Hey Guys,
This is a Dominican Republic specific question!
My fiancee has no record of vaccinations whatsoever and I am pretty sure that he will need all the ones for his age group 27-49. I wanted to get an estimate of how much we would be paying that day for the vaccines.
If you guys remember how much you paid and what vaccines were administered write them below please :-). We are trying to see if it'll be cheaper to go to a regular doctor and have them administer the necessary vaccinations from the list or if it's not worth all that hassle and it's easier to just pay on the day of the medical. We are trying to save every cent possible with this crazy expensive process lol!
Thank you all,
Angela & Tony

ANGELA! como te enteraste q NVC recibio tu caso? ellos te avisan?
I called nvc and they told me they received it. my noa2 was 8.11 and they received 8.18 and left nvc on the 19th! You just have to keep calling and asking.
-
No, all k-1 go through NVC. Give it a week from noa2 and call and see preferably at night after they process what they get throughout the day.
-
My I-129F was approved last week (Aug 15th) by the VSC. I called the customer service number on the I-797 and spoke to a customer service agent who told me that now approved I-129Fs are sent directly to the listed consulate and NOT to the NVC! When I told him that I thought that the case first goes to the NVC and then to the cvonsulate he told me that that is still the case with I-130s, but NOT with I-129Fs!
Does any one have any other information relating to this? I would like to narrow down the timeline as to when my fiancee should expect to hear from the consulate in Moscow. The agent said that she should hear within a month...which is an eternity...
Everyone's petition goes to NVC. All approval letters say that the approved petition will be sent to the listed consulate but they ALL go through NVC first. At NVC the case is put into the system and a new case number is generated (this is the case number you will use for the rest of the process).
Call NVC at 603-334-0700 press 1 for english and press 5 to speak to a representative. They will be able to tell you when they received your petition, your new case number and when they ship out your petition to the consulate.
Normal processing times is anywhere from 2 days to weeks (some cases go through additional processing- don't know how that is picked). We were approved the 11th , NVC received the 18th and was shipped to consulate on the 19th (pretty quick and easy for us).

No! Not only will this not work, it won't work because it isn't true. Telling such a lie is a very bad thing. A successful USA immigration process requires truth telling. All ideas of saying, writing or answering anything with something other than the truth must be vanquished from your mind. Otherwise, be ready to plan a life together outside the USA.
I clearly have no intention of lying so no thank you, I will not prepare to live outside of the US...I will be living with my fiance right here in good 'ol U S of A.
What I asked was based on the OP's comment. I am no expert in cultures but there are plenty of cultures that allow you to meet your future bride the first time and then are not allowed to see each other until the wedding date. I cannot make such assumption from the couple in this case because I am not a psychic.
I gave a suggestion based on what I have seen done in the past LEGALLY...if i give someone a suggestion based on a criteria that does not apply then clearly that suggestion no longer becomes valid. It is the OP's responsibility to see if my suggestion goes with their situation.
-
Your response doesn't seem appropriate. It was not a suggestion to be untruthful. The suggestion appears to be based on this comment from the OP:
Thank you, some people are quick to answer before really reading what is being asked.

Steph, I'm sorry I dont have anything useful to contribute, except that most people bring all the documents they need from here...you can call el registro civil and see what the official requirements are and then tell any judge that gives you extra paperwork that you have all he needed official documents.
Any-who...I actually came on here to tell you that you just made me LOL....like really loudly. It is the sad reality of our country that almost everyone with power is a scam artist...lol...really be careful around those who know you have dollars instead of pesos because that's when they show their expertise in scamming.
All in all, you might be able to get a list of judges from the registro civil so give them a call or have your fiance go to them personally. Good luck with everything and have a safe flight mujer!

That won't work. The meeting must occur within the two years prior to filing the petition. I would respond to the RFE with a letter withdrawing the petition, then go meet and file again.
Can't they send a letter specifying that cultural values forbade communication between them? I as because that is what the OP is implying. Is that not the only way to overcome the requirement for meeting in the past 2 yrs? I am not sure how that works which is why I am asking instead of telling them to do that.

