  1. As long as you passed the interview and have submitted enough evident, I don't see why they would with-hold you from your Greencard any longer. Although I have heard some cases this can turn into a stokes interview.

But if it happens, it happens. You both know you're a legitimate marriage, you just have to push a little further, to prove it to the USCIS.

    * Our interview is on July 13th. We will probably get asked the same, ridiculous questions about "being paid off" etc. Sometimes it's hard to explain to other people, especially the government, the love two people have for one another.

Good luck, I hope your status updates soon and you receive that deserved green card.

  4. So today waking up, feeling fed up as usual because we haven't heard a thing. Nicole (my wife) leaves to go to work, as usual.

Then suddenly, my iPhone decides to beep the Metal Gear Solid text tone, I take a look assuming it was Nicole. "358-42" Who the heck is that? I think to myself.

Then I see, "Your USCIS case status has updated for: MSC*******" blahblahblah...

Anyways July 13th is our big interview day! I had to tell everyone, it's finally around the corner...!

    SO EXCITED.

  5. I had mine done recently.

Here is how it went for me,

Upon arrival I had all of my vaccination records and passport page, photocopied for their records. I was then asked to fill in a few forms, including the I-693 with all the details I could answer (remember to bring your NOA or anything which has your alien number on it.) Also make sure you answer the forms correctly and fill them in clearly, as they can be really funny with this.

Once I had filled them in, I waited a while to be seen by the nurse. Once in the private booth, I had my weight and height taken and waited again. The doctor came in and was very friendly throughout the entire process, he tested my hearts and lungs and my flexibility. He then injected a PPD test under my skin. (I should add none of the injections hurt at all)

The PPD test is to test for a reaction to Tuberculosis in the skin. This test will be read 48 - 72 hours later and they will determine what action needs to be taken. ** If you have a reaction, it DOES NOT MEAN you have TB, it just means you have come into contact with the virus. **

After the PPD test, he bandaged it up and told me we had to come back to check it after 48 hours. He then took a look at my vaccination records and could see that I wasn't up to date on some vaccinations. I had to have a further two shots, One was for Varicella(sp?) and another but I can't remember which one it was. I should also say The previous day I had vaccinations administered at another doctors, these were an up to date tetanus and hepatitis B.

Then came the blood tests. These were to test for Syphilis and HIV virus in your blood stream. It was two vials and again, didn't hurt.

After the vaccinations we left and came back 48 hours later.

    The next visit

When arriving I was seen by the doctor straight away, they looked at my PPD test and confirmed it had a reaction so I had to have a chest X-ray, to confirm the virus wasn't in my lungs. The PPD test is analysed by how much of a bump is raised in your skin around the injection mark. If it is more than 5mm they will consider that a positive reaction. Apart from the news of the PPD, my Syphilis and HIV tests came back all clear, so I was obviously happy about that.

This whole thing can be a costly process, the doctors fees including vaccinations, blood-work and chest x-ray, total was a little over $600. But I had to have four vaccinations and the x-ray on top.

Good luck and remember DON'T TENSE YOUR MUSCLES, or injections WILL hurt.

  6. Again i'm sorry it's another rant from me. Doesn't really need any help here, just want to post how I'm feeling again.

So April 12th they received our RFE reply, and it's still processing... slowly. We recently sent off the EAD request as well, and it got sent back (due to me forgetting to tick the TOP BOX ((lol...)) But hopefully it's all going smoothly.

Each and every day that goes by I miss home, and my family and friends. I like it here but I tend to spend most of my time confined to one room, it's really hard.

Even though my Wife is supporting me, she has no money to buy herself luxuries and I have run out of money months ago. The world seems to be closing in on us, but we're still strong, no fights no arguments, it's just bliss. I'm so thankful I found her, met her, fell in love with her and married her, she truly is one of a kind.

I have a question for all of you, just so I can occupy my mind a little more.

How many times did you check the USCIS website case status, whilst you were processing?

How many times a day did you rush for the mail / check the mail box?

I can't be the only one who checks it atleast 13 times a day, and i'll probably start going to see if the mail is here around 12pm. Then again at 1...2...3 until it arrives.

Arghh! Hope all of you current filers, are doing okay! xx

  7. My question is, if we get to the interview process, what items can I bring to prove it's a bona-fide marriage?

Firstly, we have pictures, of the wedding, since it wasn't really planned it was a town hall service, but I've made a promise to my wife (and I intend to keep it) that once I am able to work and support her, we'll save up for a nicer wedding day (and the bahamas)

She recently signed me up onto a phone plan, signed onto her minutes and get a phone with it.This is Verizon. But are we able to add my name to the account?

And due to her supporting me at the minute and herself, we're unable to move from her Mothers home.

WHICH banks will allow us to open a joint account? I have my passport and birth certificate available.

This is all really stressful. Since I'm a VWP I realize that the evidence has to be precise. I know that telling them our feelings for each other and our situation, won't really affect their judgement.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  8. So I replied to the Request for Further Evidence, by submitting my Medical Examination (Cost over $400) I had a few catch up booster shots, and the blood work all came back good. The only thing I was annoyed with was the extra $50 for the PPD test chest x-ray I had to have. URGH. Anyways all came back with good results. Mailed off yesterday... Eek eagerly awaiting a reply from them, constantly checking the USCIS website too.

My wife is always "Think positive think positive..." But I'm ever so nervous.

Sorry guess I just needed to post how I am feeling. It's like butterflies but anxiety at the same time. BRILLIANT.

Anyways please all post to me telling me about your current pending status! I'd like to hear from others!!!

  9. Hi FORUM,

So happy to finally join the site!

My wife and I recently filed for my Adjustment of Status to the U.S, We sent off all the forms, except the I-693. Now we knew we would receive an RFE letter, but the requests it's asking for have confused me and though she doesn't like to admit it, my wife too..

Any help as to explaining what it is actually asking for, in this quote from the letter, would be very helpful!

Submit a Properly completed and signed Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record for the applicant on Form I-485 (all pages of Form I-693 must be the same revision date) The Medical examination MUST be conducted by a civil surgeon who has been designated by the USCIS. The medical must be issued less than one year prio to the filling form date of I-485.
    • Medical Examination using the 06/05/08 revision date, the medical must be conducted on or before 12/31/09
    • Medical Examination using the 10/14/09 revision date, the medical must be conducted between 10/14/09 and 07/21/10
    • Medical Examination using the 02/25/10 revision date, the medical must be conducted on or after 02/25/10
    • Medical Examination using the 07/20/10 revision date, medical must be conducted on or after 07/20/10

The items in BOLD are what confused us...

Also I have copies of my vaccination records, sent from my country, these A4 copies contain the details of my doctor, what vaccines I received, when, how much and who by.

Are the copies okay for the civil surgeon to review?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP :)
