Thanks , makes me feel more assured! i hope everything turns out good for everyone, God Willing! Do u think i should call Casa directly on Monday? And if so what do i say? Do i just ask them what the status is on the interview Abdell had on August 3rd? I wonder if they can even disclose that information to me? My uncle is a Corporate Attorney should i ask him to inquire about this for me or am i jumping the gun??

    you are very welcome.

casa may not talk to you on the phone, they usually say 'send an e mail'.

since he is in security checks if you want to track that---call DOS in Washington. i dont have the number for you at the moment, perhaps someone here has it. if not i will try to find it for you.

  2. your letter says>>>>

THE FOLLOWING REMARKS APLLY IN YOUR CASE *

YOUR CASE REQUIRES ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING. WE WILL CONTACT U AS SOON AS WE ARE ABLE TO CONTINUE PROCESSING YOUR CASE

this means you are in security checks. your case has NOT been denied /sent back to USCIS.

if the officer says it will take a week or so then it is most likely true. some do wait a lot longer for these checks. it depends on what the CO decides to check or how many hits were made on him from other checks.

if anyone receives a 221g letter that says the same as above, rest assured you are just waiting on security checks.

  3. Hi Everyone,

Driss had his interview today with the infamous blonde woman, and he was denied. :crying: I am kind of sketchy on the details as of now, but I am investigating what went wrong. They had all the proof of relationship, notarized letters from family, photos, etc. and it was scanned so they had it before the interview. Apparently, they kept his passport after the interview, and gave him the 221g stating that the petition would be returned. Later today, they called him back and told him to come pick up the passport. His interview was in English and he said he understood her well, and he said that she understood all his responses, clearly. Basically, from what I have ascertained thus far, the Consular Officer was satisfied with all of the evidence of relationship I gathered and we nearly got an approval, but something went wrong during the interview, and she told him "I'm confused." He asked her "Why?", so that he could clarify any potential issues and she responded with "I'm sorry your petition is being returned so you can ask USCIS any further questions." He said that a friend that he met 2 weeks before while getting the Medical at that Dr. Khadija's office, also got denied, along with a host of other people today. There were lots of people there, and most got denials. He also said that even though his interview was scheduled for 8:00am, they didn't see him until around 2:00pm. He faxed me a copy of the 221G and I faxed it along with a letter to the Senator that helped us before. Other than that, I don't really know what else to do, but I do need to coordinate with others like Kiya and Limah and the rest of the unofficial "returned petitions task force". :help:

Thanks to everyone who gave advice, support, and direction throughout the process.

Best Regards and Have a Great Weekend,

    iysha

i am so sorry to hear your sad news.

    >>>>>He said that a friend that he met 2 weeks before while getting the Medical at that Dr. Khadija's office, also got denied, along with a host of other people today. There were lots of people there, and most got denials>>>>>>>>>>>

just want you to know there could be many resons for these denials. some could have been visitor visa's, lottery or other types. some are missing documemts and other stuff so i would not be concerned about what happened with others unless he knows the specific details. i know my husband heard the same when he was there for an interview 2 x, yet he knew not the specifics so it is up in the air as to all the deatils that are unknown.

have you e mailed the consulate? contacted your reps to make an inquiry? have family and friends send e mails/faxes on your behalf.

the best we know is casa returns cases "DUE TO THE VALIDITY OF THE RELATIONSHIP".

what could they possible have used against Driss? this is the question.

  4. I agree we need to get this pinned.

I got the 221(g) and this happened to me just yesterday in the morning. unfortunetly the lady that interview people in the consulate of Casablanca, that lady is strange. they are only 2 ladies that interview for the K-1 visas and they are both weird. can you imagine her asking me what do your fiance do with her kids and how your fiance play with her kids !!!!!? and what do she do for fun !!! and you all have to know that if you fail to answer even 1 question, you will be denied because of insufficiency of proofs of relationship. pfffffffffff what a strange mind they have, how come if MY FIANCE HERSELF APPLIED FOR ME IN THE US !! how can she apply for me if i don't know her ? and who is with me on the pictures !!! they just want to ger people borred of the process, because when it come to invistigations about people, they can easily know even what do you eat everyday in your home and not only if you have a real relationship with your fiance !! strange strange strange.

    the African

what type of 221g letter did you get?

    there are 2

one says they are returning your case to USCIS

the other says they are doing security checks

did you need some help or were you just blowing off steam? (which BTW is ok)

as to your questions...well casa is a high fraud consulate so they are doing their job to make sure you are real. be happy, at least she tried! in our case we didnt even have that courtesy!

