Signature confirmation...bad idea?

I was so excited because this weekend I overnighted my packet to the Texas service center. I requested that a signature be required upon delivery. Well, USPS attempted to deliver it this morning and could not get a signature.....said they would try again tomorrow. If they cant get one tomorrow, my package will be held for 5 days and then sent back to me. Did I make a huge mistake by requesting a signature? Why is there no one to sign for it?

I was so happy and now I feel discouraged :(

They only pickup their mail once per day (around 5 am). They'll try again tomorrow.

I only did 'delivery confirmation' for mine, but I don't think it matters.

Don't worry - I'm sure you'll know by tomorrow a.m.

Same thing happened to us - with TSC. I got an e-mail from the USPS the next morning - at 5 a.m. that it was picked up.

It's going to a P.O. Box if you sent it to the correct address right? USPS drops a notification card in the P.O. Box. Tomorrow when they come to pick up mail they will sign for all packages requiring signature and pick yours up. No worries I sent mine this way.

I called USPS (3 times to be exact) and they told me TSC comes to pick up their mail, instead of it being delivered to them....all of this I did NOT know!! Silly me did not think about it being a PO box.

Thanks for all the responses....I needed the re-assurance.
