Thanks Visa Grant!
I have a question, I will be travelling next week with the main applicant, but she has to get back after few days, and then come back to the US in 2 months, there will be a problem here? Can she still use the I-551 Stamp to join the US and pickup the GC when she gets back?
So far what I have been reading this is possible.
Thanks for your replies!
Does she buy a 2 way ticket !!
I don't think this is correct.
My friend's sister and family came from India two month ago. Her daughter stayed here for a week and went back because she wanted to finish her last year collage there.
They had a return ticket for her.
Does your friends sister buy 2way ticket ?

No you have to pay the GC fee before leaving the country. After entering into US, GC is sent to your mailing address. Generally it takes 2 months after your arrival. It may also vary. If your luck is good then you may get the GC within 10 day. But max is 2 months.Hi today i got an email that my passport is ready to be picked by Wednesday!!
What would be the steps once I get there? just wait for the GC?
Good Luck.
Hi appreciate all of your guidance in this regard.Hi
Could you please reconfirm me . I have already purchased the two way air ticket for my family which is non refundable . If I have to cancel then I have to face huge financial loss. Please help me .

YES...it will create a big problem for you...immediately cancel all of your return tickets and buy new one-way tickets only...buddy, u r going to get GREEN-CARD, and US assumes that u r going to stay in their country forever...... if they come to know at the point of entry that u r entering US with return tickets and also intend to get a greencard, then they might ask you to leave from the point of entry.......this is not to scare u, but this is a fact........many have faced this kind of situation....US is not going to write this kind of point in their "points to be taken care of" or "laws" but each and every lawyer would advise u to enter US with one-way ticket if u r entering with an immigrant visa......

Hi, are you sure return ticket (two way) will creat problem. I already purchased a return ticket and already paid the GC fee in ELIS.Not Necessarily. But don't buy the "two-way airline ticket for the main applicant" as the airlines will send the passengers data to the DHS and if they see the main applicant return data, then DHS assumes you have abandoned the GC process. So, Just buy one-way ticket and at the POE, they will check for any changes in the address for sending the "Permanent Resident Card". The card can be tracked through the ELIS website with a Courier tracking option...generally it make not take a month's time...Once u receive the Card, the main applicant(your Mom) can travel back and beneficiaries can stay back..For PR card, no need to go anywhere for signing, just a simple mail...but for SSN, if you don't receive within a month, theny you should approach the nearest SSA(Social Security Administration) office with your PR card / I-551 Visa stamp in your area.
Good Luck
I will be in US for two months and if I don't get my GC then extend the stay time period. Please advice.

great news!! how long did it take after the interview to issue the visa?My interview is scheduled on 10th feb...:/
If consular have no additional requirements then visa is issued on the same day. However it takes time to deliver the passport depending on local arrangements with 3rd party vendor. In my case it took almost 13 days.
-
My case was also documentary qualified from 2011 and I got my visa in this December14. I had not filled out DS260 our previous submitted ds230 met the purpose. So what to do ,,, some one is saying,,, u have to fill ds260... some one said not reqired,,
I email to nvc10 days before but not replied
So you don't have to fill up ds260. No worries at all ...

if the visa officer feels that background check is required for a particular person, then he may keep that person's case into administrative processing...there are many reasons for administrative processing...........and sometimes it takes a week, a month or a year also.......depends on the individual's case..........
if they have returned ur passport giving u a letter of administrative processing and then kept ur case into administrative processing, then it will take months to clear that process.......may be 2-3 months...may be 6 months...may be 1 year sometimes.....
but if they have taken ur passport for visa issuance, and then kept ur case into administrative processing without giving u any letter during interview, then it will take few days to clear the process...then don't worry, ur visa will be issued within 15-20 days...............just keep patience........
During the interview the CO gave him a questionerry to give the feedback by email regarding his travel history, daughter and son's name, last ten years employer details and if any previous passport. He had replied all these via email. However after getting all information US embassy today send a email that it will take additional administrative processing to issue the visa and they can't predict the visa issuance timeline. Please advice me !!

Hi ikabirul,
Thanks for sharing your experience.
So this means you got Interview call letter directly from NVC a month before your case become current without making any inquiry to NVC. Please correct me if I am wrong.
And according to you what should I do now? Should I wait for communication from NVC for further procedure or should I call NVC for asking about further steps (filling up DS260) .
Please wait for your priority date to be current. You can send the email to NVC for case update.

<p>
My PD for F4 case is 6th June-2002.
We had completed all document procedure back in 2011 including AOS d
ocuments & Financial Evidence
, AOS fee, IV Application (DS230 form), and IV fee ($404). Then unfortunately retrogression of F4 category took place & everything gets postponed. Now after 4 years my case will be current in next 5-6 moth (just a prediction). And when I log in into ceac.state.gov using my NVC case number & invoice id It shows
N/A in AOS d
ocuments & Financial Evidence
, AOS fee & civil documents,Paid in IV fee,Incomplete in IV Application for primary applicant, andNot starded in IV Application for accompany. What dose this mean? Do I need to fill DS260 form online?, DO I need to submit AOS documents & Civil documents again? Or above all of this, will I get visa interview call later directly when my case will be current?
Please guide for the further procedure according to new rules.
Thank you.
Dear Jigar
Don't worry as you have alteady submitted the AOS so it shows N/A. Please don't complete the DS 260 unless you are instructed.
My profile also like yours and already got the interview letter. Plz wait for your turn.

1. New police clearance if previous submitted one is more than 1 year old
2. Please submit the recent federal tax return if you have submitted I864
Others are as usual checklist which you have submitted the civil document if any discrepancies then it is adviced to bring during interview time.
For my case no discrepancies in Civil documents. Only I have to collect recent federal tax return and new PCC.