let me know if you need some help

  5. Hi,

Your post caught my eye, as we are in Admin. Processing now for 5 months since the 1st interview. We meet the criteria you described in your post. I am 49, and my male fiance is 30, and we met online, and I am not religious, and he is not a practicing Muslim, and, we are very much in love. But, we are losing our minds with this AP, because it has been since the end of February that he had the 1st interview, whereupon he was told that when he returned some paper, he would get his visa, and that was early March. What do you think? Also, I moved from my permanent address of 15 years to a temporary one in another state. I plan on returning to California with my fiance. Do I need to give them this temporary address? Anything of value you can contribute is greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Carol

    Carol

he was told to return a paper?? did he do that? what was the paper? did he get a letter from the consulate? did he scan it and send it to you? if there is paperwork missing he has just 1 year to provide it.

as to the address...will you be able to receive mail at the old address? it is ALWAYS a must to inform USCIS of your change of address.

  6. Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me as far as when they send back your petition for further review to Vermont if it has to go some where else first

YES...IT GOES TO NVC FRAUD UNIT

and also does Casablanca take forever to send it out...

DEPENDS...WHEN THERE IS A DIPLOMATIC POUCH FULL THEY SEND IT.

Also how long it takes for them to send you a letter letting you know what the review is about

IT COULD TAKE AS LITTLE AS FOUR MONTHS TO FOREVER...DEPENDS WHERE YOU FILED THE PETITION

plus is there anything I can do in the mean time

YES, BUT PLEASE TELL US WHAT HAPPENED IN YOUR CASE, THEN I WILL KNOW HOW TO ADVISE.

Thank u in advance for any help you can give me

    YOU ARE SO WELCOME

i see no one responded so i thought i would try to help you out if i can. please give the deatils of your case.

    1 what type of petition

2 what service center you filled at

3 were you denied a a visa? (sorry but it sounds like that is the issue)or in AP?

    4 do you know why?

5 what was the date of the interview?

6 what does the 221g letter say?

  7. my guy interviewed with lady from H*LL  She was terrible!! He answered all her questions, but she kept asking him about what schools I attended when I was a child. We had never been asked about that before, and I filled the forms out myself and e-mailed them to him so he would have all my info. I know the papers asked about high school and college, which I filled out and he also told her about, but she would not listen. Then she would not believe that I have no children, because early in our relationship I had temporary custody of my best friends 2 kids. I only had them for about six months, but they are a huge part of my life and I often feel as if they are mine too. When he tried to explain about the temp. custody, she told him she did not care and did not believe him. What is that? She is crazy. She kept him there for nearly 2 hours! everybody else around him were being granted their visas and he was still dealing with the physco!! So now I am at a loss, I have never done any of this before and I have no idea what the next step is. The embassy tells me I have to wait until they send everything back here. My guy tells me he has been talking to others there that have dealt with her too and some have given up, others managed to eventually get their visas. He says that what we need to do is send an e-mail and cancel this app. and then apply for a new one with all this new info and the letter he was provided and that it would be approved within 4 months. Has anyone else experienced this? What is the right road to travel here? :help: I am very confused and a bit distraught over the whole thing.

Any and all advice, comments would be helpful and welcome.

    Thanks,

    Becke

sorry Becke i missed your post.

what is the status of your situation right now?

have you got your reps involved?

yes she is CRAZY but there is nothing at the moment we can do about it. it has been a week since you were denied now. have you e mailed the consulate or tried to call them?

  8. Thanks for all the information. He told me he would take care of the divorce when he returns to Egypt, but I would like to see if I can persue it here to get it done with. Last I knew he was in Texas. We parted in good terms, no bad feelings. We never filed for AOS, and I have spoken to immigration, homeland security, you name it. His work permit has expired and his visa expires in January 2007. Immigration told me he is legal in the usa whether we divorce or not until his visa expires. So I am not pursueing the divorce just to have him deported, I just want a divorce to move on. He has said he would return to Egypt this summer. I don't feel there will be a need for deportation process because his only purpose of staying is to earn money before returning. He has no father and is responsible for his mother and sister.

since you live here, file for the divirce here so later if you want to get married this marriage wont be an issue.

  9. My wife's case is in final stages of NVC processing. I would like to know:

    1. Can I accompany her for interview at the consulate?

    2. If yes, is that a standrad practice or i have to request it ahead of time.

I will apprecaite, if any one can provide guidance on the subject.

    Thanks.

