  1. I am guess I am an hour away - 20147 zip code  Maybe we can all get together from time to time ? Wine tasting event, horseback riding, food tasting, ect, ect.

VA/DC/MD so many things to do.

I go to wof also, what's ur name there. Yes she has been here since November, maybe you can meet :)

    Hi Randy & Jenny,

Thanks for the add. Yes, there are Filipinos in MD, (I included), lol! I haven't been in VJ for so long since I came here in 2006. Mostly, I visit www.theworldoffilipinas.com which is more localized, although I still come in VJ but very rare.

Your wife is already here, right? I can see you are from Owings Mills? I am in Sykesville, so you are close to us. It's good to know there are Filipinas close by. It seems I can't find one close to my neighbors here.

Anyway, I and my husband will be vacationing in the Phils. in March 10. Say hi from me to your wife!

I will say hi, yes she has been here since November

  2. Everyone with Manila embassy experience:

1.After The K1 Manila Emassy Interview, how long before you had Visa in Hand (especially for Zone 9 residents. I want to get my fiance at the best ticket price.

2.Do you think it's too risky to buy the ticket after the interview but before the Visa arrives?

    All Manila Interview experience appreciated!!

    Thanks

This is in another part of VJ, but I think the responses will be more Manila specific here.

  3. To anyone on Facebook that is a FIL/AM couple. I am starting a new group for life during and after visa journey and your Pinay is here is USA. If interested just send me a PM. Or comment and we can exchange info

  4. It's available on Comcast, on DirecTV, and on Dish Network. If your cable company doesn't doesn't provide all the tiers available to them, then all you can do is keep asking, or use another provider.

I have comcast, but its not available in this area

  5. Hello everyone :) I have a question. I want to get TFC, but my local cable company doesn't offer it . I looked at the website and even recently got Logitech Revue for Internet TV, but it seems the website blocked it (grrr) so streaming from there is not an option. I called TFC 1800 number but no help. Anyne have another option I could use besides comptely switching cable company's, because I'm happy with mine.

  6. I have an account. When I first called in the automated system, it said on the phone my case was still pending too. :bonk:

Anyone know if the NVC is backed up or running smoothly lately?

Its odd how it all worked out for me. Noa 2 came 5 days after they actually approved it, so I guess that is normal. But, then the hard copy came within 2 days and by the time I started really getting ready to check NVC I only called 3 times/days before I was told it arrived and was also forwarded to my embassy. I had to call back again later that day to double check I wasn't hearing things lol, because just earlier that same day a rude lady told me the she was going to half up on me if I couldn't read her my number within 30 seconds, and she did :( And before that I got the standard wait 15 business days to call speech.

Anyway, I don't know if changing the way I pressed the buttons worke or not (at first I just waited for them to connect to call center, finally I pressed I think 2?). But to make a long story short lol mine was gone in 1 day and when I asked the guy that told me the second time him said it happens and it depends lol whatever that means. So your long answer...they seem to be on schedule, but like that guy said... it depends

I guess you should have it at NVC before October gets here and out...IDK But you guys are ready after that off to embassy and you should track it once you have that case number all the way to Thai Embassy. Its all down hill from here ;)

  7. We filed our application on may 23rd. Taken 90 days for approval. Now on 7th, NVC mailed us, case number and consulate to which they are sending the case in a week's time. What's next ? Who will let me know my interview date ?

    Cheers

Please don't sit around waiting for the next letter they call "Packet 3" that is what I believe cr1 filers must wait for. But as a k1 you don't have to. Now that you recieve that letter you don't have to guess whether the embassy has your case, they do. If you have your MNL number, Passport info, and all the basic info for your fiance listed below you can proceed. After recieving that letter Manila Embassy should have your case in their system within a week so you can start Interview scheduling now. I found the following earlier myself. This is very helpful... Once you have your MNL you can send you fiancee to a BPI bank to pay for the visa. Make sure she keeps the reciept and gives you the number on it.

You will need the bank reciept number before they will allow you to schedule the appointment. This applies to appointment scheduling with a CS rep or online.

Call (214) 571-1600 as soon as you hear the recording, press 2, when you hear the next recording start press 1, do this 2 more times.

    So, it will be: (214) 571-1600 2, 1, 1, 1.

Your call should then be directed to a rep to help you setup the interview. It took a few times to get through...but not a problem.

