My unsolicited advise is, as soon as you hit the 6 month mark, call them so at least they know somebody is waiting. I know its lame but there's no harm of trying. I did and I got an answer even the person on the other line said i have to wait for another 9 days. If that's a mere coincidence that's fine. The good thing is...there's result.

02:08 PM - I login and checked my case status with this.

On December 1, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Btw, I just took my NCLEX exam today and I felt good about it. There's a quick/trick to check if somebody passed so I guess I did. What a day!!!

CSC approved a September filer in November just recently.

Exactly, and that's mind boggling cause September filer (I'm happy for him/her) but there are Feb - August filers that are still pending.

I would've go ahead applying N-400 as I don't think the pending I751 slows down the process. N-400's processing time is only 4 months now... .

If we will apply for N-400 without the ROC being approved; we need to use/submit a copy of the old green card (expired) as part of the requirements; so is this allowed? Just asking...

I'm sorry you're still waiting. However, you're not alone amongst the CSC filers! Do you have your Biometrics receipt number so you can check your status online?

Can I call them even by application is not 6 mos. due yet or I'm just wasting my time? My case is exactly 5 mos and 7 days from the time of application. My worry is maybe they sent me something and got "lost" in the mail (which unfortunately happened to me already before).

Hi guys,

We got married on the 19th at the local county courthouse, in jeans and sneakers and t-shirts, and only his mother was present. The reason for that was that we are just not able to have a "real wedding" right now, because we are extremely broke -- we literally had to borrow money for the license and marriage fee, that's how bad things are -- and since we're not religious, it didn't feel like a big deal to us to just have it done this way now and just worry about an actual ceremony when and if we can afford it. Things are just... really bad here and I need to be able to start working ASAP so we kind of rushed it for that reason too.

Of course we look extremely happy and in love on the photos, but I just realized that the way we were dressed and the fact that we didn't have a party (we went to a fancy restaurant with my MIL afterwards to celebrate, but there were no other guests) might make people think that we didn't care about our wedding or something. Am I wrong to assume that we may have accidentally created a red flag for my AOS by not dressing up and having a "proper" wedding? If so, what can we do to fix this problem? We don't have plans for a ceremony anytime soon, for obvious reasons.

I came here on a K1 and we have not yet started the AOS because we're now very concerned about this.

Also, I have a couple more questions:

1. I've decided to take his last name, but I don't have any documents with my new name yet. Will I receive anything before the AOS interview that has my new name on it, which I can use to change my name on our joint account? I understand that having a joint account is good evidence and we do have one, but I've got my maiden name on it since I didn't have photo ID with my legal name when we opened it.

2. We are (as I mentioned above) fairly poor at the moment. My husband is permanently disabled (we have a co-sponsor, that's why I had no problem getting the visa) and I can't work yet. We don't drive, so we don't have a car (or car insurance), and we rent, so we have no property or anything else that might have both of our names on it. I want to include my name on the lease for the apartment, but they refuse to do it because I don't have a SSN yet and as far as I understand it, I cannot get one yet. My question is, what can we bring as evidence in a situation like this? The only thing that has both of our names on it is the bank account, and I can't change my maiden name on it until I have some sort of photo ID that has my new name on it...

Sorry if this is all very complicated. I'm just really clueless and we don't know what to do. Oh, I'm in Texas. Not sure if that's relevant or not.

There's nothing to worry about. If you are honest with what you posted here, they (immigration) can do nothing about it. It's a fact of life; not all can have an expensive wedding, not all can have a car in the next 2 years or so considering that your husband is disabled (assuming that he is not working). Just go with the process; submit whatever you can---they will send you RFE if they need more. If you have nothing to submit more, and if they are not contented with your documents they will request for interview. From there you can explain yourself why you and your husband don't have this and don't have that; Or better yet, you can explain everything like what you did in your post in your RFE (Request for Evidence) if they will send you one.

I know it's a hard and long process but what can we do? Even those with kids, with DNA testing, with everything submitted as per requirements are being called for interview. So Que Sera Sera(Whatever Will Be, Will Be.

Received I-797 NOA today, with Biometrics appointment date. In this NOA there is no mention of extending the 2-year Green Card one more year. Should this come in another letter? Does it normally come before or after the Biometrics NOA?

Your Biometric appointment/schedule is written in your NOA2.

Your 1-year GC extension is written in your NOA1.

Your NOA1 comes before your NOA2.

These are 2 different documents.

Suggestion; call them to request for a copy; that you did not received NOA1.

Before doing that: another suggestion; ask your neighborhood or at least the one beside your house or across your house if they got mail from USCIS. Why I am telling you this? Because I had experience with wrong mailbox. Been waiting for my noticed for more than a month. I received everything except 1 notice and 1 day my neigboor gave me a letter from USCIS! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. LoL

I dont get it why would they start deportation process agains me?? Like "Glyn and Katy" said....i attempted to file i just did it wrong...honestly...i read the whole thing, but i did not understand what removing conditions means i just thought it had nothing to with me....so i went ahead and filed I 90. I guess i should have researched more before i decided to waste $450 and put myself in this position. But this really sux Im putting all my paper work together and sending it asap....

Don't be bothered by the "wrong" comments here. Just gather all documents you have and re-submit the application with the correct form.

Somehow it's their fault too. They should have denied your application right away if it was the wrong form; provided that your documentations supports ROC like expiring 2 year green card, etc. Your case supports consideration so just correct the problem and you are good to go...

Question concerning the "My Case Status Portfolio" on the USCIS website. The site lists the last update to our ROC CRI89 as 06/02/11, but our biometrics was 07/28/11 and we had to call twice to get the appointment information concerning the bio appointment. It seems most list the last update as sometime in relation to the bio appointment. Is this true? It seems our update is still set at possible the initial touch of the packet.

Well if you happen to notice, the next step after Initial Review is Decision so since there is no decision yet...they are not required to update the status even you are done with Biometrics. Same here...

Hoping that May Filers starts getting approval in bulk soon. It's exactly 3 mos and 4 days since I submitted our application. Yay!

The only notification we received was a letter from USCIS dated 7-20-11 congratulating us for the approval of the ROC. The letter said we would receive the new Green Card within the next 60 days.

Our NOA1 date was 6-2-11.

You will only get alert if you did that.

Well, they are wrong. I agree. You don't need certified copies. You only need photocopies.

That's what we submitted during our application. All photocopies. The only originals are the application forms (I-485, I-130).

you can actually submit the temporary marriage certificate;there should be no problem.
