  1. What do you mean that we should ask for multiple copies at the same time? We were planning to just go through ecensus (using the same addy that patientlywaiting provided above) when the bc is *finally* at the NSO. From what I understand, you can order multiple copies of documents there. Is that incorrect? Is there some other way that we should be ordering our documents so that we can order them in "bulk"? Thanks and ttyl,

    mich

What i mean is you can ask the LR and pay for 2 or 3 copies from the LR/NSO, when they get done making a BC they would send you the others along with the one you applied for. All on NSO paper, least thats what we did. All the BC are made by the NSO so either way you would still be going thru them on the eCensus site. We payed P120 each i think. Just saves some time and if you were going to use the ECensus site with your credit card it will save you money to do it thru the LR as well, I think it's 20 bucks a copy for a US Citizen thru the Census site.

It's up to you, just a suggestion. Either way it will get done the right way. :D

  2. Trust me it takes months for the BC to get corrected/done, also when they send it back from the NSO in Manila to the LR they won't send it 24 hour mail even if you offer to pay for it. It's just the normal 1-2 weeks snail mail. From the LR to the NSO in Manila they send it 24 hours.

Added a link to list the NSO offices in Manila.

Not sure if it's the one you guys need but my fiancee used the telephone number 011-63-2-713-70-63 for the NSO in Manila who is correcting her BC, I would guess it's the same Department. You can also ask the LR for a phone number to the NSO. E-mails are a waste of time. They ask for the number of your BC when you call also. It's been 3 months for us already and it will be one month more according to the NSO. They really take so long to do a simple request.

You are also better off if you need more than one copy to ask them to send you a couple more when they get it done, It's cheaper and faster IMO.

  3. I prolly should have done this but it was hard to tell when it was going to be done...still is. I called them tonight August is all booked up :( I need to send a request for a interview date, i think i'm going to send a early request form also and try to get it for late August. If we don't i guess we just get it for Sept. :clock:

Faxing them an early request form is probably the best thing you can do. Make sure you have all your and your fiancee's contact numbers in the form. Good luck!

    Thanks!

Only thing is they want documented proof of some kind of emergency or something.....oh well, i will try anywayz! :D:thumbs:

  4. Hey wind, once your fiance gets the BC, you don’t have to wait for August interview. You may want to send a fax to the embassy to inform them that she is now ready for the interview and if they could set a new interview date already. I’m sure the embassy will queue her ahead once they receive your request. You’ve done time already by waiting to be scheduled in February, it just so happened she wasn’t ready with her documents. Remember though that embassy won’t probably inform you once they approve your request. What you can do is to check the interview schedule in their website every now and then. If I remember correctly, this was how john_and_marlene found out that their request for a medical expedite was approved.

  5. Good news this week, we are on the last step of getting her BC corrected :D GOing to try to call the Embassy tonight. Just wondering if they still take calls thru the main number or am i going to have to pay the 18 bucks and not get very good info :( Anyways, we are praying that we can get a interview date for late August.:dancing:

  6. That link is for the U.S. Embassy Manila, U.S. Consular office. It is accurate to my knowledge so you need to look at your case number and check the website on a monthly basis. My case number was assigned in March 2006 and its not yet showing on the interview list but it looks like it will when the August release is listed. Seems to be a 5 to 5 1/2 month wait from your NOA2 until you get the interview in Manila.

You can call the U.S. Embassy Call Center Number at 1-888-877-9888. There is a $18 charge for this and you can use it twice. They will charge your credit card. However, you will be able to talk to a live Embassy consular staff member and they can confirm that they received your package. Hope this helps.

That's a waste of money, if you live in the U.S. Just call the main office and it only cost your regular long distance per min and they know more than the call center. Also the DOS knows the interview dates before the Embassy releases them. I forgot the number :(

    Thanks for the reply,

I forgot to tell you that after they send it back to the LR then they send it back to the NSO in Manila again and then back again to the LR. We are on like step 4 of 7 or 8. Very stupid and time consuming, that's why i said a August interview date. My concern is that i send them a fax now and ask for a date in August and then not get the paperwork done in time. But if we wait till it gets done and try to get a "expedited" interview and they say no, then we wait another 2-3 months. :bonk: Hehe, we also have the year time limit thing which is up at the end of September.

The embassy told me to make a date 2 or 3 months ahead of time, not sure if they will let me expedite or not. One question for whoever wants to answer, our interview date was Feb. so all my documents are dated then. Also my Tax papers are from last year and not this year, i wonder if i need a new AOS and send this years W-2's and tax return. :help:

Hard to keep our heads up but we are trying, I sure know how you guys on AR feel :D

  8. We did try to encourage the "lurkers" to get themselves listed. Maybe, they're too shy, I don't know. I'll try to keep this thread alive until after we're done with the May interviews. And if we don't get any additional listing, we don't have much choice but to just let this thread die a natural death...

