  1. Guys, what do you think...I am just worried that they might give her a hard time since I am not travelling with her as we originally planned and wrote on the DS-156 application form. This DS-156 form might be in this big sealed envelope that they gave us when we picked up the visa...so the POE officer might wonder why she is travelling alone. So I am thinking to just go there over the weekend and come with her. It will cost me $2000 + for such a short trip, but I would rather pay this than re-file and wait for another 10 months. I wish that we just had wrote "none" and that she will be travelling alone...but we did not know that my job will not be able to give me a vacation at that time.

What do you guys think? I mean, I love her so much, and I do not want her to be alone and go through a difficult time, specially since she does not know English very well. If I had to choose between spending (maybe wasting) $2000 and having to wait another 10 months, I will choose her.

  2. It won't be an issue at the POE, though it usually helps at the interview if the petitioner is there.

Thanks, we already had the interview and have the visa. But on the visa application question # 34, it asked for "the names and relationships of persons travelining with you"...so since I was planning to go and come with her, we wrote that I will be traveling with her. Now, our plans changed since I am unable to take a vacation from my job...so she will be entering alone / traveling alone. Will this be a problem at the POE since we said on Q# 34 that I will be traveling with her...but now she will be traveling alone?

    Thanks again!

  3. So the plan was to go to my fiancee and come back with her to the US. Since this was what we originally planned on, we said that my fiancee and me will be coming together to the US on the application. However now, my job would not give me a break/vacation to go and get my fiancee. So she will be coming/entering alone. Will this be a problem at the POE? Will there be a problem if she came alone at the POE, and not with me as we originally planned, and as we wrote on the application? I wish I could go and get her, but my job could not find another person to take over my work duties..so I will not be able to go and enter with her at the POE as we planned.

    Will this be an issue?

    Thanks!

  4. I totally understand what you're saying.......we HAD to move to a bigger city....There's a Middle eastern restaurant around the corner, lake down the street, parks, awesome movie theaters, public transit and life! I've been here 1 month and I'm meeting tons of friends and tons of Arabs!

.....if your fiancee goes through the same, be understanding and try to bring Morocco to her as much as possible, I enjoy watching Arabic movies, listening to Arabic music, eating an Arabic meal, or just speaking Arabic to my dog just cause I need to!

    Izzayyek ya okhti Nermeen,

I totaly understand. What is going to make it difficult is that she does not know English. So we will be living in a village, with no stores, resturants,....and no international population. Not just no Arabs, but there are no Asians, African-Americans, latinos...Most of the people here know each other for years, and the village's barber knows everybody. Living in a samll village does have its advantages (quite, natural beauty, fresh air, wide open spaces, blue sky, singing birds....) but it might not be the most convientient. Living in a big city can be very convientient, but you might not have the personal space and natural beauty.

I will try my best to make here feel "at home"...Arabic TV programming, finding nearby towns with Arabic/Interational resturants, Middle Eastern/Arabic home furniture and decore....so we will see. If she gets depressed, and wants to move to the City, then I will try to find a new job in a big city for her. She is my love and my life, and i am willing to do anything to make her happy.

Shukrun okhti Nermeen, wa atamanna laki haya sa3eeda! Akhooli min Lebnaan. Thanks again! :)

  5. If they told you that you have to cancel your old passport that had the visa in it to get the new passport, then how are you going to have two passports? If is at all possible to renew your passport after you enter the US, then that might be the route with less hassle. Who knows how long it will take the embassy in mexico to print you a new visa on your new passport.

    Good Luck.

  6. If one visit is enough or not depends on the embassy and is on a case by case basis. In some countries meeting once might not be enough, but if you have very strong evidence of CONTINUED relationship, then they might not care about the single visit. In other countries, no matter how strong your evidence is, they want to see strong face to face time. So the answer to your question is, it depends. There is no solid answer to this question. It is better to ask this question in the Philipines forum.

