Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding my travel timeline and re-entry permit. -
I became a U.S. permanent resident in June 2024. -
I had to return to my home country to finish 11 months of school. -
I filed for a re-entry permit I-131 in February 2025. -
I completed biometrics and then left the U.S. for the first time on May 18, 2025. -
I made a short trip back to the U.S. from November 8 to November 14, 2025 (6 days). -
I plan to return to the U.S. permanently by early May 2026. My concern: it s very possible that my re-entry permit will not be issued by the time I return in May 2026. Question: If the re-entry permit is still pending by the time I come back in May 2026, are there any issues with me re-entering the U.S. as a permanent resident without it? Would CBP give me trouble even though my total time outside the U.S. will be under 12 months and I made a short return during that period? Any insights or similar experiences would be appreciated!

Hello everyone here. I was wondering if someone would please send me a link or could please tell me what the steps are to follow after getting the (Approval Notice Section: Husband or wife of U.S Citizen, 201(b) INA letter). My petition was approved and sent to the National Visa Center on August 7, 2025. I did not have a job back then, which is why it took me so long to start the process after getting the approval. However, now that I have a job, I can proceed with the next step. Can someone help me please? Thank you in advance.

Hi guys! I am the petitioner and my husband and I are almost to the end of our journey, we have been DQ on July 14th and are awaiting our interview letter. Just yesterday, I got a promotion at work. Same company, same job but with an upgraded title and will be getting a bigger salary. Does my husband need to take a brand new and updated/signed affidavit of support to the interview? Or should he just take along the affidavit of support we submitted along with a new letter from my work stating my new title and pay? My husband also got a promotion with an upgraded title at his job as well - since he is the beneficiary, does he need to inform the consular officer at the interview or does that not matter much to them? All our documents were approved and I already qualified as a sponsor based on my income and work history so the salary is not an issue, just wanted to make sure we have everything straight and didn t want there to be any issues. Thank you in advance!

Hey guys! So our I-130 has been approved and we are in the process of getting all documents together to submit on the CEAC portal as well as complete the ds-260. My husband, the beneficiary is a Tunisian national who lives in Tunisia and I m here in the USA. His passport expires in early December of this year. He attempted to renew it back in April but he was told that it was too far away from expiration for them to renew it. We waited, and our I-130 was approved in late April. my husband began the process of renewing his passport closer to 6 months before it expires. They kept his passport and finally after going back and forth, being told it ll be ready by tomorrow oh the one lady who handles this is out sick today, come back tomorrow oh it s not ready today, come back tomorrow (you get the idea) they told his aunt today who went to pick it up that they can t renew it until it s expired. How does that even make any logical sense?! You can t even travel most places in the world without having a minimum of 6 months on the passport. It also states on the ds260 to give a passport number of a passport that will be used to enter the US with. So we can t even fill the ds260 until we get this new passport. My husband and I are frustrated and devastated Does anyone have any advice?
