  1. Because he will submit the forms required when he checks in before the interview and that will give them time to look them over. As with the police clearence and medical and all they come from offical places so they do not have to validate them.

That's very interesting. My husband is from Lebanon and we are entering the NVC stage. I wonder if this will be the same case for Lebanon. :innocent:

  2. I'm not sure why CSC is so backed up. I called over a week ago and was told that CSC was working on I-130s (CR1/IR1) were being processed from April submissions.

I received my NOA2 today.....YEAHHHHHH!!! I don't know how they work behind the scenes or in what order. I was very surprised to see the approval notification by email and on USCIS' website.

I wish for a speedy NOA2 for the rest of you that are anxiously waiting. May God continue to bless you all.

  3. all the questions about our relationship he knew. like when we met, how long we been together, but then they start asking questions like how many ppl were in my school and when did my parents come to america and what did my half brother and sister do for a living. just stupidness. I don't understand y they did that to him? We knew each other 7 months b4 we got engaged. and we were together a year and a half b4 we sent the petition. by time he had his interview it is not 2 years. They didnt even look at ne of the proof or evidence we prepared just said at the end when he asked y they denied him "you dont know ur fiance enough, and u can have another chance after u get married to her." the treatment was very unfair. he didnt even have a chance to prove nething.

I'm so sorry to hear about the denial. Morocco is a very tough embassy. You just never know what type of questions that they will ask and how deep that they will go. I've read a lot of VJ'ers interview experiences with the US embassy in Morocco.

Don't give up on your relationship or this process, just learn from it and be prepared when you chose to file again...whatever route you decide to take. You can look at other VJ members that are from Morocco and read about their interview questions and their experiences. It may be very beneficial if you are there when it comes time for the interview.

My husband is from Lebanon and I know that he will be more scrutinized than individuals from other countries. He has never been to the US, but he knows a lot about my family and close friends, but if the CO asked him how many people were in the college I attended, he wouldn't know, and I certainly don't know. :hehe: The CO was was really digging deep to see how well your fiance knows you.

Good luck...don't give up. You will be united with your fiance.

  4. Sorry to hear that. Never give up. My fiancee was denied her first K-1 visa application on Sept. 2010 and I applied for the second K-1 on April. Today, after 31 days AP, her visa is approved. I advise you not to give up.

    Good luck

    Excellent news...Congrats.

  5. Greetings

On sept 12, USCIS received my case and sent my NOA1, sending my file to CSC. What should i be doing now while waiting? I will be using my sister as a co sponsor for support to bring my wife here as i was not working, by choice, in 2009 and as such dont have any income to show for it. i have been working since may of 2010, but will be stopping again in November of this year and then will be overseas with my wife, both in her country, the UK, and abroad from there as well and really need to have all my paperwork in order as best i can before this time. does any one have any suggestions on what i should be doing now to get this all started, as it will become more difficult for me to gather all the necessary paperwork once i leave the states.

    Thanks for you help

    Be well

    Zac

Sit back and enjoy the ride. :) Start looking that the NVC process and the documentation that's needed by both you and your spouse. There are several great resources on VJ's website on how you can speed up the NVC process. Here is one resource: James's Shortcuts

    Good luck and best wishes.

  6. I can understand your frustration with having to prove that you have entered into a bona fide marriage and having someone asking for additional proof. Provide everything and anything that you have to show that you and your spouse have an ongoing marriage. All of the documentation that EAbbas recommended are the kinds of documentation that they want to see. The more documentation that you can obtain, the better. It's better to have more than less. You just never know what the CO is going you for during your interview.

Do not go into the interview feeling frustrated as this may hurt the outcome. Remember, the interview is the final stage on whether or not the visa will be approved.

    Good luck my friend.

  7. Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to change your passport to your married name (Phil. Consulate in NY)? I will have to immediately change my passport name because the greencard will be under my married name and I might have a problem reentering the U.S. even if I bring my marriage certificate right? Is there any form of rush service? I plan to travel on January.

    Thanks for any advice!

I changed my last name on my US passport and I did it through surface mail. It only took 2 weeks to get it back along with the rest of the original documentation I had to send to support the name change. You can expedite your passport, you just have to pay an additional fee. I didn't expedite mine and it was still pretty quick.

  8. When my relationship started with my now husband, I never thought of keeping records of my boarding passes when I went to see him in Lebanon. I do have the visa stamps in my passport and itinerary as well as the purchase of my airline tickets. If I knew back then that our relationship would have evolved to what it is today, I would have saved everything. I will be visiting him in November.....YEAHHHHH and will make sure I save all the boarding passes. :)

  9. Please cheer up as she wasn't denied the visa. Try to gather additional proof that they are seeking and re-schedule another interview. I totally understand how you feel when you said that one person holds the future of your relationship in his/her hands. We have to prove that we are in a real relationship and no matter how much documentation you provide, sometimes it's not good enough. Another individual can present the same documentation and their visa is approved. We have to fight hard to be with our loved ones. Keep your spirits up...easier said than done. Your fiance will get her visa.

    Best wishes.

  10. Hopefully, it was a good thing that the IOs came out and they were able to determine that you and your husband are living together. Some leasing agents are lazy and they will just hand write and add an additional leaser rather than typing up a new lease. Once the IOs confirm that that is what the manager did, you should be good to go.

I wish you all the best and hope that your husband will get his approval in less than 3 months.

  11. This is crazy...I am looking at the timelines and VSC appears to be taking approximately 1 month to approve cases while CSC is taking 3 or more months. So sad! I hope CSC catches up real soon. This is just so frustrating! Has anyone that received NOA1 in July/August from CSC seen any touches or any NOA2 that were not expedite cases?

Yes, it is frustrating because there is no rhyme or reason on how they are processing I-130s. There have been people who filed as late as August 2011 and already have their NOA2s without an expedite. Check out IGOR's List.

Good luck to all. Hopefully, we will hear something good.

  12. They told me the same line of ####### yesterday. They said my case is completed and closed but that they contacted the embassy and were told no interview dates left for October. I personally know this to be a line of ####### because I have spoken with the embassy and there is plenty of availability. Our country processes very few applications each month.

When I questioned the NVC operator about this she said they will only try to schedule the interviews the 1st and 2nd week of the month. So it sounds more like NVC only doing the scheduling the 1st and 2nd week NOT the embassies. She recommended for me to contact the embassy via email to give them my info and notify them that my case is closed and request for a October date. If a date is available the embassy will contact NVC for us and request our package be sent to them. I am going to do this today! Each time I have asked the embassy a question they have responded super fast so here goes nothing... Praying for the best!

I hope you are able to get an interview date earlier from the embassy than NVC. Good luck and best wishes.
