  1. I am working on starting a small business online. I will still be working my current job probably forever :crying: unless things with the business where to really take off some day. ;)

My question though is do I need to contact immigration to update their information to reflect this venture even though I am still keeping my job and if so what steps would I need to take.

We are currently past the adjustment of status part of the process and in between the next step which we will need to take next December. Thanks all for helping us to handle the immigration process

  2. Thanks for the info I will be sure and include the marriage certificate. Yes I know we have hotel and a 4 hour drive to get to ours in St. Louis.

On the notice for the biometrics appointment it says to bring the notice along and I.D. It sounds like they only want one I.D. on there. I just wanted to check in and make sure on what all needs to be brought for the appointment. Just the Notice and the I.D. or anything else?

Has anyone had any problems or situations come up at their biometrics appointment that ourselves and others could learn from?

Thanks All. Everyone has been so helpful.

  4. What is this visa numbe that is mentioned on the form. At one point it ask for a nonimigrant visa number?

    FAQs are your friend, LOL

6.2.1)...(newsgroup)...I-485 - Adjustment of status.... I am asked for my Nonimmigrant visa number, is this the one under the control number or is it the one at the bottom of the visa ??

A..(newsgroup)...On the adjustment of status forms, there is a box for the visa number. This is the red number printed on the K-1, not the visa control number. I know this because the interviewer went over the forms in front of us, and crossed out what I wrote in there (the visa control number) and replaced it with the red number.(Note: this is on the lower right side, under the "expiry date". It is not the long number written along the bottom edge of the visa.)

Thank you very much for the help.

  5. I tried to get our bank to set us up as having a joint banking account however since my wife does not

have a social security number they would not let us. Has anyone else ran into this. When we got married they just took a number down I believe it was off the visa in place of a social and it just seems odd that their would not be a work around for this. We are working on getting both Names on everything for providing evidence of relationship at the AOS interview.

Also on another note we are both together and happily married.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

By they I was talking about at the Court House when they were filling out the form for our Marriage liscense that is what the employee their did.

  6. Part 2 of this Form ask you to specify if you are sponsoring the principal immigrant?

Since their are no co-sponsors and it is only one person no other dependents involved I think the answer is yes but their explanation of it on the form is as clear as mud.. So can anyone verify this or explain this..Please/Thanks.

Also it ask on this form the name of my Employer. Do they want the name of the person my Boss or the name of the business that I work for?

Thanks all. Everyone here has been a great deal of help for us in getting this far. :)

  7. In some information I found on a nearby courthouses requirements for getting a marriage liscense it states this:

Proof of social security number is required at the time of application. A social security card or other valid document will be accepted

Now I thought many here had got married prior to getting their Social Security Card?

Will that apply only to me? Or is their a different law on this for the State of Missouri?
