  1. So...... I am ready to send my paperwork just waiting on the doctor to sign the medical papers.

He asks for a valid id, I explained that I don't have one. So he says that it will cause a

red flag and my paperwork will be denied 'cause they have to put info for a valid identification on the I-693.

The part that asks for identification (if I use my passport, he will have to put expired and my app will be tossed to the side when it goes thru screening). Is that true?

So I can't use my passport or id from back home because it expired.

I am kinda of stuck. I do have a clergy card though with a picture on it (wonder if he would accept that).

Tried to go to Costco and get my husband to sign for membership and include me, that didn't work (they need valid govt issued id)

Everybody needs a valid id even gym membership.

Should I tell him to go ahead and use the info and write passport expired.

Can anyone help me with this?cray5ol.gif

  2. So I am applying for AOS based on immediate family( Spouse of USC).

I got my Biometric interview letter, but it doesnt say anything about the biometrics for the sponsoring US Citizen spouse. So my question is "is the biometrics only for the intending immigrant or does both the intending immigrant and the sponsoring spouse need to attend the biometrics appointment

    Thanks

    Only for the intending immigrant.

  3. question 22 says:

    a) Your relative is in the US and will apply for AOS at the USCIS office located at:

    b) If your relative is not eligible for AOS, he will apply for a visa abroad at the US consulted located at:

I am a J1 visa holder from France, legally present in the US.

for a) I wrote Los Angeles, CA (where I currently live).

But I don't know what should I write in b): N/A or Paris, France ?

I have looked in forums and have seen plenty of different things!

Again, I truly appreciate your help !

    a) You should look up your field office here (this is where you interview will be held.); http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=050d6c94d87c6210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=050d6c94d87c6210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD

    b) They are asking if you were to file from abroad where would you file. Try to look up your consulate here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/ or go to the US Embassy in France and you will find the info there.

    Hope this helps.

  4. I have a few questions... I am the beneficiary (wife) and my husband is the petitioner.

    I-130

    PART C

    17. List husband/wife and all children of your relative

Does the petitioner's name go there or the beneficiary....it's kind of confusing

Also, we have two children together, do we list their names too or only if it's the beneficiary's kids with a different Father.

    19. Your relative's address abroad.

Beneficiary(me) is in the United States so... do we still have list the address abroad?

    21. If filing for your husband/wife give the last address at which you lived together.

Does this really mean the last address or should I put the current address. We have been married for 10 years and living together for 10 years.

    G-325A

Our fathers are both deceased so the part where it asks for City and Country of Residence for Father, should we put 'deceased'?

    Thank you so much!

  5. I sent 4 pages of pictures- 4 picture for a page, total 16, but some of them were made as a collage made of few smaller ones. Some people say no need for more than just few pictures, but me and my husband wanted our package of documents to be as full as possible smile.png

Thank you Mehur4e. Did you label the pictures (like did you have to explain who was on the picture and where it was taken)?

  6. I am much older than my husband and this is probably our big red flag. But it does not matter about the red flags if you can prove that your marriage is real. I do not know why these officers were so rude to you, but maybe they were trying to help you overcome a red flag with their line of questioning. Anytime the USCIS is showing attention to your case, it is better than a denial. We just have to wait and deal with the next step when it comes.

I wish you the best and keep me up-to-date as will I.

Hey Dumb/Dumber what is the age difference between you and your spouse?

My husband is USC and is 7yrs older me. Will that be a red flag too?

    We've been married for 10years.

  7. We used to live in an apartment but now we are living at a house with landlord's family upstairs,

and we don't get to have our own separate utility bill. The landlord tells us how much is allocated to us each month.(there are two other households living in this house).

but, thanks anyway. I guess I should have done it while we were living at an apartment. =(

and I will definitely look into life insurance thing.

Is your name on the lease? maybe you can use that.

  8. 4. I have been living together with my husband for almost 3 years, but I don't have any utility bill under my name since I don't have a social security number or credit. many people say that I should send the copies of utility bill coming for both of us and I don't know what to do. I am wondering how other people(w/o social number) have managed to do that. Should I include something like a copy of my bank statement(which has our address on it)?

It never hurts to ask, call either your electricity or gas company, or have your spouse call and ask them if your name can be added on the account as well as appear on the bill. I called on electricity and gas company, I was kind of shocked, they didn't question or even ask for ss #, as well on one of our credit cards. Also, life insurance - your name can be added as the beneficiary, car insurance (if you don't drive they'll just list your name.

  9. Oh, ok. My husband had a travel document issued to him from China. If your embassy will give you one of those, it should be an acceptable form of identification for the IRS and maybe (don't quote me on this) even the USCIS if you didn't want to return home. I'd ask though. My husband used his travel document for everything (travel etc.) for years before he received his Japanese citizenship. The one from China at least basically IS a passport.

Mmmm I'll look into that. It's worth a try.

    Thank you so much!

  10. This forum is not really about tax issues. Tax law is an entirely separate industry and you're better off asking those that are more experienced in tax-related questions. The advice you may receive is generally going to be less reliable than immigration-related responses.

In response to your question #3, it probably has little effect given what I know (very limited) about your situation.

Thanks for responding....would like to know if anyone has ever filed with tax status being 'single' and got denied

or got an REF to change their tax status.

    Anyone?

  11. Hi,

The last time I asked the taxes question on this forum, I was asked to have my husband amend his taxes from 'single' to 'married filing separately.'

We then decided to wait and file 2012 taxes and amend the past two years at the same time. The tax guy told my husband that

    in order to do that I need a ITIN. I reviewed the ITIN form and here are my questions;

    1) The form asks for visa info and when it expires. I have been here for 16 years. My I-94 got lost but I have my FOIA records, they

do not state the date for I-94 expiration. Will that be a problem? I have been reading where USCIS/ICE is visiting people now will this work against me after my 'status' is submitted to IRS?

    2) My passport and home country ID have expired though I have them. The Embassy here has flat out denied to renew either one and told me I have to go

Back home first to get it done. Does the IRS accept expired identification?

    3) If I submit the information with IRS transcripts showing filing status as 'single' and then amend the taxes after I get my EAD, will I be denied my AOS?

    4) How is this situation working against/for me?

Please help me get to the bottom of this. I am ready to file but want to make everything done correctly. This is the only thing that I need to rectify.

    Thank you so much!
