He hasn't decided about Hijab yet
Why does your husband need to decide wether you'd wear a hijab or not? what about you, what do you want to do? Don't loose your identity just because you married outside your race or religion, I'm sure if you're married to a good man, He'll respect your opinions and won't treat you like you're a robot under his orders.

Why would you change the way you dress simply because you're married to an Arab? That's weird and yes, it would appear you're trying too hard or trying to be something you're not. You don't suddenly become Arab because you're married to one. Playing dress up is for little kids and performers.

Why is it so hard to believe that a God can perform this miracle?

chri'stina reacted to Peikko in Study: Men Don't Notice If Women Wear High Heels
It was a general question, not specific to heels, although there is significant medical evidence that high heels cause long term problems if worn regularly. Personally, I would not sacrifice health for looks. Wearing heels briefly for an evening out, fine, regularly, no chance.
There are other health issues that are connected to this question though, and I do not think anyone should risk their health in order to (briefly) look better. Of course, people are free to choose to do whatever they like but my choice is to be healthy first.

chri'stina got a reaction from one...two...tree in The Right’s Library of Fake Quotes
Danno, pointing out things like "where are the leftwing misquotes" in a thread about rightwing misquotes is typical. You know why there aren't any in the thread. You need to work on better rebuttals because yours do not work. How about first accepting that these quotes are misused by some rightwing people? And admit it's a shame. I will. That doesn't mean you misuse them or every rightwing person does, even if some want it to seem that way.
And then of course people pull out the "you have no comprehension skills". I don't think it's an issue of comprehension. It's an issue of stubbornly supporting views on both sides.

Are all of you hearing yourselves?
This typical back and forth between certain members looks ridiculous.

Unfortunately, the loudest voices are the ones that end up defining any religion. If only one voice is being heard, that will be the one people listen to. Right now the Islamic terrorists are carrying their brand of religion throughout the world. Until the silent majority change to be the vocal majority and work towards eliminating these fanatics, that will be the voice heard.
If we had terrorists from any other religion, that would be the voice heard unless the vast majority condemn the terrorist actions and take additional action to stop funding to terror.

chri'stina got a reaction from nab in VJ's obsession with Muslims
It's annoying how they all think they have to race to get the latest news and they stay on the same subject for hours. Some of the news anchors even look embarrassed after awhile, to me. I bet some producer is telling them in their ear buds what to say and they are thinking "this is ####### but I need a paycheck".

How many US cities have you visited exactly? Do you take road trips or just fly everywhere? I have taken many road trips up and down the east coast between FL and NY, plus road trips towards the west all the way up to Illinois. I haven't been as far west as California yet, but this side of the country, I have driven all over it. Not sure what you are talking about.

Eventually, probably 3 posts in, someone would demand to know how I came up with the values. So I would need to keep a report handy. Your negativity right here takes off a couple pts from your value by the way.

I'm middle class. I'm sitting in a cube in a corporate headquarters with nearly 10,000 other people just like me. Most of us are middle class. Most of us are comfortable. The culture is chill, the money is good and the business (without getting into details) is not very volatile so recessions don't hurt much. Company stock has weathered this recession well, as it did the last one.
So you'll understand if I find it very confusing when the narrative from the left implies that the middle class and corporate America are at war with each other. It sure doesn't feel like it where I sit. In fact, it never has.

You aren't? I thought you were! (jk)
I know what you mean, they are representing their faith and how they do that will affect what people think of them and their religion. I don't deny that. But some people who want to find out more about what some people believe, would have to dig deeper than just being around a Christian or Muslim if they really wanted to evaluate someone's actions being associated with their faith or not. (long sentence there!)

I voted yes. But if my husband were alert during the decision making process, I think he would fight me hard to not do it and to let him be the one who dies. Let's pray we never face that!
