The biggest, most recent news is the birth of my second grand daughter...Welcome Alana Aaliyah...born 8/30/12...10:32pm...4lbs 10oz...18in...she is my lil lady bug...i call her that because lady bugs are supposed to be good luck and when she and her mom came home on Saturday, there was a lady bug in my house...

He text me asking if I would meet him after work, saying he wanted to take me out to eat, and ended the text with "Let me spoil you a little." I almost asked who was texting me from his phone. God thank you for all you are doing.

He comes in from work at 2 am. I'm standing at the door to greet him. He looks at his watch and says in three hours you become my bride all over again. He lays down beside me only to take a 3 hour nap before going back to work. He wakens and kisses me deeply and repeats " I now pronouce you Husband and Wife" my life changed again in that moment. Happy Anniversary My Sweet Prince. I love you.

They are no longer accepting Nigerian marriage certificates to change the name on your Social Security Card. You must either go to the court and remarry or use your minister. This Saturday will make 6 weeks. I would love to say that the weeks have flown by or that they were effortless. I have had moments of wanting him to go and him likewise, but we've never been on the same page with that. I have learned to let go of expectations and refrain from saying "this is how it's done here". If you both discuss what you want from your marriage and desire in your house then "what's done here" is reflective of your household; not outside influences.

JOB UPDATE: He did fine. Our work shedules conflict in a crazy way.. I'm first, he's on second but we'll make it. I want to talk about ADJUSTING TO EACH OTHER because once he/she is home it's different love story. I advise you to like who you marry. Love simply isn't enough to make it thru. Once the romance of travel, letters, emails and webcams becomes Honey I'm home we have to adjust. Adjust to everything from food to sleeping. Respecting each others cultures but not completely changing yourself or expecting them to change. HONESTY IN CONVERSATION WILL OPEN THE EARS AND THE HEART.

The couples that are "meant to be" are the ones who go through everything that is meant to tear them apart and come out even stronger than they were before.
