My wife's Journey is almost coming to an end. Her ceremony is 02/17/2016. Can't wait to see her waive the little American flag.

Sorry to hear that Pocho. The good thing is that the journey shouldn't take much longer once you've responded to the RFE.
FYI, in our response we tried to stick to what the IO asked for:
- Joint bank account statements
- Credit card statements
- Utility bills
- 2012 to 2014 Tax return transcripts which you can order for free by phone (8009089946). It took 5 days to come in the mail.
- Apartment Lease Agreement
- Health Insurance documents showing we were covered under the same plan
Fabadu, thanks for the encouragement. We have sent the docs in and hope they just don't come back requesting other items. It's just been a long journey for my wife and myself and just want to put it behind. Thanks and good luck.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that I had a status update today saying "My Oath Ceremony Notice was mailed", which is nice to hear since I was probably the only August filer who was given an RFE at the interview. My response to the RFE was sent on November 25 but received on November 30. I will get back to you when I know my Oath Ceremony date.
Thank you for all the support! And for those still waiting I wish you all the best! It looks like even with RFEs things go pretty fast so that's good!
To all N-400 filers, my wife had her interview today and was given an RFE for proof of marriage. My assumptions fall in line with "fabadu" We thought we provided all proof of marriage when we applied for the ROC. Unfortunately, we were wrong. My wife informed the officer we can provide proof of insurance, as I was waiting in the waiting room, but didn't concern him. My wife said the test was easier than taking her driving test. She past the written and verbal portion and just need to provide the RFE.
If you are scheduled for your interview, make sure to bring additional copies of spousal relationship. I'm only guessing this, as we applied for the 3 year period of being married to a U.S. citizen, The most frustrating part was they were having the Oath Ceremony today. C'est la vie!
So, the Journey continues.....

2015 US Passport Application Tracker List -
Very easy biometrics today-- took under 10 minutes from when I first entered the building.
I have a question though. My interview will probably take a while to be scheduled, since I am still about 2 months from the 3-year anniversary of my GC. It seems very likely that I will have the interview in late October or early November, going by my local office timelines. I have some travel planned for around one week around that time which I will not be able to reschedule. Also, my job involves important weekly meetings every Thursday which I cannot possibly miss.
I'm hoping my interview will not conflict with the one-week travel or on Thursdays. Is there any point writing a letter to USCIS or to my local ASC requesting that they avoid certain dates for the interview? Or is it better to just wait to see when the interview is scheduled and then ask for rescheduling if necessary?
No need to call. Just wait for your appointment and if need to make the change. It would be easier. They probably wouldn't care if you called now. Good luck.

No brother I sent them the entire return with deductions and 1099's. I am an independent insurance agent and some of my 1099's came in handwritten. They accused me of hand writing them myself. The whole thing is absurd since my income was over the necessary level and I paid the taxes on the income. Now they are wanting a transcript from the IRS on my 2014 returns. The thing I can't understand is they had that stuff the whole time. I also sent in my 2013 return which had 1099's handwritten also. This is standard procedure when you have 4 to 5000 dollars given from x insurance company and y and z etc etc. They asked for this return on my first 221-g and had it for 6 weeks then approved our visa. 9 days later they pulled the approval. This is how you introduce new immigrants my fiancee to America... Oh sorry, we're a bunch of liars here in America. We love to screw you around and approve you and then play with your emotions by pulling it back. Very unprofessional imo.
I know the frustration you are experiencing and the lack of professionalism you have to endure. I too had many sleepless nights and finally involved my local congressman for help, as they had an immigration person working with them. You may consider this route too. Good Luck.

Sorry about your frustrations, but you are almost done with this process and will get easier.
I'm not sure what your timeline and what the last year of your tax returns were, but I would think that during your application process, they didn't receive 2014's copies. All they want to know is that you did file your 2014 tax return and that possibly you don't owe the other government agency "the IRS"
Hang in there and I can understand your current state of mind.

