Our amended returns has been sitting with IRS for 4 months now. This shutdown is just crazy. Everybody waiting will have to wait much longer!

It's Wednesday, May 22nd and I just checked the mail earlier...guess what's in the mailbox? The GC! Awesome! I got it after 21 calendar days!

got my SSN after 14 calendar days! It could have been earlier though, I only checked the mail today.

done with CFO! next steps: clean and clear my room, sort stuff and pack!

at first I thought a lawyer is necessary to file the petition...but after repeatedly reading the instructions and bumping into VJ, a lawyer is not needed after all!

Visa on hand! It's similar to that of a tourist visa stamp. >.

visa packet's in-transit! will arrive tomorrow, most probably. I will be out though, left my mom an authorization letter.

alright! medical certificate is ready! BUT it's a bit late to drive to the clinic to get my immunization. Christmas rush-last day of work traffic jam all over - that's for sure. Don't wanna get stuck. >.

won't be able to complete my medical until I present a med cert from a hematologist about my bruises on my legs. Med cert won't be ready until tom. I can only go back to SLEC on Dec 26. Interview's on Jan 4. Hope the results get forwarded to the embassy in time for my interview!

medical just took 3.5 hrs...BUT! i need to see a hematologist and get a med cert for the bruises on my legs before I get cleared! and most hematologists are by appointment only! the nearest appointment I got is this Thursday...it's still good!

going to the salon for a haircut, then have my photo taken. wanna take advantage of a blow-dried hair for the visa photo. >.

Email response from the embassy! Email is the way to go! "We received the electronic file from the State Department’s National Visa Center (NVC) on December 5, 2012 and should receive the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)-approved visa petition (Form I-130) shortly."

just learned last night our case is complete...then saw an e-mail this morning about my interview date! wow! amazing!
