I never did add myself to the database but

I mailed my packet 2/26 , recieved it back on 3/1/14 as I had over paid them $5

Sent again same day received noa1 3-8-14

Bio appointment 4/12/14

I received an email today that my card was in production

Vermont service center , can someone add me?

So it's been 6 months and 2 days since I got my noa 1 extension letter a And not a peep from uscis , vsc here

I have the noa with the 1 year extension , but I lost the case number on the biometrics letter , I had my biometrics appointment on April 6th , and wanted to check the status so far , any ideas how I can get my case number ?

ok so I submitted our I-751 packet in march, had my biometrics, but here is my issue

I have recently moved, my wife and I bought a house , now I went online to try and change my address, and where it says enter your receipt number and zip code submitted,

I entered the application number, ( EACxxxxxx) and selected I-751 for the form type, however it is saying that I entered and incorrect receipt number for the form selected

I used the receipt number on the biometrics letter,

So I received my noa extension letter last week and biometrics a few days ago, my gc expires next month

Since I got here I have had 2 temporary drivers licenses the dmv said because the cg is valid only for 2 years this is the norm, so as it expires next month I went down to renew it thinking I'll get another temp one, taking my extension letter, she checks the save system and we go through the process and issues me a full 5 year license, on the reciept it says " save system updated x/x/2014 lpr admitted to US indefinitely

Using my cell so the timeline thing is a bit off,

Mailed February 28th, returned march 3rd, ( overpaid by $5)

Resubmitted march third, noa received march 6th

Biometrics appointment received today, 3/21/14 scheduled for 4/7/14 in Memphis TN

Ok so I had my roc packet returned because I overpaid by $5 anyway I'm about to resend it with the correct amount but I have a quick question, page one of the I-751 form they sent back has the service center received stamp and they wrote my gc exp date on it, should I send this same one back or use a new fresh one?

I also added copies of our driving licenses

I do have a question, I filed our cr-1 with california service center via the chicago lockbox, i think i file the roc directly with service center and it says that for where I am ( tenneseee) i file with the vermont serice center, can anyone confirm this? or did i missread?

Ok down to business , part 4 states list all your children, my wife and I have one son , born in the us last year and I have two wonderful step kids, my question is , should I put our youngest son on there? I assume that I dont put my step kids on there as they are not "mine" ( saving for adoption fees)

From what I have read none seems to know for sure but dose anyone have a suggestion?

Also do I need the full birth certificate for our son as evidence or will the short form from the health department be sufficient?

Are affidavits worth it? From our family and friends ?

Well i have been here 6 months now.. things are.going.great my immigration process was smooth compared to many i have met.. the most troublesome part was post-POE. It started with trying to get my driving license.. the tempoary stamp in my passport was faded and the date was unreadable.so the dmv dint know when to issue my driving license untill .. i spent all...day at the dmv untill they fixed it.. second major issue was woth the ssa..oh lord what a nightmare .. it took a good few weeks to get my ss number becuase it hadnt been applied for even tho the ds-230 i had checked the little box. Well apparently my local ssa (selmer tn) didnt quite know what to do.. the SAVE profile had my name on a way they couldnt input .. never the less i eventually got my card with an appology letter from the director of the local office stating they had implimented a new trainimg policy based on my case..

Since then things have been amazing we started renting our own place. Our son made an apperance to the world.hes 5 weeks old today . Ive started building my credit so i can eventually buy our own place. Found a job , been there 4 months, now looking forward to my roc

Ok so my wife got a letter from her case workers supervisor, that we spoke too, this is what it reads,

Mr xxx has to be included as a household member since he is your husband,, Since he has a sponsor , the following information is needed. name, address of the sponsor, the organization and the amount of the sponsorship, also if mr xxx has any income resources or vehicles, this information is needed, you have ten days to provide this information, we cannot process your case until this information is received, if you have any questions please contact me at xxxxxx , thank you

I understand I have to be in the case and I understand my income will contribute, that's fine, but the case worker said I had to sign up to receive benefits. Almost forcing it apon me with the way she spoke about me and threatening the termination of my wife's and kids foodstamps and tencare if I didn't. She also said my sponsor ( joint sponsor) would be responsible to repaying my wife and kids benefit costs! Since posting this we had an interview with the case workers supervisor, she told me she wasn't sure how the whole thing worked and would need to have her supervisor come down from Memphis to help sort it out, she did however say I would be put in the case as non eligible for benefits and that she will investigate the caseworkers claim concerning the whole penalisation because I'm an immigrant thing.. I will let y'all know how it goes

Ok so I arrived here just over a month ago.. And my immigration process, from 1-30 to visa in hand was relatively straight forward...but lord..since I arrived...

First, they messed up my name at the border.. Meaning the save system had my name wrong.. I managed to fix that with a phone call, saving myself a info pass

Second... They didn't assign me a ssn, I know it's a 50/50 chance they will when u request it on a ds-230..so I wasn't too concerned.. Went down the ssa..had issues there because of the save system name mismatch.. Took 3 weeks to fix it and receive my ssn

Next...DMV.. Had no issue getting through the save system there..but had to wait 3 hours while they rang around figuring howlong to issue my DL for ... They had never heard of a temporary I-551 stamp or a cr-1 visa.

