Naturalization interview was scheduled for January 27. The exam was passed and application was approved. Now we're just waiting for the letter containing the information about the oath ceremony.

We applied for citizenship back in July. The update that was received this evening says the case is in line for an interview.

10 year GC arrived today. Now to start preparing for citizenship.

I-751 submitted and biometrics done. Now we wait. It would be nice to get through this with no RFE, but I'm not counting on that since so many people are submitting what seems like such good evidence and still getting RFEs.

Everything you mentioned plus a copy of approval to have him added to my credit card, proof of joint health insurance, proof of joint auto insurance, proof of joint payment for individual personal taxes we're required to pay for owning a home, boarding passes for past trips, and flight confirmation for an upcoming trip.

Time sure flies. I can't believe it's been almost two years. I got way too comfortable with not having to complete forms, gather evidence, and wait on the USCIS, but now it's time to get it together and prepare to remove conditions.

Fernandez19, your time will be here before you know it. Thanks, MrTee12! I mailed it out yesterday. I was pretty confident with what we submitted until I started reading about all the RFEs people were getting for submitting pretty much the same evidence we submitted. I'm trying to remain positive that it'll be enough, but also remaining realistic that we may get an RFE.

I agree Hamaca was pretty nice. We also stayed close to Hamaca at the Bellevue Dominican Bay resort. It's not as nice as Hamaca, but it's good enough if you're on a budget. Did you make plans for a trip this month?

Hubby passed his driver’s exam yesterday and now has his license. I think I was way more nervous about the test than he was. He’s become a lot more confident and comfortable behind the wheel. HUGE difference from when he first started driving. I still occasionally have to remind him to pick up his speed, but overall he’s doing much better.

Tomorrow morning we’ll be on a plane headed to Aruba. I’m super excited. After such a busy year, I need this vacation.

Girl, why in the world didn't you have him send his stuff to you once you got your NOA2? I can barely stand all these delays you guys are running into, so you must be going through it. I sure hope you guys can start moving along again soon!

This first year has gone by so quickly. It's been very busy and exhausting, but we managed to push through it together. Overall things are going well and some things are going better than expected.

We bought another car last week for my husband to drive. Being a passenger in the car while he drives is extremely painful. He may actually be worse than that elderly person that I can't stand getting stuck behind. He drives way below the speed limit and steps on the brake every 10 feet. I'm glad I worked on being patient during the visa process because I've needed to exercise that same patience when he's driving.

Steph, I was scared too, thinking he'd drive like a maniac. But he's still very nervous behind the wheel, as he's never driven before.
Kaskada, yep, it takes YEARS to get to our destination. That's exactly why I don't let him drive if we have to be somewhere.
MM, my husband tells me I should stop at yellow lights. I prefer not to sit at lights if I can help it.

Congrats! I'm so glad everything worked out for you and you got the job sooner rather than later. I hope you're ready to breeze through the rest of this process now that that weight's been lifted.

I couldn't have asked for a better partner. I am so proud of my husband's hard work, motivation, and determination. He's been extremely helpful with everything and has made this transition period much easier for the both of us. I'm loving this teamwork!

Hey, girl! I'm always so glad to hear that you guys are moving along! How's he liking the job? Everything is going well with us. I've finally decided to move forward with getting his driver's license. So today I'm going to take him to take his test.

We've spent the last three days trying to find him a car and a job. No luck with the car, but he got a job today that he starts tomorrow morning. The good thing about it is it's close to my job and has similar hours so we can ride together. Gracias a Dios!

I'm still getting used to the fact that my husband has never seen or used certain household items. So far I've had to show him how to use the potato peeler, mop, microwave and can opener. He says, "In your country there's always a machine or something to do the work for you." He occasionally still puts some dishes away in the wrong spot, but at least he's trying and learning.

Monday we applied at the social security office and the card came in the mail today. Now we can work on getting a license and a job.

Received Welcome Letter last week. Received Green Card today. Still waiting on Social Security Card. I'll give it one more week before we go and apply in person.

Last night was our first night together in our home. Waking up to my husband in OUR bed in OUR home was kind of strange, but VERY nice! We're going to make breakfast and then relax the rest of the day. We have an early morning flight tomorrow for our honeymoon...almost a year after our wedding. We're so excited!

Honestly, I didn't care about a wedding and still don't. All I wanted was the certificate so I could start the process. I chose to use the money I saved from not having a wedding to make trips to see him. Now that we're together, I'd rather use the money to travel and do things together. We enjoyed our trip and look forward to the next.

I'm trying to organize and make closet and drawer space for husband, but I'm having a hard time getting rid of things. I've been trying to get this done for the last few months and I've made no progress. Now I only have two weeks to get this done.