    1. no one is allowed inside the consulate except the benificiary. you will have to wait at a cafe next to the consulate or across the street. (since tha latest incident this may not even be possible.)

    2. it is standard no one but the one being interviewed is allowed inside the consulate. you can request to be present but your request will either be ignored or denied.

there is a slight chance if you wife mentions first thing that you are waiting outside that the CO may have her go get you if the CO wants to see or talk to you. this does happen but not often.

since the interview can be very short and fast, she needs to mention you are there right away or she may get caught up in the interview and forget (nervousness).

    good luck

  10. yah but when you see people who applied AFTER you already reunited with their fiance....it sucks!

how true that is. i dont think those who are reunited in this type situation really know the pain you suffer when you see this happen. of course you wish them well but it hurts like he!! to have it happen to you.

  11. I will contact the embassy. plus I decided to go to pakistan and forgo my graduation day :( all the precious moments the embassy takes from us :(

good idea. see what they tell you. try to keep your case with them. try to find out why they decided to return your case. i dont know anything about this consulate but try finding all you can. are you going to call or send an e mail?

let me know if i can help.

    ((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))

  12. I would think there is nothing one can do to change this. it is being done in the name of security. it appears there is more going on than is being reported.

    chi

Has anyone checked into whether or not the K1 visas would be handled differently since they are considered non-immigrant, unlike the K3? Maybe some of you K1's can go to the neighboring countries like the tourist visa applicants.

thats a good possibilty. i would certainly find out.

  13. Good luck to you! Going to Melilla sounds like a great idea and very inexpensive. I see your point about not aiding the corruption, but if you're going to be living in Morocco your life might be alot more difficult. To ensure to be together with my husband I would do as all Moroccans do. It's part of life there, just consider it tipping.

    Michaela

I have tipped a lot - people who do their job - this man has been rude and inconsiderate to me and my hsuband since the beginning - he told us flat out that "Americans make it hard for everyone else, so we are going to make it hard for you" - I do not think it is just about the money - I think he is just trying to prove something.

My husband and I are both very aware of what it is like here, of course, but it does not mean we need to compromise our ethics and we won't. We will take other actions to fix this - the advice has been great - thank you.

so the issue is with this one person. can you see another person? this is at the police station that this is happening?

you certainly dont have to compromise your ethics but you will not be able to change a way of life that has exsisted for centuries over night. might that wait until you have overcome the visa denial? i think that is formost on all of our minds and concerns for you.

my husband's cousin is a police officer. he lives on a very small salary, it is just so sad. they dont even have a proper bathroom in their home yet they adopted a homeless little girl bringing the number of children they have to 3. he works and lives in a small city north of Rabat, i think it is called Sale. i see him as a pious honest man yet i wonder if he takes what we call bribes? if he did i would think he would live better than he does. perhaps he does not.

  14. oh gosh this is so difficult.

you are getting the wrong info regarding your I-130. it will be the petition USCIS wil review and use to issue you the NOIR. the NOIR will be sent where? you will have 30 days to respond to it or your I-130 will be revoked. will you still be in Morocco when the NOIR arrives?

Chi, I think you are talking about my other post on this one, so I will go there to reply on your comment about the petition status.

i could not find your reply

as to the residency in Morocco. this is what their website says>>>>

    Residence permit

Americans and other foreign nationals interested in residing in Morocco for more than three months have to report their intention to stay in Morocco to the nearest police station of their place of residence within two weeks of their entrance. To apply for a resident card, non-Moroccan nationals have to provide supporting documents of their place as well as reason of residence (e.g.: job contract, employment verification, proof of investment, proof of registration for students, marriage certificate for people married to Moroccan nationals). When first issued, residency cards are valid for one year, renewable every year. Processing time takes approximately 3 to 6 months.

did you report your intention with in the first 2 weeks there?

Yes - we did exactly this - I wrote to the US CO here to get all of the information and we followed each and every step for their process here for a residence permit. So I am aware of all of this information - we researched before starting. I took in all of the supporting documents - even my husbands family signed papers to sponsor me with my husband - I went through the interview and everything - we were applying for the residence permit - the man processed as only a tourist extension. He said there was no reason for me to stay here - if I wanted to I could come back.

    are you going back?

as to the corruption. they do not consider asking for money as wrong. it is a way of life. you do for me i do for you. your husband must know this. we call it corruption they call it life. (is it right? not by our standards.) but this is how this culture lives and it is expected if you want something you will pay for it. plain and simple. there is no way you will be able to change this. going higher up the chain of command usally doesnt help either because they do the same thing and they will say there must have been a misunderstanding or whatever. its a battle you cannot win. what is the saying, when in spain do as spain does or something to that effect.

just give the money to renew your stay. even if you do go to spain i am sure you will still have to pay someone else for it so why bother unless you just want to take the trip?

one question, did you apply for a tourist or residency permit? Residency Permit

i wish you the best. this is such an emotional time for you. i so understand. please dont get angry for what i have told you.