. Would it be nice if they would just cashed the check and send you $5 instead of the whole package or you can just call and tell them " just keep the change" it could've been less hassles, right? LOL!
You're right. they should just keep the money and call it good, but that would be too easy. As you and I know through experience, this may not be the case. I'm hoping they process it. If not, I hope I can still be on the August 2015 filers :-) I'll keep everyone updated. As I believe this may help others in the future.

Hello all. I was reviewing my file and noticed that I wrote my check for the wrong amount, $5 over. For the last year, as I was preparing my wife's paperwork, I must had been rounding up the totals. Knowing the USCIS, I have a funny feeling, my packet will be returned. Hopefully soon, as USCIS will be updating/changing their forms after Sept.

I think you may be asking me what I submitted. Don't worry, I too was stressed and felt like I did not submit enough evidence, but I think, since this processes is very stressful and one cannot just call USCIS and speak to them (Help Desk is useless) one just only speculates and prays for the best.
Here is what I sent them and I just followed what was in the I-751 Booklet.
- I-751 Application for both wife and step-daughter
- Check in the amount of $675 ($505 + $160)
- Copies of Green Cards
- Copies of passports (wife and stepdaughter)
- Copies of 2012 and 2011 Tax returns
- Copies of joint finances (letters from banks and credit cards showing my wife on the accounts/ complete quarterly bank statements with transactions and deposits/ Letter from 401k company stating my wife as primary beneficiary/ copies of wife's paychecks)
- Copies of joint health insurance (this included health invoices with my wife and stepdaughter)
- Copies of joint memberships (zoo-health club- Costco)
- Copies of household commonalities (copies of junk mail, invoices from Amazon, travel itineraries with the whole family)
- Copies of Affidavits

Thanks for the comments. I guess for myself and all of us here on VisaJourney, the whole process of bringing your spouse/family member(s) is truly stressful enough. There were times I wanted to give up... I truly appreciate all those who have posted on this site and it seems we are all in this together.
I guess one seems to second guess on what information is provided to them and if you provided "enough" supporting documents to prove your case. As you have probably have experienced, the 800 telephone helpline is literally useless and one just can't get on the telephone and have a constructive conversation with them.
Enough of my emotions, as this has truly been one "heck" of a Journey and well worth it. I wish you and everyone the best.

I truly believe USCIS has all the information they need to process the ROC, as I felt I sent them very minimal information. Personally I felt I sent them an incomplete package, reading everyone's posts in VisaJourney. As per the application booklet, I sent them what was outlined in it. Since I am somewhat established, there was very little proof I felt I was able to provide USCIS. I already owned a house, cars and somewhat establish, I felt there was little information I could provide them.

There has been a lot of sleepless nights these last few days and glad this is finally over. I was worried I did not submit enough evidence and was dreading the infamous RFE. No RFE's just good news.

I think what you may be inquiring about, is that you want your fiance's son to immigrate with her to the states. If so, you will have to have the father go to the Amphur and sign the release to allow him to immigrate to the U.S. This will be required by the consulate if you want him to accompany her when she immigrates to the states. If the father does not want to sign the release, then you may have some legal matters to deal with in Thailand.

Sorry for the late response. I do know there are some Thai grocery stores in Aurora, but since we're on the north side, here is the places you requested. In addition, on the south side, there is a Wat in parker, but do not have the name. If you contact the temple in Denver, they can provide you the info.

Welcome to VJ! My wife and step-daughter have arrived since February on an I-130. Like many people in this forum, everyone is always willing to help and is a good support group. This site has been very supportive during my stressful time of dealing with all the U.S. government agencies. I wish you and everyone still on the journey, much luck.
As you patiently wait for your spouse, my only suggestion is where ever you will be living at, make sure you find a good Thai or Asian grocery store. Lucky for me, I have one very close to my home here in Colorado, that my wife can find all of her ingredients for her Thai foods.
In addition, there is a Thai Buddhist temple in Denver and Parker. My wife has found new friends and some from her home village near Chiang Rai here is Denver.

I had my congressman help with my wife's I-130 and explained the situation. The NVC receieved the initial payments but had all of the required documents they would have requested forwarded to BKK. As mentioned before and on many VJ cases, nothing seems to be set in stone with USCIS/DoS. So contact your local congressman's office.
