Uh...other people definately know more than me, I don't even know what this seminar is. But if you're just attending a seminar and not actually coming over to get married on this particular trip then you don't say you're coming in on a K1 visa. You can only do that once and they have to actually give it to you first. But if you're at a stage where you're not allowed in the country you'll have to get special clearance.

I do know it takes months for you to receive a passport once you actually apply. I would think it'd be fine to put "tourist" on it since it's for your country (right?), and not the US, and you could be touring anywhere. It's when you enter the US dishonestly that you get in trouble. But in any case, if you're already in the visa process, you should probably order a passport pretty soon :\

I'm on a k1 visa process ryt now and i wanna get a passport but here in the Philippines if you are going to get a passport for marrying someone in the other country i should put Fiance visa but if i write that they will ask me for a certificate from CFO. It's a certificate that you attended the seminar about marrying a foreigner but i don't wanna attend yet because i can attend after the interview.Now what am i gonna choose?

One of the requirements for getting a passport is;

*For fiancees and spouses of foreign nationals

-Original and photocopy of Commission on Filipino Overseas (CFO) Guidance and Counseling Certificate of Attendance.

I wanna attend the seminar after the Interview :-( I don't wanna attend the seminar yet huhuhu....

Are you sure they want you going after the interview? It sounds like they've purposely got that set up to where it's difficult to do it your way.

I'd say, I really wouldn't want to take any chances on anything looking dishonest with them, so if it's not that big of a deal for you to go to the seminar now I'd go.

But my thing is the passport is for the Philippines, for Filipino citizens, right? And you can go to any country at all with it, it's just how you travel. So I really don't see how they can get you in trouble if you just go ahead and apply for it and put 'tourist' down, because for all they know you might be planning to take a trip to a different country, etc. I would only worry about it the passport is exclusively for getting into the US.

But if I were you I'd just attend the seminar if you can and not take the chance :( Sorry.

I'm sure it'll be fine, even at worst what's a couple weeks delay when we're all waiting almost a year, sometimes :D

Good luck!

Get your passport through a Travel Agency, they will know what to do. You'll have to pay more but it will spare you from worries. Just hire the reputable one, just be careful because there are lots of scammers around. If you want to do the processing by yourself do the right thing and follow the rules, CFO is a requirement whether you like it or not you have to take it.