... but someone else can resuscitate it later :innocent:

Don't worry, i'll be waiting for awhile. People at the NSO in Manila do nothing fast, they said they would send my fiancee's BC back to the LR for over 3 weeks now and they haven't. They keep saying "oh, we will send it tomorrow maybe" Very annoying for us cause we are just waiting on them so we can get a new interivew date. We've tried to explain that but they really don't care :( We were hoping for August but i don't see that happening now :clock::cry: Hehe, always bad news!

  9. R & W

I am K-1 . I am getting a little worried. Rosemarie is having a hard time finding coberrating paperwork for Josh to get his passport. Need to get his BC changed, but how much paperwork does a 9 yr old in the PI have. Just BC and probably Baptismal certificate. Soooooo, I still have 2 weeks , but I might just have to go ahead with bringing Rosemarie over here first

That should be enough paperwork for him, she will need all her paperwork and maybe some of the fathers. You don't have any school records of him?

  10. Disregard my last post, i didn't see your last post

Well Rosemarie is filing for the petition change tomorrow; they ( the NOS ) say they can do it in 3 weeks but I dont believe them. Soooooooooooooo

I get confused by that response they gave her, the only thing i can think of is like PW said they just change the BC on NSO paper but not in the system, which i think can be a problem.

if they go to manila where the records are input to the system wont that solve that problem, we'll know in 10 days (philipineen time) if what yove did is correct or not.

Best way to tell is just goto the local NSO and get a copy, only takes a day or two. That will be whats in the system. Anyways, with your connection i would guess it is right.

  12. Windchaser 4 :

Here is the deal; her father changed the spelling of the name using a "s" to a " c" every other letter in the last name is the same.

Rosemarie's name on her sons BC is " Rhea Rose " her baptismal name, Rosemarie has all correct documents BC, college ID, Post office ID all with Rosemarie and the correct spelling of her last name

Now here is what I thinking :

Option 1) Go ahead with the interview as planned and see what flies ??

Option 2) Go ahead with interview as planned , just with Rosemarie, kid is sick and see if she can get her visa approved; leave him in limbo, will they do that ??? Fix later

Option 3 ) Postpone interview and wait for correct BC to get correct passport

St lukes physcial is good for 6 months, correct and they do need a passport to take it ?

    Thanks

    Brad

I'm assuming then that her sons last name is also a "S" not a "C". Just my opinion but if you can prove that that was her name when her son was born i wouldn't see a issue with her first name, the only thing i worry about i guess is the last name typo. I hate to tell you to go ahead and goto the interview and then get denied, i would think they would just give you a AR for him if they wouldn't accept it but that's not based on fact or knowledge of how they do things. I think it also depends on the Consular you get. If it were me, i would call the Embassy and ask about the specific problem with the BC, they can't tell you how to fix it but they may be able to tell you if you might get denied or not.

I think your option #2 might be correct, if everything is in place for her they may approve her and not him. But we are only K-1 so my knowledge about that isn't 100%. The only thing about St Lukes is that if you have to correct the BC 6 months may get tight i dunno, i hope ours is faster than the 3-4 month time.

Take it as you will, i would hate to tell you one way and then it go way wrong. You can always play it safe and get it change but of course that is your call. ^_^

  13. actually windchaser if you will check my post history you will see on feb 16th i posted that yove had a problem on her birth certificate we had it corrected by march 6th. she left for her province on feb 20th do to the fact that the airport only flies to her province monday wensday and friday. we had to pay for a clerk from her province to fly from her province to manila on wensday she stayed with yove in her apt. they flew back friday of that week. we had to pay a weeks wage for the clerk and ,buy her ticket both ways. the following monday is feb 27th she applied for a new passport (i guess it faster in her province) she had the passport the following week.

now the problem with yoves birth certificate was typo of her first name they made her first name look like LLovemyl instead of Yovemyl they made the y look like two L's instead of a Y maybe last names require more work or maybe you were unaware that the clerks can go to manila to correct the problem providing your willing to pay for there time. thats more then 100 dollars plus yove stayed with the clerck the whole time. also her family is very well established family ,and well known in the community im not sure why. but it took exactly 2 weeks. feel free to send me an private tell if you require additional proof im sure i can show you her new birth certificate, i also had a lawyer involved from manila who has double checked everything and its in order

More power to yah if you did that way legally i just don't see how that is legal according to the law but you know how things work in the Philippines. Anyways, we talked to lawyers, NSO in Manila and the Local Registry not to mention the laws in place. They gave us no other option but to file locally and wait. We even ask to do it in Manila but they wouldn't let us because her hometown has a LR. So here we are waiting for almost a month now.

  14. Hello everyone..I have question about that CFO seminar. The gal I spoke with from cfo manila said I dont need to make an appt for my fiance..its a walk in basis. All he has to bring is 3 identification card and the 250 pesos. The time is either 10-12, 1-3, 3-??...so its not really a whole day seminar..more like 3 hrs? Am I right? Kinda confuse with the location..the gal said its on Aurora Blvd, but the address on the website says 1345 president quirino ave????

Plss help...do I have the right info?

    Thanks again.