You will need the following info:

    Case number: MNLXXXXXXXXXX

    Fiance(e)'s:

    full name

    date of birth

    phone number

    mailing address

    e-mail address

    passport number

    passport issued date

    passport expiration date

    passport place of issue

You will be asked if the Certificate of Eligibility has been received. Just say Yes

They will verify all info that you have given and give you the interview date info. They will also give you the UID, read it back to them to make sure it is correct. WRITE THIS DOWN!!!

They will send an e-mail to your Fiance(e) with the password to download the Appointment letter.

***Note, you can have them send it to you as well if you wish, I did.

    Go to:

    http://www.ustraveld...fcMxpfBJUHUOw==

You will need your Fiance(e)'s passport number, the UID and the password they sent in the e-mail to download your Appointment letter.

Print it out and you're done...well, except for the medical and interview ;)

For those that don't have MNL , if you do not receive an NVC letter, call the NVC at: (603) 334-0700 about 3 weeks after you received the petition approval notice.

  8. The average wait for Thailand k-1 is 120 days. Today is 116.

I'm going to be mad if it's out of timeline range cause Ice is having a very hard time right now. >_<

We are already ready for the interview, we did packet 3, gathered everything, did the medical, police clearance certificate. We are ready TO GO!!!! We just need permission to move on.

This wait is killing me. It's draining my energy, straining our relationship, and making us annoyed at everything.

If this keeps up I'm going to turn into one of those annoying posters on VJ who everyone secretly hates.

    http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?cfl=&id=66349

    ^That is something I don't understand.

I know you are thinking its easy for me to say this now but I have been where you are. I was very weary right before our Noa2 came. The approval was 9/2 but I was not notified until 9/7. Every month was hard. But, August was especially. The unconcern feeling, all that. You never know if you will be today tomorrow or one of the people waiting for several more months after your core month of uscis processing is over. That is stressful I KNOW. It was really really wearing on us. BUT again I was motivated by this site with igors list and all. I dreamed and calculated and hoped that I would have similar timeline to those in my future wife's country embassy. And in the end I did. IDK where you get the 120 days stat from. But, for you I used the timeline for Thailand only and looked at what the last few people stated as their time. Some a super long time. But Idk about them, it could have been an rfe situation, something that required extra criminal check idk. So, I won;t depress you with that. But, there was a small few with less than you now. And the average I saw was between 130-140 days. FOR THAILAND vj members only. I use that same method for me. And I was within 5 the average for Philippines. I was 5 days from a friend of mine from here. And the exact day and time lol of another friend on here. I was even shocked that worked out like that. For you its harder to gauge because there are not many Thailand vj members (for example that applied the same wweek as you). Still I have super good feeling October is your month. After all if you remember when we all started we expected the default 5 month mark USCIS gave. So it beats the latter of being beyond that point. And if it does get past that month if I were you I would do the congressional letter to your local us rep. It is true that if you do that they have 48 hrs to respond to that rep. The only catch is you must wait til November. So anyway good luck dear! I strongly feel it WILL happen before that long. You are my fav May filer on this thread since day one ;) Again I only still stick around to hear how it goes for you. So, I'm rooting for you  And no one here will ever secretly hate you lol

  9. Well...I've entered into my timeline zone. Sept 19- Oct 3. Wish me luck :clock:

I predict before October 15 for you at latest ;) I know you want to hear earlier, but that is based off of past Thailand Approvals on VJ. With that being said, any things that take more than a week or so (anything 3 weeks or more) I would get him to start wrapping up before Noa2. We are all told to wait until then, but through my experience it makes it a scramble after noa2 to get all requirements and could delay you some. Like say scheduling the Interview, etc...

It will come really soon. Youre still in range. I bet it will be today!

Once you get to October I see things starting to move really fast for you

  10. Thanks, that was spot on :) I actually read that Thread earlier. And I took from that that we need to specify that she is going for immigration when getting the NBI or they will classify it with a label that requires more review at the Embassy.

For Passport I learned you should tell them the Passport is for tourism, unless you want to get your CFO first. Which means you would have to go all the way to Manila then back and still have to attend CFO again for the sticker before leaving Phil. Ok.... I will just say tourism lol.

We are in the process of getting all the errands done. The fast track

Thanks for all your help again!

