Can someone give me some guidance as to what you used to prove the marriage relationship? I am trying to help a friend gather his info, he's married to a woman in Thailand, and I had suggested affidavits, but wanted some clarification for those of you dealing with that embassy as to what you submitted, did you get affidavits, were they notarized, etc....?
Thanks in advance!
Photos Photos Photos of them together in Thailand. They love that there. A friend of mine lived in Thailand with his Thai wife for 2 years. He showed 100+ Thai entry stamps in his passport. That wasn't good enough. Any type of PRROF of them being together is what they want.

I am a US citizen. I will be filing for my wife in Thailand soon. Most, if not all my friends, live in Thailand. I am having a problem finding a way to getting my friends in Thailand affidavits notarized there. Does anybody know how to get around this problem?
Are they Farang? If so, you can get statements notarized at the embassy for a fee. Not sure why you would need that though. If you have proof of relationship and photos etc.

My fiancee has been approved and will be flying to Boston on March 15th. Does anyone know of a reputable low cost option for shipping personal effects? My fiancee probably has two pallets worth of stuff she would like to send here but sending via air will cost several thousands of dollars. Boat would be great but it's last minute now and I have no leads so any help is appreciated! I would be interested to know what some here have done in this circumstance.
Thanks!
Consider Freight consolidators. Cheapest option but may take awhile. Otherwise will be a fortune.

Only difference for you now is you'll have to wait until 4 years 9 months vs. 2 years 9 months before you can file for citizenship. Not that big of a deal unless you need a US passport, or a reason to vote within that time.

Canada did it. Didn't seem to cause any problems there.

I have a question...I just received the NOA2 in the mail yesterday. So today, I called the NVC, just in case. I asked for my case number, which they provided to me. When I asked for an estimated processing time at the NVC, they operator told me that our case is under additional processing? That doesn't sound good. But when I asked what that meant he only told me that soem cases go through additional processing. What is that really mean? Has this happen to any of you? If so, how long did it take your case to be forwarded to the Embassy? Thanks for your feedback.
I've seen it go 7 weeks or so in the case of BKK. Look here:

My wife printed her name on everything. Wasn't a problem. Must be a Thai way of doing signatures.

I submitted school records, but that was because my wife didn't have a birth certificate. She never had a birth certificate. Along with the school records I submitted a translated document from the Amphur where she was born. Obviously if your wife has a birth certificate, then no problem.
