Yeah we had met and dated a year before we got married, I guess it is better you guys wait a little bit to get married. Try meeting once or twice before it. I met my husband twice before our wedding. I don't think they will approve you getting married at the first meet and it is better you don't take this risk!!! And it is good to get a chance to know each other better, spend some time together and make sure this is the right decision!
Good luck!!!!!

Hey I got married 4 days after I arrive in the USA. I got married in Vegas. As far I had no problem, they approved my petition and I will have my interview on june 29th.
I think it is fraud if you marry and stay, as long as she leaves I dont see any problem. Hope I'm right lol

Well, I am CR-1 Visa but I guess I can help you with some topics, not all them though. I was told NVC schedules interviews for the CR-1 cases not K-1, only the embassy schedules interviews for fiancee visas.
You can track my case on DHL put EXP 16 may 2011a and select the dates: 05/16/11 as far and you will see it
A friend I made here have had his interview yesterday and consulate said it is up 2 weeks.
Good luck! You will have your interview date assigned very soon!

You can send in the documents for IV package now! Put the barcode sheet and everything requested. After that NVC will process your documents and in 20 business days (or less my case took 17 business days) they will close your case. Few days later they will assign an interview date! Good luck!

I thought you were saying you havent met your fiancee in person. Well, you guys are good to go then, my petition have been approved and I will have my interview on june 29th. I have seen many cases here where people in the same boat than us have been approved too. Now its up to you! She only would be committing fraud if her intent was to stay in the USA. If she is leaving there is no problem. And I would not trust in these lawyers, if you take a read at some posts here at the visa journey you will see they are, most of the times, just a waiste of time and money! If you follow the guides here you can do it by yourself. Your case is simple. Lawyers are needed for most complex cases. But like I said it is up to you.
Wish you the best.
