From past experience, I'd say stay together in the visitors line. You could always show your tickets showing your traveling together but I doubt it will come to that.

Work is not allowed, whether paid for or not, including 'volunteering'....I am fully aware that a B2 holder could take short term, non-degree seeking courses...grandma was not taking a home-study course on diaper changing.
Who said anything about a course on diaper changing? You love to twist things around.
So you're fully aware she's just visiting with friends and relatives? Again, rightfully so making use of her B2 visa.

The OP's first posting made it sound that way....
What's up troll?
Love your "holier than thou" attitude.
If you take a look at the Department of State website for B2 visas it clearly states that paid work is not allowed. As a matter of fact, one is even allowed to enroll in short recreational courses of study. I bet if somebody said that, you'd jump the gun and scream "NO, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO STUDY!" Even if that is cooking.
Have a great day!

So let me get this straight...you were previously an illegal immigrant, you do not yet have a GC and want to sue the college for giving preferential treatmeant to USCs and LPRs?
Whatever next!
You clearly misread the post and are getting all upon the OP.
To the OP, it seems your best bet might be to wait until you have been a resident of your state for 1 year (or the minimum time required to qualify for in-state tuition). You said you already have your license, so that should be good enough to prove residency when the time comes.

Chrome fan here, too.

EDIT: we found the answer (a green card means he doesn't need an EAD anymore)
Ditto.

IMO, the best thing to do is to let it go. The hassle you would be putting yourself into doesn't seem to be worth it for 9 days of work. Especially, when you weren't supposed to be working in the first place. Good luck!

all of this reminds me of that movie Wag the Dog... if anybody has seen, you'll know what I'm talking about; there is no election in the next 11 days but the idea is the same.

Weren't there some soldiers that got in trouble a while back because they took some "inappropriate" pictures with the dead bodies of some terrorists that they had captured? Now they caught THE man, and they bury him at seal, so nicely. Well if that's what they thought would suit best, not much to do now!
