt there anything about updated/new police certificate?

BTW, after all is completed, where in the states are you moving to? unless you are there already?

    It's May 17

So the email has a pdf attachment and it says that for medical you need to follow online instructions. I read it earlier and it is just a formality. There are like 6 places across country that we can do the testing. All you need is to make all the blood tests and an x-ray in the morning and then have an appointment with a doctor for checkup after you get the results(can easily make it on the same day)

It doesn't say anything about police cert, but to be on the safe side I'll get a new one. All it takes is a visit to the court and 10 mins to get it. So no hassle here.

  8. Finally the email is in I am scheduled for interview in MAY

What is interesting that according to that letter I am not required to bring any new docs and everything I've sent to them is accepted. All docs from list are marked with either letter Y, O or F.

Y - the required doc has been received

O - the original doc has been received and accepted as meeting post requirements

F - this form is not necessary for this application

    It's a great feeling guys.

Little correction I do have to bring sponsors most recent Federal Income Tax Return, and new passport photographs

  9. It doesn't matter what date you give at the interview, as long as you enter the USA before:

    1) Your immigrant visa expires (6 months before the issue date).

    2) Your medical expires, which may be before your visa expires. Have seen folks make hasty entry to the US because their medical expires 3 days after they received their visa.

3)You or any other accompanying immigrant fails to meet some stipulation provided by immigration laws. Have seen were children a few days shy of their 21st birthday having have to leave their home country as soon as they got their visas. This is because the child didn't at the time of interview (wasn't needed) apply CSPA to their case so the embassy/consulate never made the proper provisions for the aging child.

What team are you rooting for?

Sorry guys if you misread my post :) was trying to get a little stress out of our shoulder and write something out of the box :) there is a lot of tension on this forum before the VB relase and we are all waiting for a good news.

About my national soccer team there are little chances we can win it but it's like with visa buletin as long as the ball is in play you never know what is going to happen :) :) :) the only thing we can do is wish for the best.

Thank you for all the info and I wish i would not have to "lie" at the interview that my team will win the tournament. So let's smile for a few more days before the Vb release and we shall see some positive news coming to all of us. Only positive thinking can bring us to the end of this journey :) :) :) Good luck to all the VJ members

  10. So there

is no interview leter yet, but I have a diferent problem. I see that they often ask when you are planing to travel to US. As much as I would like to move as soon as possible, i think it might be impossible. I would be moving from EU and there is a Europian

Footbal championshinp in June that i would really like be part of (soccer rulez) :))) So should I say that i will travel right after my team wins the tournament or should i keep it to myself ;)) and cheer for the best

You all guys rulez for being here for all of us. Best of luck to all of us !!!

  11. Don't know if you can do it now but back in 2003 I changed my status (it is not a visa stamped in your passport) from J1 to F1 and I have many friends who did it from visitor visa as well. The only problem was that it extended my legal status in US but didn't allow me to travel abroad. I would have to travel to my home country and go to consulate to get a student visa stamped in passport to be able to travel. Maybe something have changed since then, immigration laws change all the time. Good luck.

  12. Yes you must take summer semester classes to maintain your status. I had to take 5 month brake when I transferred to a college, but was lucky and it ended just few days after fall semester start. Otherwise I would have take summer classes per my international student counselor. If you have doubts go talk to one in your school; just do yourself a favor and don't talk to some student in front desk because they usually don't know anything. I almost got myself in big trouble after a chat with one those guys who think that they know everything.

  13. If you don't belive my case has similar timeline. I had a 2005 PD in F2B and my case was approved by USCIS in 2009, so my NVC number was 2009 in F2B category. Couple of months later I've upgraded my case to F1 (parent became USC)so now I have NVC number with 2009 and my PD is apr 2005 (F1) - current PD is 01 sep 04 and I am still waiting for interview.

  14. To Wisley:

MDR2009xxxxxx number has no reference to a PD. If your PD is 2003 your MDR number (which is related to a date USCIS approved your case and then sent it to NVC) might be ranging from 2003 to 2011. So the person with MDR2009708018 has a PD earlier then 15 AUG 2003 and the case was approved at USCIS around July 2009 and then sent to NVC for further processing.