We got approved the 11th (thursday) and got out hard copy monday (15th). Give it some more time though because some people don't get it for like a week or so.
Good luck on the rest of your process!

There really is no "skipping" over people as there is no "single" line here. The cases go to many adjudicators with many different workloads.
That is EXACTLY why I put them in quotations.
-
I am not 100% sure but I think that you have to request expedite at all stages, uscis, nvc and consulate. Maybe someone who has gone through this can verify this is correct.
Good luck!

this is how my step looks :
Initial Review
On February 18, 2011, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
omg,, this is normal?? when i call they says that the are working on it ? they work weekend?? it affects my case if i call alot??? help me cause it kills me looking how everybody is getting it and not me
OK so on Aug 18 (thursday) call USCIS and do what I told you above. I don't think it affects your case if you call alot because you are calling USCIS and not VSC. I know it sucks to be first "in line" and have other people "skip" over you, but if you don't hear anything by thursday call them.
No te desesperes mucho que ya pronto llegaras al final.
-
What exactly is your NOA1 date? After 6 months have passed you can call USCIS (800-375-5283). From there go to check your case status put you're receipt number in and then press the number to speak to a representative. When they answer let them know you want to put in an expedite request for being outside of normal processing time (5 months + 30 days). They will likely transfer you to a Tier II representative and you can put in your request to them.

awww congrats!!! I cant wait to get ours! ugh it feels like that day is soooo close yet sooo far!
-
I haven't gotten one, and you have two. Can I have one?
jajaja I thought the same thing when I read the title...
I got my NOA2 and the notice date was July 27th... I got another NOA2 in the mail yesterday and it was dated August 4th ? I went online and said the notice date was August 4th.. Was it a mistake on their part or what ?
Yea, I think you should call uscis tomorrow and find out even though I think it's no big deal but just call to make sure.
-
yay congrats!
-
I am right behined you....NOA1:April 13, 2011..let us know when you get your NOA2...
My prediction you will get your NOA2 end of this month! (Just a speculation though)
I really do hope so!!!! VSC's April has started to get approved already! Soon it will be our turn...I will let you know when I get approved and hopefully that won't take long so we can start worrying about nvc and case numbers and consulate and interviews!
-
Texas does not process i129f petitions. We send them to the Dallas Lockbox or the Lewisville address and from there it gets routed either to Vermont or California. Once you receive your NOA1, it will state what center your petition has been sent to.
Good luck!
-
It's 8am but not eastern time, I am not sure if it is central or pacific time. Call back in an hour or so and you should be able to get through!
-
I believe that since you are filing cr1/ir1 this is the only confirmation you will get. Your husband can just print out the email and go to the consultorio with it. DR beneficiaries only receive packet 4 which has the interview letter and some people get the forms that need to be filled out. You should just download all the forms needed from the website and fill them out.
-
Congrats!!!!!!
-
Sent ours on April 1st, recieved on April 4th and NOA-1 on April 7th.
we have the same NOA1 date!
-
WOW!!! Our estimated date range for possible adjudication is now squarely within the month of July!! I'll be scheduling our interview at the embassy before we know it. I've even seen a few March filers getting their NOA2's already!
Hopefully CSC will start approving you guys soon! We still have a while to wait but I'm okay with that for now because I am going to go visit him at the end of the month but God knows that after I get back I will be very antsy waiting for NOA2!
-
I think that if your fiance is going to deploy soon you can request for expedite. Look through VJ for expedite requirements and how to go about it. If expedite does not get approved it does not affect your petition, it will just be processed with all the others.

Seems like 300s is the number!
If he gets the vaccines elsewhere before the medical then there will be no need to administer them again and pay the money at the consultorio (well at least he will get reimbursed). I guess now it's a matter of if the hassle is worth it or not (going to another doctor plus what they charge etc).
We will probably just let him do it at the consultorio and get it over with there but we will see.
