  1. My wife is a US Green Card Holder and we want to submit her application for citizenship. I'm a US citizen working as a contractor for the US Government. Chapter 4 - Spouses of US Citizen employed abroad, exempt from the continuous residence and physical presence requirements for naturatlization. The problem I see with applying, the US citizen spouse regularly stationed abroad for at least one year. The US citizen spouse has been working overseas since 2019 and the spouse (US Green Card Holder) has been living overseas with him. However the contract orders (the proof that shows the US citizen employment), changes every year and currently undergoing a change in the contract, that show the contract orders for only 3 -6 months at a time. Questions is, can we still apply for N-400, show proof the US citizen employment, with the current contract orders that expire less then one year?
  2. Okay thank. We have been living overseas since 2019, since 2021, the child has joined us doing her school breaks. We also have been provide care for the child since 2019. Just wondering if this would be enough to passed the requirement?
  3. The father is still alive. We just complete the court process in Ethiopia and the father gave his consent. The adoption was award to us last month.
  4. The child is my wife niece, her sister child. Her sister is no longer with us, she has pass away. An the father has gave consent through the courts for us to adopt her.
  5. I-130 Question. I am a US citizen and my wife is a US Green Card Holder. Certainly we adopted her neice from Ethiopia and need advice on completing the I-130 application. The child is 13 years old and has been living with us here overseas since August 2023. We were wondering with the adoption certify by the Ethiopian courts, would the child be considered immediate family? As we do are research we notice the processing time can take some time and would like to bring the child to US by the end of this year.
  6. The adoption is completed in another country. I'm her legal parent. Have court documents from another country, the adoption is finial. What is the next step, we need to do, bring her to USA?
  7. The child is relate to my wife, however the adoption fall under both of are names.
  8. Have completed adoption procedures with child from overseas. Currently I'm living overseas. What is my next step for the child with Immigration? What is the process for getting the child to USA?
  9. What I want to no is, my wife has our adopt child listed on her N-400. If she has been the process, become a US citizen, can the child, immediately because US naturalized citizen?
  10. My wife a green card holder. We have adopted her niece, the adopted awarded by the courts in her country. Currently we are applying for my wifies US citizenship (N-440).
