  1. Don't worry. Just put your current name on the DS230 when you send it to the NVC and have hubby write a letter of explanation that you've changed your name after the process started.

I did the same thing. My husband called USCIS but it seemed that they didn't need this info updated. It will be needed for the NVC part, though because that's when you send them a copy of your passport. So just update this info as your case gets to NVC.

Thank u so much sister for ur replay it's really helpful!! what a relief! I wish u the best of luck through this journey and I hope u get ur approval soon (F)

  2. Hi to all of u, I have this question and plz I need help cos it's kinda stressful. Well whne my Hubby sent the I 130 petition he used my maiden name and now I'm having my passport and I wanna use my husband's family name in it cos I've heard that if I'm gonna use my maiden name all the documents will be with my maiden name and to change that later it's gonna coast some extra. So my question is would it be ok if my I130 at the uscis would have my maiden name on it and once I get to the stage of nvc I would send them the copy of the passport with my husband name in it? will it be confusing to them? Thank u all!!

  3. I need an answer that says it will be OK because I can never forgive myself for destroying my life like this, it has NOT been an easy process to get this visa for me because of my brain disorder, I have been through absolute hell on earth and it has cost me thousands in psychaitric, medical and lawyer help. I can never, ever live with myself for being so retarded as literally drooling on my visa (yes, this retarded.)

I simply cant do this again. It will finish me. I'm already fairly sure I suffered a mild heart attack AFTER the medical (tightness in chest, lasted an hour.)

Don't beat ur self up please, u need to breath in and out sloooooowly. Now pick up ur phone and contact ur consulate and tell him exactly what happened. Just call them but please be quiet and clear with them don't let them feel u panicking. Please think positively and don't think that u messed up before knowing the real answer from them. Please contact them and let us know cos I'm really worried abt u!! Best of luck and I'm gonna pray for u (L)

  4. Hi everyone, well I'm gonna keep it short. When my husband filed for the I 130 he sent my pics without a scarf on cos my gov used to consider passport pics with scarf illegal, but since the revolution we r allowed to have passport pics with scarf they called it "freedom of belief" Lol, so recently I got my passport with my scarf on means covered hair. So my question is when my petition will be forwarded to the NVC if they see the pics without scarf and the new one in the passport with would they get confused? Will they reject my file? Please help me out in here I dunno what to do, any advices will be helpful. Thank u all!!!

  5. It means your petition was looked at and then place on a shelve until it's ready for approval.

You know when your petition has been touched by creating an account along with your case # on USCIS website.

Thxs sister, I hope u didn't laugh at my stupidity LOOL

Just an updates on your case by USCIS.Things done behind the screen on your case before is finally approved or denied.

Tnxs for replaying so when there is an update means there's hope for approval soon??

    :ot2: lol

  6. They posted the processing times at 5 months. So it seems you filed the petition in January, guess at June until they get to yours

    Good luck

Thank u for responding to my post. Yay!!! that's a devastating news Lool, I feel like I wanna cry cos I'm sick and tired from being away from my husband. I know that we can't know the exact time for processing this petition but to wait till Jun maybe is nerd wracking :o

  7. for 'speed up the process' -

learn all about NVC processing, then WHEN the I-130 is at NVC - GO FAST.

For now, otherwise, nope, is nothing to do until the I-130 is approved.

as to yer 'are you stupid or what' .. stupid? nah. i'd learn towards 'ignornant' but that is easily cured from reading and understanding and reading and reading and reading.

(Reading is cool, btw, much knowledge acquisition there, you can become powerful with knowledge)

Thanks Darnell!!! I'm trying to learn but it's kinda hard when u ur not a native speaker:))) counting on kind people like u, thxs again!

  8. Thank u all for your replies though I'm still confused, am I stupid or what LOL???? But here my story exactly and u can tell me what to do specifically; I met my hubby on line on the 18th of January 2010, we first met on the 9th of June 2010 in my country Tunisia we got engaged on the same week and then he left my country, then he came back in the 30th of Novemeber2010, got married on the 5th of December. SO he went back to the US and filled the I-130 petition and sent it, on the 17th of January got the receipt. That's it so what's next to do we should sit and wait or is there anything helps to speed up the process? How long should we expect to wait till I can be able to travel to be with him once and for all.. Thank u thank u thank u!!

  9. THXS for the clarification so as I understand from what u said we can send now the I-129F and we don't have to wait?? Sorry but I'm new to the whole process so plz can u explain to me step by step the whole process from sending the I-130 to the visa interview? so I can get a better idea abt it. Thank u soo much!! God bless u!!

  10. Hi everybody,

I'm new in this forum and I'm really desperate to know how long the process of the spouse visa will take. I'm from Tunisia and my husband is an American we got married last December, he sent the petition this January and the USCIS emailed him the receipt number, so when he checked in the site he found 3 circles instead of 9.. is it a good thing?

More details: he's a police sergeant. Please I need an answer. Thank you all!!