    Good Luck

  7. Sit back, relax and enjoy the looooooong (length is at least 5 months) flight between NOA1 and NOA2. No entertainment on this flight though...:-(

Not only no entertainment was provided on this long flight, but also there was no food/drink or even that little TV screen thingy that shows you were on your flight you currently are, or flight attendants to ask questions....and you do not even know when the flight lands on the airport's runway, when it lands in the airport, you just know that after the plane already landed. Also the flight's arrival is only at a temporary / transit airport. You still need to get on another flight to get to your destination...which is more important and more expensive. :)

    Good Luck

  8. Salamu Alaikum (Peace be upon you),

I would like to introduce myself and my fiance. This is my second Journey and for personal issues I would like to keep my first Journey private.

My name is Salma and my Fiance is Aly. We met in 2005 Online and have been friends ever since. Our lives took differnt paths but we have recently reconnected and found that we have loved each other all these years and that love never stopped.

The communication was a barrier in the beginning but after sometime he took an English course to better himself and now we communicate in many ways. We cannot wait to see each other again and get this process started.

Our case will present some issues because of my first Journey, however, we know that our love is real and we are ready for the long haul.

We would like to wish you all luck on your Journey's and we look forward to a long lasting relationship with you all.

    (F) Patience and True Love is what will get you through all the waiting (F)

    RAMADAN AKREEM AND SALAM :D

Salam ya Salma wa Ramadan Kareem!

Good luck in your new journey. It looks like you two are just meant for each other. Hope that your journey will be smooth, successful and speedy. Love Egypt! I have cousins who are Egyptians. This is song shows the love between Egypt and Lebanon (me).

    Happy Ramadan...Salam! :)

  9. There is a difference between the 129F petetition application (done by petitioner) and the application for the visa itself (done by the beneficiary). It looks like from your post that you have not even applied for the visa yet. So there is really no application made to withdraw, all you have is just an approved petition. Agree with the above poster. Having said that, it is always sad to see a couple in disagreement. Best wished to you both.

  10. hey Vj's need some help, recently got our noa 2.."The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate, Please contact the consulate with any question about your visa issuance......" What does this mean? Vj's there is no consulate listed in the application, my fiance is from Ecuador, South America. Should i wait for NVC or should i contact the ecuadorian consulate? or where is my packet going? HELP!!!

No conulate listed in the "application"? or did you mean in the form the NVC sent you? If you meant on the NVC form, this might be the NVC just forgot to mention it on the letter they sent you (they are standard generic letters). You can always call the NVC on Monday to verify. if you did not list it on your "application' that is a different story...but you whould have received either a RFE or even a rejection if that was the case.

    Good Luck

  11. I am in the process of filiing the I29F right now. I am confused do I need to also file the G-325a for she and I at the same time of filing the 129F? She does not have her passport yet and the G-355a is saying you need to attach copies of your passport. I was under the impression she would not need her passport until her interview in manila? Can someone please help me with what is required and should be included in my filing of the I129F

Yes, you need the G-325a for BOTH of you. No need for a copy of the beneficiary's passport...but you need passport style PHOTO (picture) of her. You will need the passport before the interview.

    Good Luck

  12. For some people, the visa process is quick and smooth (4-6 months), for others (most others) it is an agonizing long wait (9-10 months and up). I wonder if the people who had to endure all the suffering and agony of waiting for their loved one to come here have greater appreciation for this process and think 1000000000000000000000000000000 times before making any decision quickly. The K-1 visa is for 90 days (not 2 weeks)...there is a very good reason for that. We do not know the whole situation, but 2 weeks is not 90 days. This situation might need:

    -Thinking

-Time, time, time, time, time (the k-1 is for 90 days people!), time, time,......

-Talking (Real heart to heart talk with each other)

Changing the date of the return ticket is nothing (does not even come close) compared with living with the results of making a quick decision. Re-filing for another visa is not easy....Most of the people here on VJ know that, specially those who had to wait more that 10 months or more for their loved one.

    Best wishes and good luck

  13. We took a plastic file organizer that has a handle on it in the shape of a bag. You can get them at Wal-Mart or Staples. It had many separate slots, so that was great for organizing all our papers and keeping them in order.

    Good Luck