I have no reason to get angry at you Chi - people have really got the wrong idea about me through this battle - I am really an easy going person. As for the corruption issue - I will stand by my beliefs, as will my husband - we both are very aware of the system here, but we do not have to aid it - if we have to go other methods to do things right, then that is what we will do. And I stood on the belief I can never win the battle - then why I am I even here - I know what battle you are speaking of, but in my philosophy - all of life is a battle and I will fight each and every one I come faced with, but I will do it with my ethics in tact and believe that if people believe in somethng enough - it can be changed - if we all go through life thinking that these battles can not be changed - then what good are any of us in this world?. And I have went up the chain of command here and won each and every time - I believe there is good in this country - I have seen it many times. Sadly for one good - there is ten bad, but I seekl to find the one good and will go through the ten to get to that one. I hope you understand - thank you so much for all of your help and advice - you are a good person!

    chi

i have no wrong idea about you at all. i understand all you are going through. i am just not sure how you will be able to accomplish what you want.

how will you do battle with USCIS for your husband living in Morocco? have you changed your address with them? USCIS are notorious for blunders in this area (among other things as well).

how much experience does your senator have with immigration and USCIS issues, especially returned cases? mine told me to continue processing our approved I-130 saying it would get send to Casa and we would get a visa with that petition. right in the middle of processing it was sent back to CSC for further review. senator was wrong. senator's liason said she learned something new. (gulp, at my expense) in the 2 years i have been learning it has been my experience no represenative knows this process. which i would expect to be the case since this is not their area of work. as a matter of fact each service center seems to have their own way of handling returned cases.

my point is that you cannot always go by what senators/congressman tell you since they dont know much either. in your case, i find it reasonable that your approved I-130 is in storage. it is awaiting the K3 return and expiration then they USCIS will pull it for review, send you the NOIR and go from there.

staying with your husband is a wonderful thing. how i wish i could have stayed with mine. but i would have lost my job, our home and the abilty to fight the denial. there would have been no place for us to come home to when we did overturn the denial.

i understand your desire for right and wrong. but to do battle with a culture that has existed for centuries by yourself is certainly applauable and admiral. if aiding the sysyem (corruption) there would have helped us i would certainly have done it! as i stated, this is life there. we payed many hands just to get married in Morocco. it was that or no marriage.

however would not your energies be better directed at the USCIS since this will be the next step in the process?

your battle at the moment is not with the corruption issue there but with the DOS and USCIS since these are the American govermental agencies who have the power to issue a visa for your husband. how will doing battle with the Moroccan way of of life change anything for you? this is what i dont understand. is your plan perhaps to remain in Morocco with your husband or is your plan to one day come to the states with him? if the latter is true why waste your time and most of all your energy on what Morocco does? certainly that issue can wait until you have cleared up the visa problem.

i am just an outsider reading and these are my thoughts. being that i also have been through this very same process i know how easy it is to get sidetracked. my suggestion is to keep focused on what you have the power to do and leave the rest behind. keep your focus on establishing a valid marriage.

living in Morocco is not necessarily proof that you have a valid marriage. keep that in mind. one of the best proofs is letters from those who will verify they know you as a couple. you will want to gather as many of these as you can for the NOIR.

my best wishes and prayers for a quick resolution to your case.

    chi

  15. just give the money to renew your stay. even if you do go to spain i am sure you will still have to pay someone else for it so why bother unless you just want to take the trip?

Could you explain that? Why would she have to pay someone to exit and reenter in order to get a passport stamp?

ops, i was meaning that she will still have to pay to get a residency permit.

    chi

  16. Sorry - I do not know the exact person she spoke with - I only know it was at the CSC.

odd, both senators office staff are telling me that CSC usually take 30-90 days to respond to a request. wonder how you senator's staff was able to speak directly with CSC.

i have been able to confirm that many of the paper files sent to Texas Service Center and California Service Center for background checks per the adam walsh act requirement, have been sent to the National Record Center for storage rather than back to the consulate where they were filed.

my senator merely called CSC. sad to say our reps dont know a lot about what goes on in different departments. perhaps you sent a email or snail mail?