    Catherine

Not sure on the location but i know they wanted info on the K-1/K-3 petitioner also, they wanted my tax returns to show i was single. They actually wanted all the copies of my fiancees papers i sent her for the interivew! I said NO WAY! of course. :D I just made a copy of my tax returns that had the case numbers and SS# blacked out. no way i'm giving that info to a government worker from another country i don't know. Anyways, they want alot of info on you also. They wouldn't give my fiancee the cert. for a Passport until she did. Yes, it's first come first serve, althought i would get there before the time for the seminar because they don't have many people a session and it takes time to fill out the paperwork. Thats what my fiancee learned.

  15. Ok I would appreciate some input from the group.

As I am typing this my fiance is getting her passport , now

In 1996 when she gave birth to her son she was using a different name ( baptismal ) that was placed on the birth certificate. Also , for some bizzare reason , her father changed the spelling of the families last name by one letter

Ok, as far as Rosemarie's I -129 is concerned and other picture ID , and her own birth certificate they are correct, it is her sons. It is his birth certificate that is ascue; he is included on her visa petition

Now I was thinking her are my choices

    1) Go ahead with the interview and physcial on May 9th and 16 th , see what flys ???? Get the white slip /AR and go from there

    2) Postpone the interview and physcial , and get the new correct birth certificate/ passport ; then get them to their physcial and interview together ??? 2 months for correct one to be issued thru the NSO ??

Is there a rush processing fee I can pay the NSO ???

It is kinda boiling into a logistics problem being he is 10 yr old and in Cebu ?????

    Good luck and Thanks

    Brad

yove just went through a similar situation we had everything corrected in 2 weeks new birth certificate an new passport to match the application

This is not accurate at all, you can not "Legally" change a BC in 2 weeks. Trust me i know, i wasted 100 bucks. It takes 3-4 months time to correct a BC if it's a typo. You can't change names without having a lawyer and going to court. There is no rush processing for NSO, if anyone says so they aren't doing it the legal way. NO ONE in the NSO offices have the authority to change a BC, you have to file with your Local Registry or Consul General. Consul General is the only one that can approve a change and just the mandatory wait time is around 25 days. It's pretty big jail time if you get it changed the fast way and they never changed it in the system and the Embassy inquires about it, which they most likely will if her and her sons BC aren't the same.

I assume by ascue you mean his last name is different. If you want to correct it and it's not a typo it takes 3-6 months to change. A lawyer in Manila told us that also.

My advice is either to just try with what you have and be honest or postpone the interview like i did and file for a change. In my situation we had no choice but to postpone it and correct the BC, because we would prolly have got denied. We decided to take the extra 5 months or so to get it right and not have to worry about getting denied or worse.

I have a link that shows how to go about a change and lists the requirements. http://www.census.gov.ph/data/civilreg/irr_ra9048.html

Let me know if i understood your situation right.:yes:

  16. Hi Wind! We had a pre-trial conference at the court yesterday and another hearing is scheduled on May 23. Looks like I'm gonna be here for a while. How's your fiancee's BC coming along? Have you set another appointment with the embassy?

We will find out in a few days i guess, it's in Manila and they told my fiancee to call back in what will be 2 weeks her friday. They are suppose to starting working on it within 15 days from when it gets to Manila, i'm hoping they can give us a time period so that we can set up another interview date.....that's the plan for now. Getting a little eager tho because we want a interview by the middle of August and i heard that June is out. Anyways, like you it could be awhile. :( maybe even longer if we have to wait 2 weeks to get that proof of being single from the NSO.

  17. My Fiancee finally got to file for her BC correction, so many requirements in a country that is bad at keeping records and even worse at charging corrupt prices for documents. I'll share a few storys of many. She needed a college transcript so she went there to get it and they wouldn't give her a copy without paying 3 years of Alumni fees! Then she needed a copy of her moms baptismal cert. but she wasn't a catholic anymore so they wouldn't give her a copy! Bawo, very nerve racking. Anyways, they gave us a 3-4 month window to complete the correction. Hopefully they will approve the BC in Manila without any problems. :innocent::clock:

Sorry PW, i haven't been on her much to update stuff.

  18. That's not Manila, it's from the DOS. I can't remember where it was but they don't use the years tax returns until that July date. Of course then they don't use the new poverty guidelines until then either. According to what i read. I don't see the big deal, you don't have to file until April 15th so why would they use the tax returns?

  19. Maybe not the right forum for this but this is for the Philippines. I hope you guys have been keeping up on the "State of Emergency" in the Philippines. Pretty sad stuff happening and I feel bad for the citizen that have to go thru this. Of course i'm concerned about my fiancee too B) I fear if it gets much worse the effect on the visa process and the flow of government agencies, Manila seems to be a mess and i'm am actually thankful that my Fiancee isn't there this weekend for what would have been our interview date. I guess God is in control after all. :D

Anyways, not trying to be depressing but i thought people should know what's going on in Manila if they haven't heard already. The control the President has on the country now would be a scary thing for me if that happened in the U.S. Reminds me of the Marcos dictatorship. I hope all you ladies in the Philippines keep safe and hope it doesn't effect your visa process. Here is a few links you want to read the latest: http://news.inq7.net/index/index.php
