  1. Today the DS-230 part 1 came in the mail, i have no idea what address i should put on it as i am in the US on a K3 visa!!.......anyway i called the NVC to ask, no available operater  .............so i used the automated line....the robot lady :P said............missing or incomplete & a checklist has been mailed, it should be sent back to portsmouth, NH, sooooooo i'm confused, does this mean we did the I-864 wrong???

    Thanks in advance

Amanda (confused & very very bored in Michigan :P )

Hi Amanda! Nice to see you made it over here!

Sounds to me as if the "voice" is just protesting the lack of DS230 in your file. I think what you might do is include a coverletter when you send in the DS230. Put your UK address on the form (if it still exists for receiving mail) and state in the letter that you are in US on a K3 and intending to return to UK for interviewing. I'm not sure what the London consulate does, but Madrid sent a copy of all the interview stuff to Butch here too, anyway.

Yeah they send another DS-230 they passed like ships in the night :P also they wanted a letter from his employer for the I-864 anyway its all been sorted out now  .now all i have to do is sit back & wait some more  for case complete  ........bring on summer......nice to hear from you Jill :luv:

  2. I have my I-864 here almost ready to go but I am very confused with the I-864A in the pack. Do we need to fill it out???

My husband is my only sponser and he makes over the poverty line without using his assets. I have been living here with him since the end of November with him (on my K3)...am I classed as a 'household member'.

Its all very confusing and I am hoping we don't have to include it at all!

    Louise

If your not useing a joint sponser you wont need the I-684A so just dont send it back!!

  3. euro, I can't wait until I can work too - and drive. Do you have your license? I will have to retake a test to get a permanent Virginia license... :crying:

    Has your SSN arrived?

In the meantime, I have kept myself busy setting up the house. I sent over a huge container of things - 112 cartons in all! The house is quite big too - 2200 square feet, but I have it all filled up now and it is starting to look real pretty, just like a home! I just wish the summer would hurry up too, it's cold up here in the mountains

    Hiya Kiki

Yeah i have to take my driving test AGAIN too, after driving for 19 years in the UK!!!

I cant get a SSN until i get EAD, its a K3 thing

I wish summer would hurry up too

  4. I have dealt with those GPS things and to be honest, I think they confuse me more than anything. They tell you to make about 5 right turns just to get off an exit ramp on a highway...but they are good for the major roads. Is there anywhere you can walk to, like local shops, until you get your bearings?

We got a 'Garmin' GPS and we love it!!! In our business we travel all over the US so we are always in a new Town, and it's awesome! We can find places and stores quickly and get around just like a local.

    Jen

Thats good to know, maybe i will beable to find my way around when mine arrives :P

  5. Euro, I saw in your signature that you are also applying for AOS. ANy particular reason for this or just for EAD and SSN reasons

I'm not doing AOS, I only applied for EAD so i could get my SSN as i have no idea how much longer my I-130 is going to be at NVC, we have just sent the last paper to them DS-230,so i might of wasted the EAD cash but oh well!!..........I didnt send NVC a change of address i just put this down as my address on the I-684 & the DS-230!!

    Good Luck

    Amanda

as for the DS-3032 my husband just sent the one i had left at his house & he wrote our case number on the top right hand corner, this was accepted no problems!!

  6. I have been here now since the 29th of december, i'm as happy as a pig in muck with Mark, BUT bored stupid all day doing nothing!!! I got a new car, a shiney new Mustang, such a handsome car  I also adopted 2 cats, they are sooo cute & so much fun, but thre is only so much you can talk to a cat about  ..my I-130 will soon be complete at NVC then i go back to London for the interview!!..........but in the mean time as its so boreing doing nowt, i splashed out $180 for EAD so i can at least maybe start my new job, well go to school to get my realtors license!!then onto the job i have waiting!!.......anyway my point is, gawd i am bored, HAPPY but bored, i dont go out in the car as i have NO sense of direction & Mark would probably have to send search parties for me on a regular basis :P ..so i ordered a GPS for the car.hahahaha I hope it hurrys,

anyway that was a bit of a whine, & now whine is over, back to normal service, thanks for listening!!

:o and its going to snow this weekend, ewww, I'm just outside Detroit, superbowl yay ;)

BORED IN MICHIGAN signing off

I wish it was summer

  7. It is important for them to have all 4 pages of each..............i take it you have the other 3 remaining pges of each , maybe you could send them to CSC along with a cover note explaining your mistake, perhaps write your receipt number in pencil on the top of each page??...or you might just want to wait to see if they request them from you!!

  8. All,

Can I summarize then, that we only submit copies of, for example, our birth certificate, divorce decree etc but we must submit original application forms i.e I-129F etc?

    Thanks

    Sacha

To file the I-129F you MUST send a I-129F with original signature,G-blah (forgot numbers? ) bio form, also has to be original signatured form x4.......all other documents sent with original petition should be copies!!..as originals will be asked for at interview!!

  9. To the members of the forum...

Now that the boards are refreshed anew... be have a unique chance to tailor the board by placing some pinned posts that could get rid of a lot of the FAQ type questions that we seem to get all of the time. Those of you have have been involved for some time know that those are... However, we need to organize them...

We need to decide what topics should be addressed, where they should be placed and who should write them. After the topics have been written, I suggest that the be placed on this forum to be peer reviewed and then after the first peer review then placed on the apropriate forum to be peer reviewed again in front of a larger audience.

So let's get the conversation started... Let's start by what topics people think should be addressed in a pinned thread and what the FAQ's are...

Good idea..I noticed a question asked many many times is......."can we visit the US while going through the visa process?"......well there was a realy good thread about this, with lots of input from a member of VJ who is actualy a Home land security officer , this topic should be pinned as many people mentioned at the time!!
