My fiance had his interview on Sept. 12th. and I was present at the interview. The consular officer said everything was, interview went fine and all the paperwork submitted was fine. She just informed us that they have to do additional administrative processing and that we should check our case status to see if we get approved. She sounded very positive and almost assuring us that he will get his visa approval within a month, possibly a little longer. I have been checking the site for nearly three and half weeks and it read: application in processing. TODAY when i checked it read: CASE NUMBER NOT FOUND! What does this mean? Is this a denial? Did his case get lost? Oh man, I am in total panic mode right now!
PLEASE HELP!

After reading the posts about being put on "administrative processing" I have realized it is my fiance, the beneficiary currently living in Dubai is from a MENA country, which is why they are doing the administrative process-I think. I just don't see any reason as to why the CO would tell me everything went fine in the interview, the paperwork is fine, but then provide me with a visa refusal form. She spoke to us as if we were approved, stating to drop of the passport at 1:30 on Sunday after viewing the website that declares the status of the case. At the moment that status says the following:
Case Number: xxxxx
Name: my fiance's name
Case status: Application in Process
Application in Process
Your application for a U.S. immigrant visa is undergoing routine administrative processing. This processing can require from two weeks to several months. As soon as this processing is completed, the Embassy will post a message to this website with further instructions.
Please continue to check this website on a regular basis for updates. There is no need for you to write, email, call or fax the Embassy with queries on the case, as that will not speed processing.
I recall asking to CO when we should expect for an approval, she responded it may take two week to about a month, but in some instance a little longer than a month. I am suppose my question is for those people who were put in "administrative processing" if their status read what mines states above. Any comments and info is much appreciated.
Thank you,
Yasie

You have my vote as well.

I suppose it is. My fiance's interview was on Sept. 12th.in Abu Dhabi and the officer said, "you guys submitted all the correct paperwork, interview is fine. You guys are fine, but I cannot issue you a visa today because we have additional administrative processing to do." She then continued to say, " It shouldn't take longer than a month and that to check the website for updates. She told us whenever it says it is completed to drop off the passport at 1:30 on Sunday." I guess what I am saying is regardless of missing documents we were put on AP. The website says the following when I check the status of the visa:
Application in Process

I emailed US Embassy Abu Dhabi regarding an earlier interview date but they respond that the my interview date is the earliest date they can give as per their calendar. Glad that you have an earlier date than mine. Sounds ironic that I got approved ahead of you and I got a latter interview date.
To be honest I sent more than 5times plus fax requesting an ealier date but there is no positive response.
I had two RFE's and now this. I could just scream. The first RFE was my fault because I didn't check off a box. The second one was to show evidence for circumstances of meeting. My interview date from the time I applied is going to be nearly a year. I am running out of patience!!! I think I am going to phone the NVC center if I don't get a response in the next few days to my email I sent out last night.

what you can do is try to contact your embassy and try to get an extension on the petition what they will do is extend it another 4 months and they will keep your case opened...also try to contact the national visa center they migth be able to help you with this! hope this helps
good luck you guys
Thanks for the advice. I emailed the U.S. embassy in Abu Dhabi with all my concerns, and I have yet to receive a response. I think I am also going to call the NVC and see if they can reschedule the interview date for a sooner date. What do you think is the likelihood of them rescheduling to a closer date??
Thanks for your help!

I am having the same issue. My NOA2 expires earlier than the interview date. I don't know why they have scheduled me three and half months after I have received my NOA2. This process is really getting on my nerves. I am wondering how to proceed with requesting an earlier interview date as well. My fiance doesn't speak English and I am worried they are not going to have a translator available for the language he speaks. Any suggestions as how to go about this would help!!

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but his case is at the Abu Dhabi U.S. consulate, would it affected by the USCIS technical issues?