  11. We finally have her fixed Birth Certificate :) Up next Passport, then the others. I wonder is it worth it to get voters id now and use that with her postal id. Or should I wait to use Passport as 2nd id for the NBI. I hear you guys saying that takes long. What is the longest you are hearing? I just started tracking the mnl, so it will probably be another week or 2 before I could even schedule interview. And doesn't interview take place about a month or so later. So do you think NBI will take that long?

  12. I am not really sure, but I guess the registrar's refusal to handle it at this point is because there is another judiciary body that is handling the request... Please ask your fiancee to go to a Public Attorney's Office (commonly called as PAO) in her city for free legal advice regarding this.

Also, I hope aileen in the above post can tell her experience in more details, since she did it on her own... it look like hers just took around 75 days...

I'm sorry this happen to you guys. I can relate for I am currently in step behind you. We did all we was suppose to do since back in May when I first submit k1 petition. She went to local provincial registrar and filed this paperwork. They called her back saying it was approved and she went home in August. She was then told it was going to Manila and don't worry it would be back before August ended. They never answered her at the end of August so she went home again and was given the run around finally sent to some other office. Then she was told to come back September 26. I'm not sure what will happen then. But I do know that since then on the bright note we have noa2 now! So, as you can imagine we just want to proceed to interview. I'm worried about if they still dont have it for her. What should we do? Can she go straight to Manila? Is getting Passport with incorrect spelling an option and just using 'affidavit of one and the same person' for everything else possible. I ask all this because this site (VJ) we were given the advice a few times to do just that. And for the looks of what happen to you OP, there is a snag. So, my only question to OP is now did you try to get passport with correct or incorrect spelling? If worse comes to worse could you try to get the incorrect one and just use 'affidavit of one and the same person' afterwards to prove you are really you. The other questions above are for others.

I'm sorry to ask this stuff on your thread but we are in a very similar situation. However, I do have some advice from what I have learned. EVEN after you get the corrected Birth Certificate, you need to make sure NBI and possibly Cenomar is processed with both your REAL name and the ALIAS name you had incorrectly all these years. Because, if you don't you could get 'Administrative Review' after interview to delay your visa by weeks to months while they rerun your alias name under NBI. This is very important if you want smooth approval.

  13. Hi there!! We log on here to check things from time to time. Sent our petition last year in Nov but was rejected due to the fee change. And we sent it again in April, got NOA1 on May 02, just found that our case was approved on Sep 06!!!!!! Hooray!! Wanted to thank all of you on VJ!!!

We are wondering that if Packet 3 was sent to us with NOA2? And what we need to do from now on??

    Thank you!!!

    J&J

It depends on where your Fiancee is. But it is mailed separate if at all I believe.

  14. I was a newly graduate too when we got our NOA2 so I didn't have any IDs aside from my school ID that's why I got my:

Postal ID is easy to get. Go to the nearest post office. Bring 3 pcs 2x2 photos, Baranggay Clearance, Community Tax Certificate (cedula), Birth/Marriage Certificate. It cost about 300+ pesos depending on the location and you can get it right away.

For CENOMAR and Birth Cert, go to the nearest National Statistics Office (NSO). Birth Cert takes 1-2days, Cenomar is 3 days. I'd advise her to get 3 pcs of Birth Cert for the interview and AOS as well and 1 pc just in case she needs it in the US. So she don't have to keep going back to NSO.

For passport she needs to go to Dept of Foreign Affairs (DFA). She will need at least 2 IDs, birth cert, baptismal cert. (As a student I was only asked for my school ID, birth cert, baptismal cert and any old ID that shows my face). Takes 3weeks if you pay for it to be rushed.

NBI Clearance, get one for both names she used. Or she can get one and have AKA for both her names. Where I got my NBI it only takes 1 day. I dont know now since they changed the process. I heard it takes weeks in some places.

Good she has her baptismal cert. It is important.

    :)

WOW this is EXACTLY what I need THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :)

Sorry. I didn't mean to make you nervous. I'm encouraging you to hurry so you won't need to delay the interview.

paul_kay gave you a good step by step. I would follow her guide and you will be OK.

but, You guys better get moving.

Cool I know u didnt mean it lol. Is your wife here yet. And yes we are in rush mode :)

  15. Congrats. Your aplication will be at NVC in 2 weeks. Then move to the embassy. You will have her in the USA in just a few more weeks. Best wishes to a speedy journey from here.

Thank you. You are still on your journey though. Just the next phase, get her here and see her discover this new place we call home in usa :) Enjoy her Enjoy each other!
