  1. My husband is from Lebanon and I'm 10 years older than him. When he was interviewed by the CO, she asked him about the age difference. This is not the norm and I did worry about it. He replied, "No matter how old she is, she's still my baby angel." It's a shame that people are judged by their age differences in this day and age. Love is love....you can't contr who you fall in love with.

Just speak the truth about your relationship and age difference.

    Good luck!

  2. I'm sorry to read the events that took place within the last 48 hours. Intent to immigrate is always something that DHS looks out for. I hope your surgery goes well and that the lump is benign. I agree with the majority...file a CR1 when possible and gather all of the facts as others suggested. Good luck.

  3. No I haven't converted. I said it because it's a nice thing to say, especially in the MENA forum. Why do you feel the need to be so rude? If I had said God bless would then you would have accused me of something else. This forum is about helping people on their journey, not insulting them. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it. And grow up.

My husband happens to be from Lebanon and I did not convert to his religion...and believe me, I have a strong back bone!!!! I'm learning to speak Arabic just as anyone else who marries a man from a different country. That comment was uncalled for and very rude!!

I am older than my husband (10 years) and we had no problems. We went through the CR1 process and he got his visa in 5 months. He's been here in the US for 4 months and it's been wonderful to have him home. The CO asked him about our age difference and he told the CO that it wasn't a problem for him and he still considers me to be his young sweetheart.

You can send me a message if you have personal questions.

BTW, good luck on your journey and hope you and your loved one will be united soon, inshallah,

  4. The waiting is very hard. Best thing to do is to keep in contact and stay busy. The waiting will drive you nuts.

I was with my husband for over 2 years before we got married. We saw each other every 6 months. He's here with me now and when I look back, I can't believe that we were able to maintain a very strong relationship. True love will always prevail.

    Good luck. :)

  5. Unbelievable. Questions of this nature is discriminatory. Asking about when you graduated from High Schools provides them with information in regards to your age. It's also very inappropriate to ask you questions in regards to your personal life. Interview questions should be geared in such a way that they are related to the position being filled.

There are laws put in place to protect individuals from discrimination. Go to: EEO. If you feel that you have been discriminated, EEOC provides information on how to file a complaint.

If this is how the company treats applicants, I would hate to see how they treat their own employees.

Good luck on your job search.

  6. Hello:

My husband is from Lebanon and we just went through the entire process without any problems.

Now that your petition has been approved by USCIS, start preparing the documents for the NVC stage. Things will move pretty quick at the NVC stage. Start working on the documents that are needed at the NVC stage. Here is a guide that we used and the NVC process only took a couple of weeks. LingChe NVC ShortCut

Have your husband contact the US Embassy in Jordan and ask them how long the medical and police reports are valid. Each country varies. Medical is usually valid for 12 months.

Keep in mind that all documents required by NVC must be original or a certified copy and translated if it's not in English.

Research the MENA Forum, you may find a lot of answers/experiences from other Jordan VJers. Also, you may want to research the US Embassy in Jordan's website to see if they require additional documentation that is unique to Jordan.

Best wishes and Good Luck.

  7. Hello...you won't be able to schedule the medical appointment until your case has been approved by NVC and your wife receives the interview letter. She will need to take the interview letter with her for her medical appointment. The medical is good for 12 months, but I would double check that as each country may be different. Review the US Embassy in the UK's website and do some research for immigration visas. Some embassies in different countries require additional information than what is required by NVC.

Good luck and I hope for a speedy visa approval.

  8. Since you are married, you should file for the I-130/CR1. It's much better (conditional permanent resident) and cheaper than to file for the K3 visa.

Your other issue is the fact that you stated that you were single at the time you applied for a tourist visa. Whether or not this was intentional, it may be viewed as providing false information or misrepresentation. Be prepared to answer this question if it does come up.

    Good luck.

  9. Unfortunately, Morocco is a very tough embassy. I can't believe with all of the proof that was provided ended up as a revocation. I'm very saddened to hear about your story. I don't know much about the appeal process but I would recommend that you file an appeal rather than starting the petition all over again. From many postings I read, the embassy in Morocco is very tough especially towards men. They try to find any reason to deny the visa by asking really tough questions. I know that you stated that your fiance knows more about you than your late husband, however, there may have been some questions that were asked and he simply did not know the answer. Try to get all of the facts of the interview from your fiance and the questions that he was asked as well as his responses.

Wishing you the best of luck on your appeal or whatever course of action you choose.

  10. When I was going through the USCIS stage, they told me that they were working on April petitions. I think I called them in October. The I-130 was approved in 60 days....Praise God. If you look at other VJers' timeline, there are many cases that were approved even before you NOA1 date. I have no idea how they process petitions and in what order.

Stay strong and keep your faith. You will get your NOA2 soon. Start preparing for the NVC stage. Once your petition is approved and sent to NVC, things will start moving pretty fast.

Good luck to you all and best wishes.

I did the return vs one-way comparison. I believe I got an incredibly awesome deal. The catch is the the flight leaves at 3:40 am. To us, that's ok; he'll sleep in the airplane.

Thank you. Unfortunately, they don't support flights originating out of Beirut. But I can book a RT flight from the US to Beirut. Crazy....I don't get it. The cost of my husband's one way ticket to the US is $1200. But it's worth every penny.

  12. USCIS only requires copies of documents requested. You can include your wedding invitation with your petition and any other documentation to show that you're in a bona fide relationship/marriage. I front loaded my I-130 petition and didn't have any problems.

Once your petition is approved, USCIS will send all of your documents to NVC. NVC will require original/certified copies of the required documentation. My husband is from Lebanon and the mailing system is not reliable. At the beginning of the NVC stage, he sent an email to NVC designating me as his agent so that NVC will contact me instead of my husband. My husband sent me all of the original documents and translations to me via surface mail and then I sent the entire packet to NVC. Here is a very handy guide to help you prepare for the NVC stage: LingChe NVC ShortCut

His interview was just a few days ago and his visa was approved.....Yeahhhh. The embassy is supposed to give the beneficiary all of the original documents back after the interview. There was one document that my husband asked for - our original marriage certificate. Our marriage certificate is something that has sentimental value and I wanted to frame it and put it on the wall in our house. The consular gave the original marriage certificate to my husband.

As far as other names used, you should include all names that is/was used to include nicknames - any names that people know about.

Hope that helps. You are welcome to send me a PM if you have any other questions.

    Good luck and best wishes.
