This is the reply I got for a service request- Check Case Processing "The status of this service request is: Dear ___________,                    This is a follow up message to your inquiry SR______________, submitted on 11/--/2023, notifying us that your case is taking longer than expected.   We reviewed your case and the application, petition, or other request you filed is still pending. We have determined that your immigration benefit request has not been pending longer than what is normal for the specific request type. Please be assured we are handling your request with the care and dedication it deserves. Once we take action on your application, petition, or other request, we will send a notice to your address on record." So an I-90 filed in November 2023, and still not processed in March 2026 (29 months) "has not been pending longer than what is normal". Makes one question the normalcy of normal 🤐

I am an independent consultant and for ever assignment I bid for I need to provide proof of my work eligibility. Not everybody understands what ADIT is or what's NOA and how it makes your GC valid. Most people just look at the GC and say O, it seems it has expired, are you still eligible to work in the U.S. ? 🤐 Same with travel, I lost almost $700 in December 2024 because Lufthansa wouldn't let me board the flight to U.S. (via Frankfurt) as they don't recognize I-797 NOA as extended GC and need a visa stamped on the passport or a valid non-expired GC. That's has made me vary of traveling outside of the U.S. even to Montreal that's only four hours drive for me.

Hey folks, my local Congresswoman's office says "they are looking into it". Though some of my friends are saying that given she is from the Democratic party it wouldn't make any difference or, even worse, can make USCIS mad 😞 . It's been 28 months since I filed my I-90 in November 2023. The two year extension letter will expire in May and I haven't received the 36 month extension letter yet. So despair all around.

Hi folks, I applied for my GC renewal in Nov, 2023 (expiring in May 2024), I got a I-797 NoA stating that I have 24 months extension from the date of my GC expiry. Now that 24 months will be over in three months and my case is still processing (27 months later). In 2024 USCIS started giving 36 months extension letter to renewal applicants. Has anybody gotten the 36 month extension letter after getting the 24 month letter? Thanks for your ideas and suggestions.

It says "Case Is Still Being Processed By USCIS" and "Estimated time until your case decision: 8 Months" that takes it to July 2026, full 32 months from the application date. No response to my inquiry either. I am not a citizen, don't know how much help my congressman could be.

It's been more than two years since I sent the i-90 form, and more than five months since I submitted an inquiry. The response to the inquiry said: "Thank you for your inquiry, submitted on June 22, 2025, notifying us that your case may be outside normal processing times. We have received your request and assigned it an Inquiry ID (xxxxxxxxxxxxx) that we will use for referencing any subsequent messages. USCIS may require at least 60 days to process your request." No response to the inquiry as well. Any ideas folks?

Yes, it was through this link only. I don't know how much weight congressmen have in these matters. Some folks have tried that in the past with negligible results. My uscis page is now saying "Estimated time until your case decision: 10 Months". That puts it in July 2026. I filed the I-90 in November 2023. So it will be 34 months from the I-90 filing date. Wonder it has taken this long for anybody? My GC expired in the May 2024 and the I-797 I received gives me extension only till May 2026 (24 months). Has anybody contacted them for a 36 months extension letter?

I did submit a case inquiry more than two months ago and haven't heard back. Tried calling USCIS customer service on 1-800-375-5283 and it just made me run in circles 😞

Has anybody got any updates on their i--90s processing time? My USCIS account says: "Case Is Still Being Processed By USCIS" ("Still" is new) "Estimated time until your case decision: 10 Months" Even if this estimated time holds, it will be 32 months (July 2026) of processing time (I applied in November 2023)!! Is it because of my nationality, my race or my name, anything else? I am seeing posts where folks are claiming their i-90 got approved in 2 days (White, France), two weeks (White, Canada) 🤷‍♂️ It really makes me wonder.

I submitted an inquiry today as it has been more than 19 months since I filed i-90 for GC renewal. So just another inquiry ID to keep track of ¯\\(ツ)/¯ ideas?

Thankfully extension has not been a problem as there was an automatic extension period of two years for Green Cards while Form I-90 applications are pending, that has now been increased to three years so I am good till May 2027. Though with everything going on, having a valid card would be helpful. Can't give up my Indian citizenship yet (India doesn't allow dual citizenship) due to some property laws in India and some other matters. Once those are settled, it will be time for N-400.

I wish it took 9-12 months. It's been 19 months for me and no update yet.

Hi, Congratulations! Just confirming, it was for AoS and not replacement of a 10 year GC. Right?

Thanks @appleblossom. I checked online and it says I can submit an inquiry after June 21, 2025. Don't know what that means? Makes me very anxious, given they haven't asked for any additional documents or anything so far. "Your case is processing normally. The earliest you can submit questions is June 21, 2025. Please do not contact us before this date. We will notify you if we need any additional information. We appreciate your patience while we review your case. Processing times may change – return to this page regularly for updates." it's been 18 months and USCIS says "your case is processing normally"
