I LOVE hot and spicy food! But just the other day, I had some pickled cherry peppers on a roast beef sammich that is still making my stomach burn today

I ate the jalapeno they put on the side at a Mexican place, supposedly authentic, a few days ago. The next morning my a-hole was a fire breathing dragon.

errr...thanks for sharing that tidbit of info...

Well - for now I'll just have to make do with Jose Tejas as a substitute for Indian food.

LMAO...... Check out Jose's Cantina in Warren. It's better Mexican that Jose Tejas. They have another location in New Providence, which is closer to Union, but I haven't been to that one.

I'll check that out - always on the lookout for new places.

Have you been to the Blue Moon cafe? It was pretty good - I forget exactly where it was though.

I don't write in an accent though, nor do I know anyone who does. I'd say that's pretty rare outside of Irvine Welsh novels ;)

I don't understand why anyone would want to do that aside from drawing attention to themselves.

You do know you're baiting, right?

ahahahaahhahaah! ow my sides!

Yes that's the one. Good food - a little on the pricey side (Chevy's pricing, rather than Jose Tejas).

Way too much of a drive for me. You're in a much more central location than I am.

I hear the Indian food in the UK is very Punjabi/Kashmiri in style. Out here the Indian diaspora of an entirely different ethnic stock, so that could be why.

When hubster came here and we hit our Indian community to sample all of the restaurants, he found them of course different from the UK versions. But when we went to India he found that our Indian community restaurants were much closer to India Indian food than what he'd grown up with in the UK. He says they make 'em a lot hotter in the UK for folks wanting to prove how hard they are... I can eat the hottest thing on the menu, me!

Oh you have my admiration. I could never eat stuff that hot, don't actually think I'd want to either, to be honest. But you still have my admiration, you must have taste buds made of asbestos! :P

heh...no that wasn't me saying that... oooops! That was hubster saying what other Brits say... hee

I don't have quite that tolerance, nor do I want it either. Lots of flavor (or spice) dosn't equal lots of hotness to me. I love the way Indian food blends loads of spices.

Oh! Sorry! Well, then your hubby has my admiration then. I am with you on the spice thing.

Wow, did we ever get OT. Actually, several years ago, while in a delightful North Carolina retaurant I did all my ordering in a southern accent. I also had a friend that used a Russian accent (in my honour) in Las Vegas at a restaurant for fun. Everyone was asking him questions about his "life" in the former Soviet Union.

We're moving towards - "Do you find that you adapt your accent/dialect to match that of the restaurant you happen to be in?".