Ok now for the new issue

We recently moved from my wife's parents house to our own place.. , now my wife sufferes from bipolar disorder, and has 2 kids who's fathers don't support, no child support nothing, as such my wife is on food stamps and state medical insurance .. We went down to the department of human resources to inform them of the addresses change, and name change ( we have been married since November , but every time my wife called her case worker to inform her of the name change they never answered or called back, she called once every few weeks to try.

As I said we went down to the office, they said they would need me on the case because where married, but I told them I did not want benefits, only to use my income towards my wife's case, which is,case I had understood it, the thing to do

Few days later we got a phone all from the elusive case worker asking for my. Social security number so she can but me in the system to receive benefits... My wife told her that I was not looking nor wanting benefits. And wanted it to be the same as with her previous husband ey told her that the case was different because I was not a us citizen and I had to receive benefits.. My wife argued.. The woman said if I don't...then hers and the kids insurance and food stamps will be stoped ( she's 7 months pregnant with our baby also) . My wife asked the following words and received the following reply ,

Wife : are you saying that I and my children are being penalised for me marrying an immigrant?

Caseworker: yes because he is not a us citizen

Wife: that's discrimination

Caseworker: no that's our policy

I'm not sure what to do, I'm still looking for a job, although I have a second interview with one company tomorrow, I don't want my wife and kids to go without, especially seeing my baby is due in August.. I don't want to claim benefits because my sponsor will be charged.. What should I do... The department of human services is either showing discrimination or dose not know what the heck they are doing

Hey all, I arrived in the us just over 3 weeks ago on a cr-1 visa, my wife and I where living with her parents but now we have found our own place, I haven't received my green card yet or any welcome letter, am I able to use the online ar-11 form?

Just had a phone call from my local ssa office, she said that she had mailed off the form for verification, I'm assuming she means the g-845, she told me the problem was the SSA was recieveing a name mismatch on their SNAP system, while i was at the ssa on Monday , she showed me the SAVE system response, which had my name , date of birth, Alien registration number. Had "work authorised" on it and next to authorisation validation period it had indefinite , it had given name: and this is where it had my first, and two middle names in the same field, middle name field was blank, and last name field was correct.

She did process and application for me , but the name was all screwed up omit, because she had to enter my given name into th e SNAP system as it was written on the save system response, it wouldn't let her enter it fully, let's say my name is Allen Rodger Arnold jones, ( it isn't ) my ssn application says ALlen Rodger Arn jones , howlong will this verification take? Uscis website says 10-20 days, hoping its quicker

On the bright side I was able to get my drivers licence yesterday (tuesday) using a social security affidavit, it's only valid for a. Year as that's what the temporary I-551 stamp is valid for , the y also used the save system, and my licence reads the correct name...

I did call the uscis on Monday after the ssa and spoke to a tier 2 officer who has one hell of an attitude telling me I was wrong for going to the ssa to get a ssn before my green card had come she eventually told me she would send a message to the save system department ( heard her type it as I was on the phone) requesting a name change, she told me it will take 2 weeks to fix ..am I able to call the save system to verify the information?

Called the uscis spoke to a tier 2 who wasn't helpfull said it'll take 60 days to fix..

Hey all, I arrived here on the 12 th on my cr-1 visa, I went down to the ssa today to enquire about my ssn the lady was able to find me on the save system but they had messed my name up on the save system they had put my given name and middle names in one field , and the lady couldn't put that in her system so she had to send it for secondary verification, what should I do ?

My wife used three for my petition, one from my mother in law, and one each from a couple of my wifes family friends who happen to be ordaned ministers,

Hey all, jsut thought Id make a post, going a little crazy with a mix of nerves and excitement, I will be flying from Manchester to Memphis, my PoE will be chicago, hoping everything goes smoothly, decided I would take the misterious brown envilope out of the plastic envilope couriers delivered it in because I hadent actually looked at it yet, first thing I noticed was it wasnt brown..but white, lol.. that and there is a small tear on the side, not big enough to see anything let alone remove anything so im not worried, put it back in the plastic envilope and back into the hand luggadge lol.

How did your family act when you where leaving? My poor old mum randomly cries through the day, I try and console her, but you know what mums can be like, althought this would be the second time I have left, ( first being the navy when I was 17) and yes I am leaving the country, the world is a far smaller place now with the Internet and such, that and she will be comeing over in september to see the little one when he arrives,

We ( 2 sisters, me , mum & dad ) will be staying at my parents the night before I leave, most of the things I wont be taking with me ( electricals, furniture and such) I have given to friends & family, but I still have 2 large suitcases ( both overweight I may add... luckily american airlines dont charge to much for overwight baggadge ) alot of clothes, but quite a few personal items to add to my new home with the wife and kids. I am dreading saying goodbye, only because I know how emotional my family can get.

Last day in work on Tuesday next week, I have to say my boss has been very accomodating, getting together all my qualification certificate I have earnt whislt working there, and writing a "general referance" as he called it to put in with my CV if requiered, he even told me if for any reason me the wife and kids decided we would come back and live in the UK, my job will be waiting for me so thats nice.

I hold a CR-1 visa. although on the DS-230 I requested my ss number delivered , I have read that I should go down to the social security office after 10 - 14 days and see if they have my number? Im not to worried about it, because im taking enough saving to live off for a few months, but would like to get a job asap, that and when we opened our US joint account they used my passport number and requested I change it to my SSN as soon as I have it.
