  1. Well I finally got the DHL email last night. I thought we would never get it. Almost a full month after the interview. 18 business days. They printed it 14 business days ago according to DOS. I put in a Congressional on Monday and they got right on it. I don't know what the hold up was except I know that the Consulate in Montreal is extremely backed up right now. Congratulations to all who have made it this far and good luck and patience to those who are waiting.

  2. So Montreal finally mailed my fiance's passport. Almost one month after the interview. I put in a Congressional in on Monday and I'm thinking it's a good think otherwise it might still be sitting there at the Consulate. So 18 business days after the interview and 13 business days since it was printed. Got the email from DHL last night.

  3. Well what a surprise! The Consulate just responded to my email from last Thursday and says they are sending it out today via DHL to her local DHL office. So that would be 13 business since the interview and 8 business days since they printed it. Good luck!

  4. I hope you all get your visas. My fiance's visa was issued on May 26th. We're still waiting for them to mail it. Hopefully you all get yours immediately like many others did. One lady at the DOS number told me that if the consulate it busy it can take a week or so for it to go through QC and mail out or whatever. I'm getting pretty close to contacting my representative in congress.

  5. Well DOS Visa Services tells me that my fiance's visa was printed a week ago. They are going to put in a request to see why it has not been sent yet. I think it is because the Consulate switched from the passport we registered with CSC site and instead used her brand new Canadian passport. Now maybe they don't see that as registered. They told us not to change anything on the CSC site though. I emailed the consulate as well. This is so very frustrating. At least I dont have to worry about AP or anything so now I'm just getting impatient as I know how hard it can be to contact Montreal.

Teday have you called DOS 1-202-663-1225? what have they told you?

  6. Well ours was on the 18th of May and we're also waiting. I'm not going to call DOS until next week. It also felt anti-climactic for us too. She just said congratulations we will send you the visa in the mail as she was walking away. We did not get a letter. What does yours say?

  7. Some people do call every day. I would maybe once or twice a week. There's not much you can do so don't drive yourself crazy. I just saw on trave.state.gov that most Administrative processing cases are resolved in two months. They ask that you don't try and contact the consulate for the two months of normal AP proceessing. It takes Montreal a month to answer emails so you might want to factor that in.

  8. Sometimes it can take a while. That is what I am worried about. I hope my fiance isn't in AP. Administrative processing can be normal and routine, or it can be because of something else. It can take a very long time. Keep calling and hang in there. I'm going to call tomorrow and see what DOS tells me. My fiance is a Peruvian and Canadian Citizen. Applicants from some countries like those in the middle east or Africa are often in put into AP.

  9. Same here Teday. Congratulations. You wrote a nice detailed review. So that's helpful that the consular officer told you that the visas take about a week. Seems to be about the same time period that most are reporting here on VJ.

  10. I'll never forget the day I found out that our case would go to Montreal, and then I called them and the outgoing message there says that "Just because NVC says we have your case, that doesn't mean anything. It may take up to 5 months for us to receive and begin working on your case."

Nice thoughtful message they have right? Of course it only takes a few weeks to get the first letter usually. I guess that's their way of setting expectations really low.

  11. My fiancee became eligible for appointment on April 8th. Just a couple of days after Montreal stopped taking appointments. We were very upset. I would try many times a day but a week later some appointments opened up for a few hours, and that's been about it. So I consider us extremely lucky to get an appointment for May. Just keep trying is all I can tell you. Best of luck and hang in there.

  12. iampatricias,

Did they ask you for a separate MRV receipt? We weren't able to print one. We do have the confirmation receipt with all the information of the appointment and the MRV receipt number though. Did you get your visa yet?

  13. No packet 4 yet. Thank God for this website where I learned that we could call DOS and find out case status. I know about 3 of those people by name because I called so much. Chris and Anna were very helpful. Some others gave incorrect information and/or were rude. Good luck to all of you who have appointments or are in the "packet process."

  14. Same here! May 18th it is for my fiancee too. We can't believe it. We had some trouble with the website at first, but after I tried it the second time it showed the 2nd and 18th as open dates. 2nd was too soon for us. She hasn't had her medical yet and is still waiting for the vaccine test results. I received the Appointment Confirmation in the mail.

I wonder why the 18th opened up like that? Oh well all that matters is that we're in :)
